I would not hire them again. My patio is fairly new. Before they came it was sealed properly. After they came it fell apart after 6 mo. They'll tell you every excuse in the book, saying the patio has too much shade, poor drainage, etc. But the fact is, it was sealed and fine until they came, resealed/sanded it and then it was a disaster. Now I have to get it redone properly again. What a waste of money that was. Do not listen to the excuses they provide. They will reply here and it's 100% a lie. They would not come and redo it for me. So I will never recommend this place to anyone. Poor craftsmanship on their part. And they would not resolve it, so not a trustworthy business. Maks came out quickly to get us a free price quote on what needed to be done. The job was for brick work on the outside of chimney that was crumbling and build the "cap" at the top. Also they made the fireplace safe and useable on the inside of the chimney by putting or adding something to the inside. Flu? Liner? Sorry if my construction lingo is incorrect. I considered that a company from Hoffman Estates may be out of my price range but their quote was one of the best price quotes we received. We just bought a new house and had a service door installed by our contractor on the side of our garage which has a brick exterior. The masonry person who works with our contractor cancelled on him at the last minute. After our contractor was done installing the service door, we had to hurry up and find a masonry company. Stone & Brick Masonry responded on Yelp very quickly the same day and gave a $600 lower estimate than another company. They also came out within a couple of days to start the project which took slightly more than one day. They installed a lintel above, formed the brick border around, and installed a limestone sill beneath the service door. Stone & Brick Masonry was extremely professional and knowledgeable and they cleaned up well when they completed the job. The work conducted was replacing a chimney from roof line up. Maks and his crew were excellent from start to finish. Their proposal was not the highest or the lowest but it was the most thorough. They worked efficiently and they consistently cleaned up each day. We are still amazed at how similar the replacement bricks match the original. Mak is a great business man! He responds to messages via the Yelp app quickly and goes above and beyond explaining every detail of the work being provided. He came out to my property, offered and estimate, and came back a second time to meet with my husband. We signed and received a copy of the contract. Mak and his crew excavated down to the foundation of our home and across the property line about 10 ft. out. The foundation was sealed, the chimney was tuck pointed, the perimeter of our home was sealed and he fixed a few chips on our front stairs. He even laid 4 limestone bricks under our windows to assure everything was sealed properly. We had a few flash flood warnings this summer and had ZERO water enter our basement. His crew cleans up after themselves, they focus on the work at hand and they keep to their schedule. I highly recommend Mak and his crew. They get the job done and Mak will come out to your property at different stages of the job. Maks and his crew worked very hard on our project. We had the chimney rebuilt (from the roof up) with a new custom crown and cap .. Spot tuckpointing on the lower part of the chimney .. coping stones installed and stoop poured by a rear stairwell .. and a limestone piece replaced under our front door. Overall I'm very happy with their work and I would hire them again. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that I wish they would have been better with caulking. There really is not a lot of visible caulk on this project but the two places that are very visible were done just sort of ok. The front door especially .. I would have liked to have seen a really tight straight line between the door frame and the limestone. I think maybe because they were working on a Saturday they were in a hurry to get going. read more

He and his partner fixed the front stairs. They are beautiful. He then put a water sealer on the stI asked him to take a look at the chimney crown. He said the bricks were fine but the crown needed replacement. He replaced the crown and extended the flu. I was unaware that the flu was not long enough. He found other minor problems as I was showing him areas of the house that I thought needed work. Maks did show me that some outside caulking was cracking and flaking off. I asked him to redo the outside caulk on the house. He did, and it never looked better. I am grateful that I found Stone and Brick Masonry Group. read more
