Bought a new Craftsman cordless drill with battery and charger "close out special" at 50% off for $97.84 ordered a saw to go with it. Also ordered a saw to go with it, paid $10 for shipping to the store! Looked the price up for the drill on line and MSRP is $125 at Lows and ACE. Went back to return it because they misrepresented the price as being 50% off, they said they pay double that that from their supplier. Took it home, charged the battery and it wouldn't work. Tried to return it for my $97.84 but they insisted it's a warranty problem. Craftsman is in bankruptcy and now owned by Black and Decker. Warranty is supposed to be good, but the process is a mystery. The staff and manager are very nice but the experience reminds me of the definition for "diplomacy" Telling someone to go to hell in such a way that they look forward to the trip! Once again this place scores 5 stars. This location is always so great, they installed my windshield wipers on my big dirty truck. In the time of Covid-19, they had implemented a curbside pick up which was so helpful. I really appreciate all of the help from multiple staff from call in this morning to identify what I needed for replacement blades and then the true young gentleman that brought out my wipers and installed them. I can now breath a sigh of relief. I am a repeat customer here because my Mother also was provided with exemplary service. We tell all of our neighbors this is the place to go! Jose waited on me..i thought the Napa store would not have my Dodge aka Mercedes model 3500 Sprinter battery in stock..He first talked to me on the phone, and told me it was in stock. Half an hour later, I came down and he showed me two choices,.each with a different warranty period. I selected the best warranty would did cost more , but i wanted better quality. We chatted as he dollied the heavy double battery to the back of my car. we chatted about our Sciatica and Hernias that we both had suffered from..cause we knew that was a very heavy battery. I drove out of my way to get to Napa because I thought they'd have better knowledge of supplies I was looking for, but found a disinterested and uninformed salesman. I struggled to give them two stars, but only did that because of fair treatment on previous occasions. NOT the first place I'd go to for my parts anymore. This is the best auto parts store, and the only real* auto parts store left, in the east Long Beach and Los Alamitos areas. *By real, I mean an auto parts store that actually specializes in auto parts; not trinkets like seat covers and air fresheners. This is the first, and usually only, store I need go to for all of my Jeep's maintenance needs. Plus, I get to pay OC sales tax, which is lower than LA. This is an auto parts store as it should be: American flag at the door, peanuts on the counter, a lazy cat lounging around, hoses and fan belts hanging from the rafters, cases of oil stacked along the windows, oily smell in the air, and all the useful parts, fluids, and hardware to maintain your car. All of the guys behind the counter may look old, crotchety, and suspicious of "outsiders", but in reality, they're really helpful and friendly. You don't have to know about cars to go into this place. While it may not look as sterilized and plastic as an AutoZone or O'Riley, this is the place with the know-how, tools, and parts to help you get it done. They have a decent assortment of bolts, nuts, washers, and other hardware for weekend projects, as well as special drivers and pullers in their rental tools (requires a hefty deposit). They also have a shop area for simple service, but I've never had them work on my vehicle (I do that stuff myself). If you're looking for dash covers and license plate frames, then go to someplace like Pep Boys. But if you're looking for auto parts, definitely go here. read more

Tom was super helpful with finding a replacement battery for my car

Let me start by saying that the guys at Napa have always done a great job helping get the parts that I need. However today took the cake. My wife had an issue with her battery in her car. Once she got her car running, she brought it down to the shop. The guys tested the battery which turned out to be bad. The first act of awesomeness...since they didn't have the battery in stock, the guys volunteered to drive to garden grove to pick one up. Once that was done, they installed the battery for no charge. I was expecting to pay full price, but they guys stepped up again. Without asking they checked the computer and realized that we had replaced the battery there about three years ago. They gave a substantial discount and sent my wife on her way. I don't normally write reviews this long, but had to give a shout out to the awesome service today. We will definitely be back for our auto needs. read more

Wow! I apologize for coming in and disturbing the 3 counter persons who were sitting doing a whole lot of nothing. I walked in the store at Los Alamitos and was not greeted or acknowledged. When I said a hearty "good morning gentlemen" one guy barely looked up and grunted something along the lines of "be right with you". I turned around and walked out. As a consumer, I will no longer cast my dollar votes at this location! Furthermore, I visited a nearby Auto Zone where the experience was the exact opposite. As I walked in the door, "I" was greeted with a hearty "Good Morning Sir" and asked how I could be assisted. I replied and asked to be pointed in the direction of the air filters, but he said "let me look that up for you first" then proceeded to retrieve the filter for me. That's service! I asked if they had a particular bolt, he said that they stock it and it is in the store, but it is on a pallet in the back and he wouldn't dig it out for me. Then, he recommended another store that might have it! The part I need is right there, and you're not going to get it? Horrible service. I've been receiving nothing but perfect service from the staff at Napa Auto Parts. Anthony in particular has gone out of his way to make sure I get the parts I need to fix my car. In certain instances when they didn't have the parts I needed in stock, he'd make arrangements to have the parts delivered to his location in a timely matter, most of the time the same day. One time when I did go there and Anthony was on lunch break, his coworker stepped up and took care of me with the same professionalism. Good job guys! read more

The best auto parts store I have ever been to and it's less than a mile away from my house!

Needed a new fuel filter but didn't know what size torque screwdriver I needed or what kind of filter. They were super helpful!! Let me use the torque sizer tool and even went to another store to get the right filter. Excellent customer service!! Didn't get frustrated at all with all my questions!! Live 35 miles away but wish they were closer...would go back in a heartbeat!! read more

I think it definitely depends on who helps you at this shop. The gentleman who helped me Friday was so helpful and kind. The man who helped me when I returned to pick up my part Saturday was grumpy and couldn't be bothered. BUT they did get my part in less than a day and they offer a nice AAA discount so I'll be back. read more

I have been driving for 45 years, do a lot of my own work and this NAPA store is my go-to location for auto parts. It is important to know that in the rare case they are out of stock, they can get the part delivered to the store in about 2 hours. I'll take old school any day of the week over chain operations like O'Reilly. Your AAA membership card gets you a 10% discount. read more

Didn't even give me a chance to ask another question I had for him. I Called to order some snow chains because i was going to big bear for the weekend. When i called they didn't have my size chains for my tires in stock so the man i was talking to said he will overnight the order which i was happy he was doing. while the man was ordering my chains i repeated my tire size to him 3 times to make sure they would be the right ones for my car. i picked up my chains the next day which cost me around $60 dollars and headed up the mountain for the weekend. The day i was going to head down the mountain to head home it snowed 4 inches and the CHP officers said it was mandatory for drivers to have snow chains on going up and down the mountain which was no problem for me because i just bought some. while i was putting on my snow chains i noticed that they did not fit they were to small. So i called the Napa store and asked them if the part number i had would fit my size tires and the guy answered saying they were for a smaller size tire. So i was stuck on the mountain. i ended up going to the local Napa store on the mountain and had to buy another pair of chains which cost me $120 dollars. The next day i called the store and asked the store manger Jaime what had happen and that because of his stores mistake i had to pay for more expensive chains and wanted them to reimburse my $120 dollars that i shouldn't have had to spend because i special ordered them and checked 3 times so the guy would order the right ones and he came off very Rude and told me "thats not going to happen" and repeated it multiple times. i told him i guess ill have to call corporate office and said "i guess you will" which was absolutely disrespectful i couldn't believe this man was the store manger. Because of Jamie and this store i will never do business with Napa Auto parts and suggest you do the same they are rude and unfriendly. Go To AUTO ZONE they will take care of you. read more
