We ordered a medium Oxtail plate and a side of French fries. The flavor of the oxtail just melts in your mouth. The meat tears softly off the bone, effortlessly. We had two servings of the oxtail with the delicious rice and beans. The plate normally comes with plantains, but we requested to have it removed due to my allergies to bananas. Kerby politely replaced it with seasoned cabbage that paired so well with the meat and rice. The plate was shared between my girlfriend and I for a late lunch after attending a koi fish show. The French fries were amazingly delicious, they were evenly seasoned and fried to a crisp. It's hard to find crispy and well seasoned French fries that aren't soft and wilted. These fries were perfect. We spent about $30 with tip and enjoyed the full service care Kerby provided us. We will always come back here for her food. We ordered before going next door to the vape shop and returned to wait on our food. I placed a pickup order at Bodeau's last night and from start to finish it was a pleasure. Called placed my order over the phone. Once I arrived I was welcomed into a small cozy restaurant. The food was ready; they showed me the food before putting it in the bag, and it was such large portions, even with me ordering a medium lol. I got home and, unfortunately, had to make a few more stops before heading straight home, so I had to use the microwave to get it back to the correct temperature. And even then the ox tails, mac and cheese, cabbage, plantains, jerk chicken, black rice, and rice and beans were ALL flavorful, juicy, and delicious! Let me start by saying this little gem is a hole in the wall so if you blink you might miss it, but I stumbled across it on yelp when I was trying to find some oxtails and Mac n cheese one day. This place is just filled with good energy, the people made me feel like home and the food was so good and baybeee not only did I get my oxtails and Mac n cheese I got some curried goat. My girlfriend and I came here after horseback riding since it was on the way to our house, and it was probably the best decision we could've made. There's only the owner cooking the food so there could be a wait when ordering but it's worth it. The owner however is very friendly and provides great customer service. We ordered the oxtail plate and the chicken curry plate to go. Both plates were amazing. I enjoyed the oxtail more than the curry. It was very flavourful and seasoned nicely in its broth. The service was great. The woman at the counter was friendly and she brought the food to our table. We decided to give this place a try because we saw they offered whole snapper. My husband loves escovitch snapper. Unfortunately, the snapper tasted like it was fried in very old grease and it made the breading and skin so dark and hard. The star of the show was the broth with peppers/onions. Dipping the flesh of the fish in that broth was the only thing that made the fish edible. The fried shrimp breading was extremely salty. I tried to mix the rice and peas and cabbage with the shrimp to dull the flavor. It didn't work because I really didn't care for the cabbage or the rice and peas. They were both missing something My son ordered tilapia and fries and left most of it on the plate. It all tasted like it was cooked in the same oil. We spent about $90 and all left very disappointed. We eat at many Caribbean places in and around the DMV area but none with a more Haitian undertone. I ordered shrimp here to be on the safe side because the photos of oxtails and jerk chicken didn't look to be prepared in a Jamaican or Trinidadian way so I didn't think I'd enjoy them.
