I have been in the Chicago land area for over 36 years now, and have been fortunate enough to be able to purchase, and trade in a car every 3-4 years. i have dealt with several car dealerships on both the new, and the used when purchasing cars for my children, and i have to say the last 8 cars i have purchased from Napletons. My service for all my cars is performed there, and the only item i don't do at Napletons is tires. Not because of cost, but because Discount Tire will re-balance,and rotate my tires every 5,000 miles for FREE!. I try to always deal with Tim Hayes in Sales, and Cary Proper in service. i find dealing with the right people make a deal go much smoother, and cost less in the long run. if you are looking to save that extra $50 buy running to a dealer 10 miles away, don't waist your time unless you are unemployed, and your time is worthless, but then why are you buying a car anyway? Here is the way i see after a lot of practice, you deal with the sales department once, but you will deal with the service until you sell the car, maybe 4-5 years. so do yourself a favor, and look at the service department. Talk to the service coordinators, talk to the service guys, there is where your concern is. See if you can trust them. If you can trust them, the battle is won! this service department has been almost flawless with me since 2001. i have had 1 issue, and it was handled without me having to call more than once. where as the dealership i was dealing with before never called back, or wanted to hear about any problems!. Most people are intimidated with the whole buying process, a good salesman can see that. don't be afraid of telling them you are not comfortable with them ,and talk to someone else there. remember there is never a lack of salesman at a car dealership. i noticed one of the reviews was about a recall, i have received those also, and have talked directly to a service advisor at Napletons for that particular car i have. if you ask what needs to be done, or does is need to be done right now, I have always been told if parts were involved. It's all getting to the right people, and you are the only one that can do that! I will purchase more cars from Napletons, and continue to use their service department. One last thing, on one of my 2011 cars, I received 4 year free maintenance. Including all the manufacturers designated intervals. The last one was march of 2015 in which they changed my pollen filter at the time (last free service). when i called for march of 2016, they told me the service charge was $299.00, but after they received my car at the dealership, and inspecting the car, the service advisor called and told me the filters were all clean , and the service would only be $139.00. Now that's what i'm talking about. No other dealer would have done that. Treat the customer right and they will come back! and i do. read more

My Husband and I were looking to buy a bigger vehicle for our growing family and every dealership we went to in Rockford was lazy, disrespectful, pushy, and dishonest. As soon as we showed up to Napleton's John Arvites was there helping us with our needs. He was very considerate, kind, attentive and helpful. I have never had a good feeling while at a dealership and John gave us the confidence that we needed to purchase a new vehicle. With the help of Manager Dan B., they came up with a reasonable and affordable price that our family budget could afford while still getting the BEST and SAFEST vehicle for our family. We were very happy with the ease of the process and how comfortable the staff made us feel. However, when we came back the next day to get our Odyssey coated, I wanted to talk to the Owner to give Kudos to the wonderful people we dealt with and he told me to write reviews for the dealership. I do not believe that this is how you award people for work well done. I was very disappointed to hear that this is how he treats his employees. With that said, I still think that Napleton's has great employees and a great atmosphere and we are extremely happy with our decision to buy with them. I've purchased 3 brand new honda civics from this dealership. 1st one in 98 then 04 and 12. I couldn't be happier driving a honda. In between those purchases I tried chevy(09 traverse) which was nice but pricy and bad on gas, and toyota(10corrolla) which was ok minus the gas pedal recall until it got wrecked. and now I am so glad I came back to honda. I personally think the customer service is great and no pressure from the sales team. The last two I bought from Jon Vang, and I cant wait till I get into my next one(although I plan on driving this one till the wheels fall off) They go out of their way to get you the exact vehicle you want at a price you can afford. I also want to shout out to the service department who always fixes it right, especially my lady Tammy Morris for being fast, friendly, and reliable. Not sure why the negative reviews on Napletons. My mother has purchased 2 Audi's from them in recent years with no issues. If anything went wrong service related Gary Heckman has always been there to stand behind the product they sell. They have always provided an Audi replacement vehicle if there was any period in the shop. Great service in my opinion. Recently had my first personal experience with them and I have no complaints at all. I was allowed to test drive the vehicle that I wanted, and in no way at all felt pushed or pressured to take any steps that I did not want to. The sales consultant I was dealing with was Marc Dickson, and he was very helpful and knowledgeable about the vehicle, even though it was a used product outside of their normal dealings. It always has been, and always will be the first dealership that I check when shopping for a new or used vehicle. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a 2004 Subaru Forester from Napleton Auto Werks. Our salesman, Larry Bergquist, went out of his way to accomodate us in choosing our new vehicle. We initially came to see a vehicle we saw online, and he took us to the other facility to see that vehicle, which was sold before we got there. Larry was undaunted and took us through all three of their local lots looking at other vehicles that fit our search. We found the (our) Subaru that was in immaculate condition inside and out and just inside our price range. Our buying experience was very low pressure, and Larry was incredibly helpful in making sure we got everything we wanted in a vehicle and that we were well informed about the vehicle. This was my first experience with Napleton Auto. However, Tom Charter is the go to guy! I have bought several cars from Tom now. He used to work at another dealer. And when he moved, so did I. The latest vehicle was to be a company car. The boss told me to get something inexpensive and to do it fast. It needed to be big enough to haul a few cases of product as well as be comfortable enough to be behind the wheel up to 8 hours a day every day. I gave Tom everything the new vehicle should have. Within an hour he called me up to let me know he found what I needed. He got us a great price for a great car. I have never been disappointed with Tom's results. Normally when you walk into a dealership you feel pressured and that the salesmen will not leave you alone when you say "I am just looking". They really "RESPECT" that phrase, and they are not "PUSHY SALESMEN". They listen to your needs, and provide you with what you need and not what they want you to buy. My husband and I bought a Honda Accord at Napleton's. We have purchased many cars in the past, and have never had as good of a salesman as Chris Loch. He was not at all pushy. We are so thankful we were set up with Chris. His calm demeanor made us feel at ease and we appreciated that he did not come across as fake like many other salesman we have worked with. Though the sale of our car was complete and it was 6pm on a Saturday, Chris stuck around and got into our car with us to set up our blue tooth as well as explain the ins and outs of the car. He was not at all in a hurry or make us feel as if we were an inconvenience to him. I bought an accord and a civic within a month of each other. My salesman was Randy Lape and he handled all of my questions and specific automotive needs effortlessly and never made me feel like I was being "sold" a car. He was a very friendly easy to deal with guy. The entire staff there were really helpful and nice. But you would expect that from a dealership. It was the little things and going above and beyond when I needed a specific car for my wife. She wanted a tough to find color and interior.. Bought a brand new car from them this summer! Overall service was great! The finance department worked with me to get me a good rate and I was satisfied. Mike the salesman was very informative and pleasant to work with! They even located the car in the color that I wanted and shipped it to their location! I wasn't blown away, however, since having been in sales myself, I just wanted basics without the bells and whistles, and knew the procedure of buying something big like that very well! I would definitely recommend them as far as getting a new car, but sometimes it is good to let the customer decide what's best for them, especially when the customer knows what they want! :P read more

I had an 09 Honda Civic with absolutely no problems the entire duration I owned it and recently salesman; Marc Dickson helped me get my new 2012 Civic SI. We recently purchased a new 2012 Honda Pilot from Napletons. This is the third vehicle we have purchased from them since about 1990. Honda's are very reliable vehicles and we drive them for many miles. We have owned Accords, an Odessey Van and now the Pilot.
