J&J Pavement was a fantastic choice for our new driveway, patio, sidewalk, and shed pad. We worked with Mike Deep who is the utmost professional, and one of the nicest and kindest men I've ever met. He listened to what we wanted and drafted a plan for us. We made a few tweaks to the plan and after that he took care of the permitting process. After the permit was ready the unfortunate timing of bad weather and a Union strike led to a long delay. It was not anything they could control and Mike made sure to communicate with us every week. He kept us informed of the delays. When the day finally came, Mike and his team were quite fun to watch as they prepped, poured, and finished our concrete. All inspections were passed and our outdoor space is more functional and enjoyable. Thank you Mike and the J&J Pavement personnel who worked on our project. I live in an older house that has had poor attempts at repairs over the last 50 years. I knew our driveway was going to be a problem. J&J knew exactly what to do, and planned for pretty much everything. We had several layers of asphalt on top of each other, and the driveway was not level. We also have a raised ranch with a tile drain that was replaced in concrete. There seems to be an "office staff" and "site staff" that communicates decently enough. And that's why I give 4 stars. I knew they were going to start the project soon, but I came home one day with the concrete portion ripped up... It was comical to me. When addressed, they apologized immediately, and made sure I was aware of every step the rest of the way. Except- at the end. I happened to be at work the last day of the job, and the workers explained to my mother-in-law that we could use the driveway by Saturday. I really wasn't sure if I needed to do anything, schedule a final inspection, or something or if it was ok for me to remove the tape/stakes. When trying to contact them, there was no answer or return phone call, but it WAS Saturday. Just the remainder of the bill emailed to us. So, we just started to use it, and are assuming nothing else needs to be done. I'm pretty sure I have to seal coat it in a few months, right?? Either way, besides those couple communication glitches, they did a great job. Kept everything clean, on time, friendly. Cost was comparable to other companies, but marginally on the higher side, but we used them because they were able to do both the concrete and asphalt portions. I especially love that they took time to explain everything to be at the beginning, but didn't waste my time. Quick-bam-estimate. Did the job, had glitches, but just figured it out and fixed it. Made my life so much easier. Would recommend! read more
