Some front desk office staff were rude and uncooperative from my experience. One of the dental assistants was also rude. I showed no disrespect to them, but they had the audacity to show it to me. They would also answer and hang up on calls at times. They said they can only request insurance estimates via paper and sent over snail mail. I would have to wait months for it to come back. Really? But, they can submit completed dental visits electronically? Either way, no estimate ever came back. They get hostile and question you when you don't agree to all the services they are trying to force on you. Why? The patient makes the final decision at what she/he is comfortable with. One last thing, why would office staff air out their "dirty laundry", and openly complain about the patients to each other at the front desk? That doesn't look good. Doctor seemed to be okay, but who is running this office? Why is it acceptable to not follow the basics like respect, courtesy, and cooperation? I would highly recommend to AVOID this place, but hope they turn things around for the sake of future patients coming to this business who are unaware. read more

Do not go here!! They tried to overbill us from a medical procedure that they said was dental. Another dental office out east accepted the payment without ever having my daughter as a patient. The billing department was very rude!! Amy didn't even acknowledge she owed us money and said she was ok being rude with me on the phone. She lied several times to both me and my husband. Beware of this place. They will keep saying you have a balance without showing you proof from insurance or any statement showing the balance. They even tried having me pay $500 over the phone before even securing an appointment. Their estimates that they show you before you proceed with any procedures are also not accurate. It only shows what they think insurance will cover. Dr. Foxson is nice but all the staff are rude. I've asked over the phone if I can speak with Dr. Foxson, but the receptionist answered with "oh he doesn't do that." Save yourself the headache, time and money. Don't come here. I don't even get how this place got so many good reviews. Take a look at the negative ones and please believe them! NOS billing is a ripoff. We were referred here by our dentist for wisdom tooth extraction. After surgery consultation we spoke to the billing clerk and after the insurance preauthorized the surgery, we were asked to pay $277 ( the entire bill ) up front before the surgery (which we did). Fast forward 8 months later we receive another bill from them of $300 without clear explanation for what. When we called, they simply stated that the insurance did not cover the $300 and (even though it was preauthorized surgery) they state it was only estimate. We never received a bill or anything from them prior to this red colored letter stating we were behind 120 days or more. The procedure was done well however the price tag is to high for wisdom tooth extraction and I would recommend you find another Surgeon in the area as this place will surely try to get more out of your pocket then what you agree to pay initially read more

I wanted to be a patient, but I am not. I am thankful for that. I went to the office for the initial visit. I needed a tooth extraction and then implant. The reason I did not choose dr. Foxson is that I wanted to have procedures under local anesthesia and dr. Foxon insisted on sedation. I went to another dentist who used local anesthesia for procedures. Going to another dentist was an opportunity to compare costs. I saved half of out of pocket money. But I needed to pay for the initial visit (consultation). The insurance sent me billing information. I was overcharged. No problem, I thought. As I paid using credit card I thought the overpayment will be credited to my card. NOT SO EASY! I HAVE TO DRIVE TO THEIR OFFICE TO HAVE CREDIT POSTED TO MY CARD! Unusual business practice. read more

Naperville Oral Surgery is all about getting the most money from their patients. The staff are salespeople, not healthcare workers. Dr. Foxson advised I could have a tooth extracted using either local anesthesia or sedation. He had me discuss my options with a woman who works for him. I chose the sedation, only to discover in the estimate that the sedation was $803 dollars, which included a "Therapeutic Drug Injection" of $255 that Metlife wouldn't pay anything towards. I looked it up & it is for patients who have anxiety about dental procedures. His office knows I had an extraction previously without sedation, so they know I do not have anxiety. The extraction was only $400.80, half the cost of the sedation! I called the next day to switch to a local anesthetic & the office woman told me I couldn't change it! When I asked why, less than 24 hours later, I did not have that option, she lied & said she spoke to Dr. Foxson! She transferred me to the office manager, when I demanded to know what changed, as I can spend $803 on  something I really need. The office manager was very rude, stating, "First of all, the Doctor is in surgery in the mornings." rather than advising me why I could no longer have the local surgery. She told me that would cost $545 & that my 10.15 appointment would have to be rescheduled to November, at the earliest! For $1,203.80, I could have any date I wanted, but for $545, I have to wait at least six weeks! She finally responded to why I no longer had a choice of local by saying in my file, Dr. Foxson had written he strongly suggested sedation. When I called her out on being lied to, she told me I was welcome to see another doctor, which is exactly what I am going to do. read more

I called to get the appointment, the lady who handles billing was so rude, she was not even listening to what I was saying, talking over all the time. Dr. Foxson was WONDERFUL! I highly recommend him. However, unless you can pay out of pocket in full or have wonderful trustworthy insurance, It is not worth the hours of wasted time or effort to deal with their finance department. Each time I went to NOS, I had to sit in the finance office and be told how much I owe, I had to pay large sums of money out of pocket. The girls I dealt with were not patient or understanding of financial situations or my shock on how much I had to pay up front before the procedures are performed. I don't believe they have any type of payment plans. Anyhow, I had a tooth extracted in December of 2020. I then had a post put in July of 2021. I gave them my credit card both times and paid what I was told my portion to be. I then moved out of state, had the crown done at another oral surgery center, no problems whatsoever with payments. In APRIL 2022 I receive a bright pink statement saying I owe $875. I call on May 2nd and ask for explanation. I call insurance. I assure NOS they are processing payment. Now June 10th, I receive a let from a collection agency adding fees bringing my balance to $1137.63. I called NOS today and spoke with AMY, not a nice person at all (unless you enjoy being yelled at) told me she communicated with me since 2020, but couldn't give me one date. Basically told me my time was up and hung up on me. I now have to spend my day off work writing appeal letters. read more

Went here for wisdom tooth removal. The procedure was OVER 6000.00 for all the wisdom teeth (should usually run 250-750 per tooth, MAXIMUM) which was ridiculously overpriced, but I had to do it anyways. Keep in mind, this is after a 600.00 "discount was applied". I was in a lot of pain and had to do something about it quickly, so unfortunately I fell for it. The woman who does the financing there was shrewd and off-putting, kind of pushy as well. I paid out of pocket then and there, and then after the payment went through I asked about insurance. I was told "Yeah, we can try billing your insurance" we should have started with that, shouldn't we? And I am still waiting to see if my insurance paid it. The doctor was very nice, and he did a great job. After my procedure, a friends dog slammed into the side of my mouth while trying to play with one of his many toys. The pain was excruciating. So, I called Naperville Oral Surgery to see if it's possible to get any pain medication for this, and the lady I spoke with on the phone was very rude in this call. So rude, in fact, that I ended up "agreeing" to everything she said to end the call quicker, as all she did was belittle me for asking for help while I was sitting there in pain. I was VERY close to hanging up, and it was someone different than the pushy finance lady from earlier on in this review. All around an expensive, misleading, and irritating process. I've visited Naperville Oral Surgery to have two teeth extracted by Dr. Foxson and a post implanted. I have been extremely happy with the work done by Dr. Foxson and the service provided by his staff. The procedure starts with a consultation. After examining the x-rays and my teeth, he discussed a plan of action. Everything was clearly explained. I then talked with the office manager who discussed what the cost would be, what my insurance was likely to cover, and how much I would be responsible for. After agreeing to the costs, we scheduled appointments. Both extractions were from my lower jaw and I had them done under local anesthetic with nitrous oxide. The procedures went well with only minimal discomfort. The pain afterward minimal and gone after only a couple of days. The evening after the procedure, Dr. Foxson personally called me to see how I was doing. I appreciated that. Not many medical professionals provide that level of follow up. I also had the post implanted under local anesthetic with nitrous oxide. I experienced no pain and only minimal discomfort during the procedure (owing mainly to all the apparatus in my mouth). Afterward, I had absolutely no pain and just some gum tenderness which abated after a couple of days. Again, Dr. Foxson called me that evening to see how doing (just fine). All in all, I am very happy with the procedures carried out by Dr. Foxson and the caring and professionalism of his staff. I give Naperville Oral Surgery my highest recommendation. One thing to note: Naperville Oral Surgery requires payment of your expected out-of-pocket expenses at the time of your appointments. Not an unreasonable expectation, just something people should be aware of and prepared for. read more

They seemed quite rushed and interrupted me several times when I tried to give them an insurance form to fill out and explain what the form was for. I was taken back by their rudeness! I got the feeling they have so much business that they really don't care if I took my business else where. They are very booked up and it took a couple months wait before even going in for a consultation. They also over charge for their services. As a parent it's sometimes hard to leave your children in the hands of a stranger. My daughter recently needed a surgical procedure and Dr Foxson and staff were awesome! The level of communication was the best we've ever experienced and the personal follow-up, both before the procedure, and after was a great touch by Dr Foxson. This might be one of the most important reviews I write! NOS did an absolute perfect job. I had previously gone elsewhere and had a very traumatic experience. (I left a review for them on my page) I have an extreme phobia of the dentist and get panic attacks during regular cleanings. After my first attempt to get them out I was even more terrified. The staff at NOS and Dr. Foxson listened to my whole story and assured me they would take great care of me and they really did! I had one woman start off in the room with me, they gave me laughing gas to get me calm. She told me to ask if I needed it higher or lower. I asked for it to be raised and then after a few minutes I was very floaty. Then the nurse put the chest stickers on me and a few minutes later Dr. Foxson came in to start my IV. I felt nothing and my next memory was me waking up! Now a week later my stitches came out today and everything is healing up great. I seriously cannot thank their amazing staff enough. They made something I have been scared of for years into a seamless, perfect process. I will forever be so grateful of their team and the extra effort they took to insure my comfort. (1) Pro: The doctor is good and finished the surgery. (2) Con: Employee forgets your appointment and wast your time. Doctor said he will follow up with me in 6 months, then another employee came to schedule the appointment with me in January for the 6 months follow up. I double confirmed the date with that employee who made the arrangement, but then she immediately forgot to input it in the system! What is worse, when I came back for that appointment in July, there was no follow-up appointment at all for that in their system in any month... (3) Something funny: Employee can't do maths. When that employee scheduled the follow-up appointment with me in January, she thought 6-month follow-up should be in June, she said: "January, February, March, April, May, June, let's schedule for June..." Absolutely agree with all of the negative reviews that speak of questionable billing practices and ignorant staff. Also, thoroughly review your bill for additions and mistakes. Beyond that, however, was the way the surgery went. This was my teen daughter's wisdom tooth extraction and it was AWFUL. She came home with HUGE bruises on both of her hands because the DOCTOR couldn't get an IV in (I have photos). She also remembers most of the procedure because she WOKE UP halfway through-but we were charged almost $2000 for anesthesia(!!!). She said she heard and smelled the drilling and she knew she was strapped down. It also took my daughter a very long time to recover. She was in so much pain for much longer than her friends who had the very same procedure at different offices. It was very difficult to witness. It felt more like a horror movie than the situations described by all of the glowing reviews he crows about on his web site and on the thrice damned, interminable hold message you get when you call the forsaken place. My daughter has been having headaches and pain due to her wisdom teeth. I knew she needed her wisdom teeth removed. I wanted her to go to Naperville Oral Surgery because I had a good experience with Dr. Foxson because I was a former patient of his. Thus, I also trusted my daughter's care onto his hands. We are scheduled to come in on 4/7/2023. My daughter was excited as she will be getting relief from her aches and pain. I am in healthcare (usually it's hard to take off when you work in healthcare) and I asked for leave so I can assist my daughter. On the day of her appointment, we were there early as instructed. As we checked in, the front desk staff said that we didn't have an appointment. I was embarrassed as I thought I may be getting the days mixed up. I called my husband and he confirmed it was for 4/7. I went back into to inquire who made the appointment change- I knew it was not my husband as we want this issue resolved for my daughter already. The front desk staff kept insisting that they will never make that change and that it was us. She said the new appointment was for 4/10. My daughter has multiple tests to take in school the following week and I told them to please just cancel the appointment because no one was going to be with her as I have to go back to work. With a straight face she said, I was going to be charge a cancellation fee of $75!!! I was like why? " You guys changed the appointment on us, I took off to be with my daughter, and it's more than 24 hrs that we are cancelling". I tried to ask for the manager and she was in a meeting. I kept clam and composed myself. I walked out frustrated and defeated. I didn't have the appointment papers and I was upset. I called the office and asked them to have the manager to please call me as all I want at this point is to cancel my daughter's appointment without being charged the fee!! I waited for about 2 hours still no call. I've been praying that I find the appointment card as I want to prove to them it was today and I was not a fool insisting on something that is not true. I went home , and , fortunately I did find the appointment card. I drove to the office shaking and frustrated. It is for 4/7/23 at 7:45am. I showed the front desk staff and I asked for the manager. The manager came out after a couple of minutes and didn't even apologize and just said "it does says 4/7 but your appointment has changed since then, your appointment is cancelled, have a good day" . I was lost for words. I didn't want to make a scene as there were patients waiting for surgery and I don't want to cause any anxiety to them, and it's Good Friday. Oh boy, but I would not recommend this place anymore as they are not compassionate and professional with how they handled my situation. One and Done! My son was referred to Naperville Oral Surgery from another dentist because he had teeth that needed to be extracted. We sent copies of our insurance a week prior to both the consultation and procedure because we have a dental rider on our primary policy with a backup dental plan. We repeatedly asked Foxem's office to bill our primary insurance which they said they would but when we showed up on the day of the procedure the office demanded payment in full of what they projected the cost would be from insurance but still had not sent the request to our primary insurance. When I pointed this out the manager said, "that was their policy, and we could go somewhere else if we wanted". Believe me, at this point there was nothing more in the world we would have preferred to do but leave and go somewhere but my son's abscessed tooth couldn't wait another week to be removed while we went through the process to get a new doctor which the belligerent office manager knew. After this encounter I jumped on the reviews of NOS and it seems to be a reoccurring pattern of the office demanding payment, rudely addressing patients concerns about insurance and in general a systemic lack of professionalism. There are other surgeons in the area, and we would strongly suggest going to one of their offices as NOS seems unable or unwilling to bill insurance correctly and instead of having a blanket policy of not taking insurance, they wait for their patients to get to a point where they need an procedure and don't have time to make another choice of provide then demanding payment. OK getting to the subject of oral surgery I had cavity in my wisdom teeth for over a year and a half and I would do anything to temporarily kill the pain to get going with my day, Time passes off and year and a half later I can't stop the pain no matter what I do no matter what i use no matter how much videos I watch on YouTube none of them helps, and my luck this last moment everywhere is closed I mean all the oral surgeons in the United States are apparently closed because it's holiday What I do I go to Google and search for oral surgeon just out of curiosity and I come up with somebody that has great reviews on Google five stars lots of reviews not only like five or six reviews this person had hundreds and something reviews ,Long story short I called the number,the office number! Next thing you know The automated answering machine Connects me to the doctors personal phone number that I assume ,and he answers the phone !!and I beg him to give me the first available time he has after the holiday without any hesitation he prescribed medication for my pain, anabiotic's and some special mouthwash that actually really calmed the pain, short after that the first opening day after holidays he had me on his office Took my x-ray and like I said I'm very afraid of giving my life to somebody's hand I told them I'm scared and I soon as I said that to him he said what about the gas anesthesia and IV and I accepted and he gave me some paperwork to go through that I signed the papers and one thing I should mention I was really scared that I'm going to die because I never had to go to sleep for any operation BUT OH BOY doesn't this doctor have magical measurements or what !? He gave me gas for 10 minutes or less after that I don't even remember what happen I mean what I remember was that I'm up alive and my two wisdom teeth on the bottom were removed and there is no sign of pain and not a single drop of blood coming out of my mouth how is that possible??? I can't comment on the doctor as I never ended up using this doctor for my daughter because of the treatment I received from the office manager. It's unfortunate that she's the first impression for this office. Because of her lack of customer service, compassion and empathy I decided to cancel my appointment and go elsewhere where the staff is more helpful, understanding and informative regarding insurance. I had to go for my tooth extraction. They charged me upfront for the anesthesia, just in the case they don't get paid by the Insurance. Once the insurance paid them, it was a nightmare to get the refund. I had to call multiple times and get into conference calls with my insurance provider and the office, just to resolve this issue. I am still fighting to get my refund. Avoid this establishment like the plague. The relief that I got from my tooth extraction was compensated by the aggravation that I received while trying to get my refund. read more

Dr. Foxson and his staff took very good care of my 12 year old who had to have surgery because of an impacted canine. Dr. Foxson took the time to sit down with my son prior to the surgery to explain everything that was going to happen and ask him if he had any questions or concerns. I really liked his bedside manner and appreciated his patience with my son. It made me feel comfortable as a parent who is about to leave their 12 year old for surgery in good hands. All went well and later that night he called to make sure he was doing well. I definitely recommend this practice. read more
