Myers) and terrible care at The Terraces (Bonita Springs) before my sister and I made the difficult decision to admit our mother to Avow Hospice in Naples. Thank god someone told us that Avow had just started admitting patients from Lee Country, and thank God a bed was available. Mom was quite suddenly at the end of her life, and we were unprepared to set up proper home care. Mom said she was glad when she arrived at Avow, and the next day she told us she felt the nurses cared about her. Thank you, Avow, for making Mom--and our family--feel safe and supported. They also gave her a drug that truly eased her suffering without causing her to be completely sedated. However, I did clash with one nurse who wanted to increase the dose right away and who implied I wanted to keep my mother alert when she needed to have pain relief. Other nurses and supervisors agreed to a lower dose. I know it's not easy to make these determinations, but don't be afraid to question what's happening and speak to whoever is in charge at the moment. I respect the expertise of health care professionals, yet every nurse will have their own preferences. Prior to Mom's arrival at Avow, she spent weeks at HealthPark hospital and 10 days at The Terraces. Care at The Terraces was just horrible, even when I was right there in the room. This facility is seriously understaffed, and I do feel sorry for the nurses, who are being put in a bad position. (Avoid this place if your loved one is very ill but being discharged and sent to rehab. It might be ok for someone there to rehab from a knee replacement.) Care at HealthPark was more frequent but still poor. My main complaint is lack of compassion, kindness, and professionalism at these places. I know it's easy to find fault, and I know understaffing is a serious problem. and yet health care is a higher calling and sick people deserve attention and care. I say all of this in order to compliment Avow, the only hospice I can report on. Nurses came frequently, they were compassionate to Mom and us. Thank you. Kindness was abundant and staff respected the gravity of the situation. My sister and I were impressed by the priest who made rounds. He was personal, and he wanted to know all about Mom's life. He wasn't put off when we told him that none of us, including Mom, still went to mass, and he didn't pressure us to do anything. I like to think Mom was comforted by the last rites he provided. Why not a 5 star review? A couple reasons: the TV/cable sitution is not great. This might sound unimportant, but my mother was awake and alert two evenings and wanted to watch TV. She said this. But there were many issues with the clicker, settings, and stations. Several staff tried to trouble shoot, but no one could solve the problems. Several stations were on the guide but not subscribed to, including, Turner Classic Movies, a channel that would provide a lot of comfort and familiarity to many patients. Another complaint is about follow through: during the one afternoon Mom was totally aware, she asked for her bed to be wheeled outside on the lanai. The nurse said she had to do something and would be right back but didn't return. So Mom never got to view the beautiful lake. Finally, the night Mom died, my sister and I felt pressured to call a funeral home immediately and to leave quickly. We felt we didn't have enough time with our mother and to gather up our things. It was the middle of the night, so I really don't understand why everything had to happen so quickly. We were in shock, devastated, and shouldn't have even been driving. Despite my criticisms, I believe the Avow facility is excellent and the staff are great. I am glad we brought Mom to the Naples location. I've also received many texts offering to provide support, and I appreciate that, too. I hope some of the shortcomings I've pointed out will be addressed for future patients and their loved ones.

I was told they would easily be able to make the cuts I needed by the latest September 1, 2026. By September 2, I heard nothing from them and emailed. They told me I was in the "Queue" and it would be done latest by September 3. Again, I heard nothing back, I then emailed on September 8, to check in, this time, they did not even answer me. So i called September 9 and they told me Eric would be able to get to it by September 11. So I just went in and picked it up because I wasn't going to waste any more time. When I went in, they did not have a care in the world for wasting my time or delaying my project. I highly suggest avoiding them unless you enjoy waiting.

The formed in order to create art, exhibit it, and teach art to others in the community. A public school art program was established that same year. In 1957, the Naples Art Association organized the first "Art in the Park." Still running today, it's thought to be Naples' oldest outdoor art show. In the 1970s, the Naples Art Association restored the Naples Depot with money they raised. They built studio spaces and held their first art exhibition in 1978. The next year they offered adult art classes and they continued providing educational programs at the Naples Depot until 1998. In 1980, their first annual spring art show was held in Cambier Park. As its known now, the Naples National Art Festival has become our largest fund raiser and is consistently rated among the top 10 art festivals in the country by Sunshine Artist Magazine.1980's In 1992, Naples Art began meeting with the Naples City Council for a lease agreement to provide 8,000 square feet of public land in Cambier Park to build a community art center. In 1995, city leaders signed an agreement and raised $3.5 million through private donations, including one from Suzanne and William von Liebig for whom the art center is named.1990's On November 22, 1998, Naples Art officially opened The von Liebig Art Center. Our 16,000 square foot, two-story facility features six studios, a main exhibition hall, rounds galleries, one of the area's largest art resource libraries, and a gift shop. Today their "mission is to enlighten, engage, educate, and enrich the community and to build on Naples Art's history and position of leadership as a hub of visual arts in Southwest Florida." Their vision is that "art can change lives and improve entire communities. The actual exhibit is small, art on display is from last years of Matisse when he was having health issues. Not that impressive. Nice activity if you want to spend about an hour or less here. I didn't like the guided tour because they took over a decent part of the exhibit, we had to come back to check it out later. I enjoyed the artwork in the lobby, modern, contemporary and bold. Otherwise, very noisy place, hard to concentrate on art and enjoy it! Check their site for hours and current exhibits! $15 admission, a tad steep since it's a small place!

I am writing to formally report an incident that occurred on Saturday, January 17, 2025, at…read moreapproximately 4:00 PM. While shopping, I observed multiple staff members who were restocking merchandise openly discussing, in front of customers, how they were removing the "good" items from the sales floor to take to the back and set aside in personal piles for one another. This was spoken about loudly and casually, as if it were standard practice. While doing so, these same employees repeatedly stepped directly in front of me and physically pushed past me to access racks I was actively browsing. This occurred multiple times and created an uncomfortable and disrespectful situation. The combination of staff hoarding merchandise for personal use and physically disregarding customers reflects a serious lapse in professionalism and store oversight. Customers should not be displaced or made uncomfortable so that staff can reserve merchandise for themselves. This behavior undermines trust, fairness, and the integrity of the store's operations, and leadership should be made aware.
