We also rented a golf cart for the weekend. Fun times! It is a campground, not a resort. So know what a campground is before you book. There are many RVs and small "park homes" (small trailer looking tiny homes). They seem to be converting PS into more upscale tiny homes right on the lake. A welcomed improvement from my perspective. Food was okay for the limited menu. They have stuff for the kids (hot dogs, grilled cheese, etc.). We also got grilled chicken Cesar wraps. I would hate to have to eat dinner out all week there as the food appeared to be so-so. The rum bucket was good! Will return next year!

Very disappointing resort experience -- especially if you come here to swim…read more I honestly don't understand how Point Sebago markets itself as a great lake vacation destination when the main swimming area at the resort is in such poor condition. The biggest disappointment was the swimming area. The water was extremely unclear, and the lake bottom was covered with so much vegetation that walking through it felt like stepping on a heavy plastic bag. It was unpleasant and honestly disgusting. Swimming should be one of the main attractions of a lake resort, yet we found ourselves avoiding the water. What makes this even more frustrating is that we visited other beaches around Sebago Lake and the water was significantly clearer and the swimming experience was much better. So this is not simply a "Sebago Lake" issue. It appears to be a problem with the resort's own swimming area and how it is maintained. If other parts of the lake can have clear, enjoyable water, there is no reason guests should have to accept this at a resort. The nighttime experience was also terrible. People were making noise until around 3 AM, despite the resort's stated quiet hours beginning at 11 PM. We contacted resort security because our family was trying to sleep, but unfortunately, nothing meaningful was done. What's the point of having quiet hours if they aren't enforced? We also looked into renting a boat but decided against it after being told that the rental boats did not have insurance coverage and that we would be responsible for damage. As inexperienced boaters, we obviously weren't comfortable taking that risk. I want to be fair: our cabin itself was okay, and Kate, the co-host, was genuinely kind and helpful. She listened to our concerns and did her best to help. My criticism is directed at the resort experience and management, not her. Overall, this was not the relaxing lake vacation we expected. The swimming area, lack of nighttime noise enforcement, and boat-rental situation were major disappointments. There are other places around Sebago Lake where you can enjoy much better water and a more pleasant experience. I would not recommend Point Sebago if swimming and a peaceful family vacation are your main reasons for coming here.

I won't list everything because it would be too long, and will just share the most serious. There were only 5 total campsites occupied during our stay (3 seasonal, 2 regular campers) and everyone we spoke to felt disappointed by the expectation from the web site vs. the very different reality. I hope to save someone else from making the mistake of booking this place. 1. There are no ponds, only swamps. See photos. The web site advertises 3 ponds, even referring to one as the "glamping pond." I promise they are swamps that are entirely taken over by invasive milfoil. Swimming is not only prohibited, but would be impossible and unsafe. As a side note, floats are not allowed in the pool (the only place to swim at this campground). 2. The layout is not at all like a campground. It is an open parking lot. There are no trees and no shade. The camp sites are like parking spots (see photos) with no trees or privacy between sites. 3. They advertise a schedule of activities for the kids. There were zero activities the entire week we were here. There is a rec room, which has tables/chairs, a tv, air hockey, and some board games. 4. Safety-there are no staff members that you will find if you need anything. There is a lady who works the front office but she is often not there. I turned on the oven in our cabin and it immediately started smoking due to sticky burned goop that was left by a previous guest, filling the cabin with smoke and setting off the fire alarm. No employee noticed or came. 5. Dog park-another deceiving part of the web site. It is a very small fenced circle with a tiny dog house in it. Be careful, the dog house has a hornets nest in it. 6. Since there is nothing to do at this campground, we found ourselves driving to off site activities daily. Most things are 45 minutes away. There is a nice beach about 15 minutes away. The nearest grocery store is about 15 minutes away (there is no camp store on site, they only sell ice at the office). I was really looking forward to floating in a lovely pond and enjoying a campground with all the amenities that are advertised here. The theme of the week was how we had been "scammed" and "catfished." We did our best to stay positive and make the best of it. My toddler enjoyed the playground and the bouncy house.

I had such great memories camping here as a kid, and it was so nice to relive them as an adult. It was just how I remember it, too. Very friendly staff, comfortable and clean sites and restrooms, and lots of things to do! The app that replaced paper schedules is easy to use and has all sorts of information on it that's helpful. There are so many activities. We didn't participate in very many but we did do the hayless hayride and tie-dye T-shirt making, and I made a beautiful spiral shirt with the help of Connor! During our week, the Grateful Campout event with Grateful Dead tribute bands was happening, and though we didn't purchase tickets we heard the music and it was awesome! The campground was nearly full, but was still very comfortable and relaxing. Camp store has everything you need during your vacation. I went in each morning to buy muffins, one of my favorite parts of camping here. They also sell homemade bread, whoopie pies and brownies (which I also snacked on), cookies, and creme horns, all homemade. Delicious! We also had a large pizza and mocktails from the Chub Pub Restaurant, and they were so good! We cooked the leftover pizza over the fire and enjoyed it all. The newly rebuilt Snack Shack serves breakfast, lunch, snacks, ice cream, and provides a huge interior picnic/activity area if the weather isn't great Staff are very friendly and willing to help, and they greet you like family. Amenities are plentiful as well. Restrooms throughout the campground, and two with full rows of showers. My only little nitpicks are that Restroom 2 was removed by the beach, and replaced with a few tiny private toilets and two small showers, which feel more temporary than permanent, and Restroom 1 also no longer has showers, meaning that side of the campground is nearest to Restroom 6, which is far from Otter Road and the outer areas. The shower heads in Restroom 4 take some getting used to, as they are just pipes that spray a stream of water, and may be better if they were replaced. We've already planned our next year's trip to AOW for two weeks, whereas this year we only did one week, which was not enough! Love it here.

This year I was convinced to join another couple families for their yearly trip to On the Saco Campground and I'm glad I did. It's not a huge place, but it's very well kept and VERY clean. No smelly outhouses or grimy bathrooms, both were maybe a little rustic but in good working order and again, very clean. My site was tree lined giving plenty of privacy, nicely mowed and had a fire ring. I don't know if they employ some kind of mosquito management but for a wooded site about 80ft from water, I didn't get one bite over my 3 night stay. There's a little store with pretty much any essential you may have forgotten for sale, small game room, washer/dryer, and dishwashing area. You can rent tubes and canoes, (I did both) and the staff is super friendly and helpful, (especially when we got caught in the rain and they came to pick us up earlier and at a different location than intended). They had some kind of activity everyday, I saw face painting one afternoon by the office, there was a glow stick parade one night, corn-hole tournament the next, and a movie night the third. A lot of Saco campground are shitshows, (I'm talking about you Fiddlehead!) full of wasted college kids, this place IS NOT THAT. If that's what you want, keep moving. However, if you're looking for a clean, friendly place that is definitely family friendly and a more peaceful but still fun experience I'd recommend On the Saco Family Campground for sure.

We got together here with most of our grown kids and their families this year. There are sites ranging from basic tent sites up to spaces for very large RVs, as well as cabins that go from "4 walls" rustic to a few that are almost a hotel room with a full bathroom, shower, air conditioning, and kitchenette. There is a playground for the young kids, access to a nice field in the back, kayaking, picnic and fishing areas along the river. There's railroad tracks that run through the back of the campground and a train often goes through at night. It's close and very loud and impressive, and while it may bother some people we looked forward to it coming through. The cabins we visited were very clean and well maintained as were all the bathrooms and the showers. The little campground store seemed to have everything you are likely to forget when you leave home. The real highlight of this place is the owners, who are some of the nicest people you can come across. They are pleasant and welcoming and went to great lengths to make our visits enjoyable. If you're looking for a deep wilderness-like experience this is probably not the place for you, but it doesn't pretend to be that. It's a really nice family friendly spot to spend some time, with plenty of stuff to keep the kids entertained.

I want to start off this review by saying how very thankful and impressed I was by the staff at…read morethis KOA. Extremely kind, accommodating and hard working. Every morning we'd wake up to them doing their rounds and maintaining the sites. They were all very kind to us and our dog. Overall the KOA is impressive. Lovely tent camping sites, a beautiful well maintained field for kids to play and clean facilities all around. When it comes to our site, we were disappointed. We were in site 18 which when parking to give ourselves a place to hangout next to the fire pit put us basically right on top of our neighbor. (Check out the pictures - the only view we had from our window was their camper) Our hangout spot near the fire pit was right next to our other neighbors so it basically felt like we were all hanging out together. The worst part for us was the highway right through the trees is highly trafficked at all hours of the day and night. Yes we heard tractor trailers at 3 am. It was so loud from traffic at times we couldn't hear each other speaking. This area of the KOA made us feel like we were at a rest stop on the side of the highway instead of in the beautiful wilderness camping. We would certainly return but without a doubt would need to upgrade to the much more beautiful spacious sites in the back. If you plan to camp in an RV spot we recommend you do the same!

Campground appears well maintained, owners are very nice and friendly. We camp as a family group in a couple of sites in a field area. It was perfect for our 4 family groups including grand children. They all loved the campground. Lots of space for bicycling and games. Nice playground, clean restrooms. You need to book early cause they sell out. They also have a nice store and are lose to larger hardware and grocery, and drugstore.
