It was the very first vineyard in the whole Sonoma Valley. The Sebastiani family took over in 1902 and it's still got that family-run, authentic feel. We visited the tasting room on 4th Street and the vibes were immaculate. It's not just some corporate tasting room; there is a sense of history and time in the room. Myself, my father, and wife did the tasting. It was quick and we liked the explanations and different types of wine. The cost was $40 per person and you have 4 different wines, all of which were Valley wines. We ended up with 3 bottles, all of which we enjoyed while staying in Sonoma. If you head to the left side they have a mini museum with some of the historical wine making equipment that was used on site!

There was already a group there when we arrived. The property itself is beautiful. Basically everything in wine country is amazing. Checked in at the counter where we were started off with a nice cold glass of white. A little starter before heading to our table. You could stay and do a tasting at the counter but with it being so nice out and tables were set up along the lavender farm, it was a given. Their tasting menu consisted more reds which we were perfect with. 2 of the cuvée and 2 of the Cabernet Sauvignon. Everything was quite tasty and went down very well. The gal that took care of us was quite sweet and extremely friendly. Explaining everything to the tee. Making sure that everything was detailed before we started. Of course being sister members, we were able to have a tasting for four that was included. The last time we were here, they graciously showed a little tour of the wine cave. It was quite cute in a hobbit sort of way. The cellar and private tasting rooms set up inside were very nice. The property is beautiful. We…read morestarted in one tasting area and then moved to another, and although there wasn't quite enough staff available to accommodate sitting outside, we ended up in the cozy indoor tasting room which actually turned out to be a nice, intimate setting. The Malbec was absolutely to die for rich, bold, and easily one of the standout wines of the visit (and yes, it's priced over $100 a bottle, which says a lot about its quality). We were definitely impressed. I also purchased a Sauvignon Blanc for $37, which was crisp, refreshing, and perfect for a hot summer night. I'm really looking forward to enjoying it later. What stood out most was the elegance of the winery and its beautiful grounds. Even with the slight staffing limitation, the atmosphere and wine quality made it a memorable visit with the Napa Wine Trip Girls.

Right when you drive in, you're greeted with both sides of rows and rows of grapes vines. The the tasting room itself isn't that big. Decent size inside as well as outside. They do have a nice private room as well as the bar counter if you like that. But everyone was on the patio as it was a nice day. I think the group across from us must be members as well as I did noticed them earlier in the day at a different sister winery. Will was the man on deck taking care of us as well as everyone else. Funny how someone you just meet had so much in common with you. The sweetest and most kindest. And he knows his craft. Even though he was the only one there when we arrived, he made sure that we were all well taken care of. Of course the wines, everything that was poured was great. Upon arrival we were greeted by Brennan who directed us to our private wine tasting room which was amazing. Despite being 45 minutes early we were promptly seated with no delay. The room had two beautiful white sofas, leather chairs and a roaring fire place. Brennan was very knowledgeable with the wines and history of the winery. She was personable and had great interpersonal skills. The entire experience at Michel-Schlumberger was incredible. I highly recommend this winery for the wines, winery and top notch customer service. This winery is a must do for every wine tasting trip.
