I just had the strangest interaction with them. I called to get a quote and agreed on the price. They asked me to write the check to a completely different name than Naperville Coating. I thought that very odd so told them I would get back to them. Then several minutes later I received a phone call from a different man yelling that he needs to know NOW. My neighbor and I were naïve enough to believe that when we paid for the two year program that we would actually receive two applications. Our checks were cashed a year ago, but surprisingly they are nowhere to be found this year to honor the second year of their commitment. Buyer beware, not only have they failed to return any of my five phone calls, but when I stopped by their advertised business address I found that there was not even a Suite 207 in the building. Don't get duped like we were into thinking that a professional looking website with guarantees of customer satisfaction actually meant that we would be treated in a professional and respectful manner. When I explained that I wasnt interested in paying that much and that I was paid less in the past he then insulted me and the company I had before. I would not recommend this company if they offered free services. Very poor job...uneven concrete repair, which was then sanded to try and even out. Then a different color concrete mix poured on the sides to try and build up to make it even. End result... looks worse than before the repair, the garage door doesn't lay flat, the concrete is uneven, sloppy and two toned with a hill in the middle....and our garage, sidewalk, driveway and walkway are ruined with concrete that was not properly cleaned. Absolutely dissatisfied to the point they are not even welcome back to attempt to fix it. Sloppy, poor work. Should be ashamed to leave a customer with these results. STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY! It is as simple as that. Tom came out to give me a quote for fixing some cracks in my driveway and then to have it sealed. I paid $500 for a repair job I was told was a "2-year fix" that would buy me some time before having to replace the driveway. Work was done last October and not done properly. I had to have them redo the work. They did a patchwork of repairs and then resealed here and there. Then this spring I noticed that all the repair filler came out again. The driveway looks worse than before they fixed it! I have been calling the office as well as the salesman (Tom) for a couple of months. They simply ignore my calls. I have left many messages with their "answering service." Small claims court is my only option at this point, especially because of the trail of similar problems many others have had. Boy, am I sorry for not reading the reviews BEFORE going with this company to fix and seal coat my driveway. This has to be the worst experience I ever had with a service provider of any kind. The owners stopped by to give a quote and made an excellent impression. We agreed on what will be done and I gave him a deposit for 1/3 of the amount. BIG MISTAKE!! While he specifically promised they will be there the following week (end of May) when we were supposed to be out of town, they never showed up. I then called when getting back, and was told they'd be there within 2 weeks. When that didn't happen, I called again and again, and each time they gave me the run-around, with vague promises of showing up that never materialized. After about 2 months, a crew showed up (unannounced) to do patch work. They finished after a day, but left fresh tar/asphalt on my lawn and all over the driveway! When I commented on that to the supervisor (the crew had already gone) he said not to worry and that he'd get them to come back and clean it. Needless to day, that never happened. I kept waiting for them to show up and finish the seal coating, but they never did. It took several more phone calls to get a commitment from them to finally come out and finish the job - 3 months after I paid them the deposit. Amazingly, after they finally were able to find who I was and what still needs to be done (they seem to have no method of logging customers and scheduling jobs), the first words out of the mouth of the owner were "I think you owe me money" rather "i'm so sorry we kept you waiting for so long" or "let me make sure we get out there ASAP to finish the work and make sure you are satisfied". When the team finally showed up, I started getting phone calls from the company - from 4 different people (all family members) all day long (about 20 phone calls) demanding I pay them the balance immediately. As I was unhappy with the work they did (which wasn't what was promised me at the beginning) and the entire experience I wanted to discuss this with them BEFORE making the final payment. Despite communicating with them via email and trying to sort it out, they called my house non-stop, left messages, rang the door bell and even called the police (who laughed them away...) to try and collect their money. Boy, if they were only half as diligent when it was their turn to do the job while holding my money for months... I ended up paying them by credit card (so I cancel the transaction if the work is not good) and got them to provide a big discount off the price. Said it was a two day process (they made a big deal out of this stating that's why their process works over others) and our driveway would look like there were no cracks. Terrible experience. Cancelled on me 2 times allegedly because of rain. No rain any of the days that they cancelled. One occasion they didn't cancel or show. I gave up on them after that and never called back. The following week I am not at home and my daughter calls saying someone is out front with a truck. Well, its naperville seal coating completely unannounced. I call the company and they tell me they are there to seal coat. Now the price has gone up from $150 for 2 year seal to $225 for a 1 year seal because they said the driveway was a 3 car and there were several cracks that had to be filled. All of this was gone over with numerous times when I initially called because I had seen a few other reviews complaining of the same thing. Quoting one price over the phone and then up-charging when they get there. When I confronted him on the phone with this he denied ever talking to me. So apparently naperville seal coating must send there trucks out to seal coat unsolicited. This place obviously practices shady business in order to squeeze people. I just had them remove and replace my asphalt driveway. While everything was completed as scheduled the quality of their workmanship leaves something to be desired. I don't think they are really an asphalt company. All the equipment was rented and my driveway is full of high spots, low spots and ridges. Sure, there pricing was quite a bit lower than everyone else that quoted but in this case you get what you pay for. I would not recommend them to a friend. read more

The company resealed my driveway on July 11, 2013. I told them to be careful with the brick pavement that I have on my private walkway. Nevertheless, they left black asphalt residue on my brick pavement and did not clean up. We noticed that the seal was peeling off after 3-days and we were getting visible tire marks even when the weather was cooler. I called Tom and he promised to send his crews back to fix the seal coating and clean up my pavement. I followed up with him several times but he never kept his promises. They mention to their customers, and also indicate in their website (www.napervillesealcoating.com) that their workmanship and materials are fully guaranteed but do not execute. Their advertisement of guarantee attracted us in the first place but it seems that the company does not take care of its customers and follows unfair business practices. read more

BEWARE! I spoke to Tom to schedule my sealcoating. He went into detail about how they could fill any deep cracks for $35 extra. The cost of the regular sealing was $99. He scheduled me for 4 days later. When they arrived, I asked them about the deep cracks and if they could do the extra filler. Neither worker spoke English, so the 12 year old translator told me that if the seal didn't fill them then I would need a new driveway. I called Tom to discuss that I wasn't pleased with the service and it didn't align with how it said it would be done. He told me they never even did my driveway and he would look into it and call me back. He also stated "We don't hire Mexicans so I know it wasn't my company that was at your house". I waited a few days and called Tom back. He apologized for not getting back to me, said he was busy "in the field". He then turned the situation around and made himself the victim. He said that he never even spoke to me and never had any conversation where he scheduled our address. One lie after another on the phone. The check was cashed and I'm investigating what business account cashed it. This man scams people....of course it was his company! Is he trying to make me believe a random company just showed up and did our driveway and cashed the check that was written out to Weathercoat? Which I found out was the previous name of this company. I wish I could give 0 stars. this company recently seal coated our driveway and in 2 days started coming up all over. They did not clean the driveway and layed it on dirt. Not only that the crack repair started cracking. So many things to mention were wrong. Called tom and said he would personally be there with the guys to make right.The guys showed up and no tom. The guys just wanted to brush the coating in any areas that were bad. I was furiuos at this point. I don't want a poka dot driveway for what I paid. Tom said he would come out that day and no show. On the phone he keep saying we will be back and once again the driveway is coming up. Not only that our original quote went up 300 dollars more. I so wish I never used them because the more they come back it is worse then before. They do not stand behind their work. Also the product you can buy for 10 dollars. Aweful. They messed up the sealcoat and did not do the agreed repairs which was one cold patch and one oil spot with the sealcot. So they came out to fix this, all was well but the cold patch was done poorly. So the owner, PH#1-630-450-6111 came out agreed it needed fixed and said they would be out the next day. He also told me wait 48 hours to drive on it. I waited 52 and the sealcoat failed under my tires. Called again and now hes yelling and wont let me speak. Claims this must just be me and my fault and what do I want him to do about it. so I said, when they come to fix the patch, can they look at the tire marks and see if they can be fixed. He interrupts me and says, you know what you can wait, I ill call back at some point and we can schedule this but he wont give me a day or time or anything. I said, I better not be charged until this is resolved and he tells me that he will charge it and "I can go f$%# myself". Called for estimate. Man gave me quote of 96.00. Set up a day for the work. Tom called me back a few days later and confirmed date and 96.00 price. They never showed up. Called company; said they would let Tom know. Heard back next day. He said they were backed up. Would have been nice to know as I waited for them all day on the date promised. Showed up around 4:30 the next day and was asked by supervisor if the price given was 149.00. I said no it was 96.00. He called Tom and he (he handed the phone to me to talk to Tom) said the estimator was old and made mistakes. He said it was supposed to be 149.00 but after further review he would knock it down to 125.00. Frustrated and wanting and needing the work done I agreed. I told him it was a bad way to conduct business...didn't seem to guilt him in to honoring the quote. Waiting to see if their work which is supposed to last 2 years is for real. On may 3rd they said that service would be done in the same week. They called me on 5/5 to schedule for 5/9. I called THEM on 5/11 and they told me that it would get done maybe before 5/18 or definitely before 5/21. Merchant was unprofessional and kept pushing the service date back and back. They never called me to tell me why they work wasnt being done, i had to call them. If you want your driveway done in a timely fashion, do not go to these people. They never came out to do my driveway and the held me by requiring a "deposit". They require a deposit so they can jerk you around. When i called on 5/21 the "salesman" told me that deposits are not refundable. So i guess its okay for them to keep pushing back a job weeks and weeks at a time becuase they already have 1/3 of the total cost of the job. DO NOT GO TO THESE PEOPLE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. The salesperson told me he didnt need to do my stinking driveway and that his life will be unchanged. This is a very shady and unprofessional business. read more
