I am incredibly disappointed with the service department at Kia of Carmel. My experience here was defined by poor time management, unfulfilled promises, and a severe lack of communication. My vehicle experienced an engine cooling issue on Memorial Day. I scheduled a confirmed appointment for Tuesday morning (May 26th) and dropped it off ahead of time. Unfortunately, it took this service center FOUR WHOLE DAYS just to pull my car into a bay for a basic diagnostic check. I was not kept up to speed with any updates until I bypassed the front desk and sent a direct email to the Service Manager, Jeremy Ball. Once Jeremy intervened, the car was immediately looked at, proving the department was capable of doing the work, but had simply let it sit. My assigned service advisor, Corey Copenhaver, was very difficult to communicate with. Corey explicitly promised updates via his direct text line over the weekend, but I was left completely in the dark. To make matters worse, the department ordered the incorrect temperature sensor, which delayed the repair even further into the following week. Communication stalled again, and my attempts to call the dealership resulted in being left on hold across multiple departments just trying to get a basic status update. It wasn't until I escalated the situation further by emailing the General Manager that the parts suddenly arrived and the repair was finally rushed through. The frustrations continued on day eight. Once the engine was finally disassembled, the technician discovered that the water pump was also shot and leaking, adding an unexpected $485 to the bill. If a vehicle sits in a diagnostic bay for four days for an overheating issue, a failing water pump should be noted during the initial inspection, not as a last-minute surprise a week later. Furthermore, the dealership promised a shuttle service to get me to work but failed to coordinate it, and later offered an afternoon shuttle back without confirming a definitive time. Corey also explicitly promised that after all these delays, the car would be washed, vacuumed, and returned "showroom ready." This was yet another empty promise, as the car was returned completely untouched. To top it all off, when I got home and inspected the engine myself, I discovered the technician didn't even bother to fill the coolant reservoir past the bare minimum line on a major, $1,100+ cooling system repair. Leaving a customer with low fluid after a total cooling overhaul is incredibly careless. The only saving grace was Service Manager Jeremy Ball, who stepped up and knocked $400 off the final bill to address the massive delays. While I appreciate his gesture, a discount does not make up for a week of structural incompetence and poor customer care. I advise taking your vehicle to an independent shop in the Carmel area instead of dealing with this service department. I will be contacting corporate management regarding this experience. read more

Poor purchasing experience. Salesperson did not know car. Before we bought car we asked about upcoming rebates and were told none planned and the car we bought was the only one in stock. That same day after we purchased car and drove it home got a call from dealership trying to sell us a car of different color WITH the rebate. We also did not get a charging cable which is standard at most Kia dealerships. Now, 11 months later they are refusing to honor the 12 month oil changes we were promised. I scheduled an appointment during my lunch break to test drive two vehicles and arrived on time. I provided the stock numbers for both vehicles when booking the appointment to make the process as smooth as possible. I also confirmed ahead of time that both vehicles were still available and communicated my limited availability due to my work schedule. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing. I asked several employees for Austin, the salesperson I had an appointment with, but no one seemed to know where he was or provide any updates. At one point, I was told someone would locate one of the vehicles I came to see, but after waiting, no one returned or followed up. After 25 minutes with no communication or assistance, I had to leave so I could return to work. I completely understand that dealerships can get busy, but when a customer takes the time to schedule an appointment, arrives on time, and communicates their availability, there should be some level of follow-through and respect for their time. I left feeling genuinely disrespected and as though my time and potential business were not valued. I was ready to purchase a vehicle and had made the effort to come in prepared, but this experience changed my impression of the dealership. If I could give 0 stars I definitely would. I still have not received a kep to unlock my wheels, but I was supposed to get one from Napleton Kia of Carmel!!! I took my car in for service and found out that Napleton Kia of Carmel is NOTORIOUS for putting After Market locks on the wheels, not giving the consumer the key for those locks, and telling customers that the wheel locks can't be removed to sell the car, because they're already on there....all to make sure that the customer comes to their shop ONLY for any work needed. This is BULL$H3T!!!!! I don't live close to this dealership and if I lived around the corner from it, I would go elsewhere!! After finding this out...I am stuck and can't even get my wheels rotated by anyone but this dealership, Napleton Kia of Carmel!!! After the ABSOLUTE HORRIBLE, long day I had during the purchase...why would I ever come back??? I just want the wheel locks Removed, or Give Me The Key I was supposed to get, and let me go where I want!! Napleton Kia of Carmel will never ever get my business or anyone I know AGAIN!! Michael was one of the rudest, most condescending people I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. We weren't asking for anything unusual. We simply wanted the out-the-door price on a used Honda Civic. I asked for it over and over again, probably 15 times, and every single time they either ignored the question, quoted only the sale price before taxes and fees and with a "trade in" I never agreed to, or acted like I was the one who didn't understand how buying a car works. They were doing everything possible to avoid giving us the actual number we needed to make an informed decision. The most insulting part was Michael's attitude. After repeatedly refusing to provide the out-the-door price, he LAUGHED at us and asked if he was "on Candid Camera," as if we were somehow ridiculous for expecting a dealership to tell us what a car costs. He was arrogant, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. He tried to make us feel stupid and got mad when it didn't work. After wasting our time, we never received the out-the-door price we had been asking for from the very beginning. We walked away and bought another car at a far better price with a far better experience. If your sales process depends on dodging simple questions and treating customers with contempt, you've earned this review. This is my first review I've ever done. Tried calling service for 2 weeks to get general maintenance on a new car I bought from them and was promised a service advisor would get back with me but never did. When I finally took my car to an auto shop to get the tires rotated as a 2nd option, the auto shop told me that there were lugnut wheel locks to which I was never given the key for. Kia then says to swing by to get a key which would take about 20minutes. 2 hours later I'm still sitting here. By the time you read this review I will still be here.... I purchased a 2020 Kia Telluride with an extended service contract from Napleton Kia of Carmel. After the vehicle was diagnosed with excessive oil consumption and I was advised the engine qualified for replacement, I was repeatedly told the repair was "waiting on warranty approval." Months later, the service contract administrator informed me that no claim had ever been submitted. Per my contract servicer I must return to the selling dealership for repairs which leaves me with a functionally unusable service contract as Napleton Kia of Carmel is unable apparently to use the contracts they sell right there in their dealership. After more than six months of delays, I filed a complaint with the Indiana Attorney General. During the investigation, the dealership made statements that I believe were inconsistent with my service records and prior communications. The Attorney General ultimately closed the file because it could not compel the dealership to provide a reasonable resolution, not because it determined the dealership was correct. My rental reimbursement, which the dealership agreed to in writing, also remains unpaid. My experience was one of poor communication, extensive delays, and a complete loss of confidence in the dealership's handling of a major warranty repair. Everything in the process was a form of trying to deceive. You are so exhausted by the time you go in and sign you just want out all costs. Lies, lies, lies. Watch out for the hokey warranty upgrade-they will try to charge you almost $220 a month EXTRA and when you tell them no they have their mystery deal-of $38 a month-LOL. I used to love going to Napleton Kia of Carmel and have purchased my last 3 vehicles from them; however, after this past week and trying to get my car serviced, I will not be going back there. The current staff of employees (service department staff, sales staff) have really gone downhill. They are all very unprofessionally groomed, all on their cell phones looking down and place finishing a text a priority before looking up an acknowledging your presence. I was so turned off by the lack of empathy or concern and disgusting attitudes that I have no desire to return there. I made an appointment for my regular maintenance and was told (when I made the appointment) that it would take approximately 90 minutes. When I arrived for my appointment, the line of cars was so long, I could not pull my vehicle up to the door. In past experience, a service rep hurries to your car and gets you checked in...no one ever came. I got out of my vehicle and walked into the service department where 3 agents were all slumped over, looking at their cell phones - it actually took several minutes for one of them to even realize I was standing there. When I inquired about the large number of cars outside and was this still going to be able to be done in around 90 minutes, the guy actually told me "no way." When I asked what was the point of making an appointment for a reserved time, he informed me they have no control over the number of appointments or cars that come in. He offered no solution or support or information assuring me my appointment would be honored....he was actually a real jerk! I walked out and immediately received a text stating my appointment had been cancelled. I decided to go into the showroom and ask to speak to the service department manager. Again, some young, unprofessional guy with dirty stringy hair, was so involved with his cell phone that I had to speak up first to get him acknowledge me. I asked if I could speak to the service department manager - he went back to the service area to find him, came back like 10 minutes later and said "he is in a Zoom meeting." Which I did not believe- I called back in again and spoke to another sales associate who took down my information and said he would have the sales department manager call me. The coward never called me. Long story short - I have no idea what happened to Napleton Kia Carmel. Gone is the great vibe, customer service and quality employees. It's very trashy now and won't be giving them my business ever again. read more

They need to invest in their service department and quality control from top to bottom, along with a serious customer service training program across the board. It is rare that any experience is worth my time to leave a negative review, but after dealing with this situation for over 2 months, I feel obligated to share my experience so others know what to expect. My vehicle has been in the shop since March, and from the beginning the communication and customer service have been extremely disappointing. Since March 19th, I have repeatedly been told by CC that he would follow up with me, provide updates, or arrange for a loaner vehicle that was supposedly being turned in "today." Day after day and week after week, I am given the same promises with absolutely no follow through. At this point, it genuinely feels like I'm being told whatever sounds good in the moment just to get me off the phone instead of anyone actually working toward a solution. The most frustrating part has been the complete lack of communication and accountability. I should not have to continuously chase people down just to get basic information about my own vehicle. There were multiple times where I was promised callbacks that never happened, updates that were never provided, and timelines that constantly changed without explanation. Every week I'm left with more unanswered questions and no real progress. Because of how poorly things were being handled, I finally reached out to the manager, J, hoping someone in leadership would step in and help get answers. Unfortunately, that experience was just as disappointing. Instead of taking ownership of the situation or attempting to help resolve anything, he seemed genuinely confused that I would even expect management involvement. I was also told he would be contacting me back to discuss everything, and that never happened either. No follow up, no accountability, and no concern for the amount of inconvenience this situation has caused. Being without my vehicle for this long has been stressful enough, but the constant runaround has made the entire experience significantly worse. Customers should not have to repeatedly beg for communication, updates, or basic professionalism. If your goal is to experience poor communication, endless excuses, unanswered calls, and never truly know what is happening with your vehicle, then this is definitely the place to go. read more

I was out of a car for about a week both times and no work has been done. I call the second time around taking my car here and I was told that the person who was supposed to work on my car was no longer with the company. The service department here is so unprofessional. My sister bought a "new" car here that already had 900 miles on it. The dealership claimed it was brand new, but later she found out it had actually been sold before -- just never registered. That's misleading and dishonest. On top of that, the car had damage that wasn't disclosed. Now with only 10,000 miles, she's already had major issues with the radiator, transmission, and now the car is shuttering again. For something sold as new, it's been nothing but a nightmare. The worst part? The dealership refuses to make it right. After my first review on 2/5/26, I was able to speak with Agnes at the corporate office about my experience. We did talk through the issues and were able to get a few things resolved, for the sake of privacy, I won't list it here, but I sincerely appreciate the follow-up and her attention to my concerns. My advice is this: If you plan to take your car to this dealership, just make sure you demand that they keep the lines of communication open with you about the service for your vehicle. I stopped in to get warranty information about my pre-owned Kia since I'm still within the 5 year/60000 timeline & the car needs a repair. The employees that greeted me were less than welcoming to say the least, as I had obviously interrupted their phone surfing. When one finally deigned to speak to someone in the financing department I was then told that they couldn't help me & I would have to take it to Carmax where I purchased the car. I hate to break it to you, but that's not how it works. The complete lack of knowledge & concern by the employees is ridiculous to say the least. I'm stoked I took the morning off to receive absolutely no help at all. Hopefully I can find another dealership where they actually care enough to assist customers instead of the pitiful reception I received at this dealership. I rarely leave reviews, but my experience with Napleton Kia's service department has been so frustrating and disappointing that I feel compelled to share it in the hopes that it helps others avoid the same mistake. I took my 2021 Kia Telluride in due to several loud popping noises coming from the wheel and tire area. After an entire day at the dealership, I was given a rental car and told the issue had been diagnosed. What followed was a recommendation of $4,800 in repairs--an outrageous number that included over $2,100 worth of services that were completely unnecessary. Many of these were for items not due until 100,000 miles, and my vehicle only had 70,000 on it. I opted to defer the unnecessary repairs and approved the following: an oil change, new brakes on all four wheels, new rear shocks and struts (covered under warranty), a brake fluid flush, and four new tires. Even after removing the excessive items, I still paid $2,700. Less than a week later, a new issue emerged. The vehicle began making a loud noise every time the brake pedal was touched. I scheduled a follow-up visit, and my wife spent another entire day at the dealership, only to be told they couldn't figure out what was wrong. They guessed it might be an axle--despite the noise only occurring when the brake pedal was pressed, not when the car was simply in motion. I clearly explained this, and my concern was dismissed. After this second wasted day, I called to speak with the service manager, Austin. Instead, a service advisor named Leon returned the call. I reiterated that I wanted to speak directly with a manager, not a rep, but was again brushed off and told I'd need to schedule yet another diagnostic appointment. At this point, I was fed up. I inspected the vehicle myself and discovered that when they had changed and turned my rotors, they had failed to properly clean them before reinstalling. Debris trapped between the rotor and the hub was causing the brake pad to press unevenly and make the loud noise. I removed the rotors, wire-brushed them clean, reinstalled them--and the noise was gone. I should not have had to do this myself after spending $2,700 on repairs. Their carelessness, lack of accountability, and poor communication from top to bottom was unacceptable. I will never return to Napleton Kia for service again, and I highly recommend others proceed with caution. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind--learn from my experience and go elsewhere. read more

I had a bad service experience at another Indianapolis-area dealer (to the point where I was told by Kia North America to find another dealer and get a second opinion) and found Napleton. This is their brand new location. Their old location was just down the street and was exactly what you think of when someone says crappy 1990s Kia dealership. It was small, dark, rundown with few amenities. The new location looks like an Apple Store. It's bright and cheery with lots of places to comfortably sit, enjoy their coffee, and plug in your electronic devices. read more

Stephen was a great salesperson, very eagar to show us all the features, was very knowledgeable about the car and secured us an excellent price. He was very easy to work with and a very pleasant young man. A bit of a bait and switch when we were finalizing financing (be warned) but perhaps an honest mistake. Great dealership. The car buying experience is often determined by the salespeople, and you'll find some pretty great guys here. Lenny in particular has been amazing - personable, responsive, and focused on ensuring you leave happy. We've purchased 3 cars from this dealership, and it's always been a positive experience. Especially in Finance, where they go out of their way to get you what you need at the payment you want without trying to tack on a ton of extra stuff. And don't worry about when you have to bring your car to be serviced - I have never met a nicer group of people. Lovely waiting area and everyone is so pleasant. 10/10 dealership! read more

Bought a vehicle and title work not done within the 30 days and in fact still not done. Expired temp plate. Cannot drive the vehicle due to no valid registration. Their solution was that if I got a ticket they would pay it. Then was told the date I bought the vehicle was a month later than I did so they were in the 30 day time window. No, that was NOT when I bought the vehicle. Sad you buy a vehicle and cannot drive it and the dealership has shown no interest I helping get it fixed. Called corporate ED Napleton. Nothing being done there. Contacted Kia who did nothing. Now have contacted Indiana Vehicle Division to try to get some help. read more

I just had the most extraordinary service experience of my life at Napleton Kia of Carmel! And it was all due to my Service Advisor, Andrew Hale! Upon checking in Andrew impressed me with his professionalism and knowledgeable, friendly eagerness to answer all my questions. He quoted me a wait time, and I settled in. He texted me a very few minutes after my quoted wait time with: Your vehicle is ready, everything looked great, it's going through a Wash. I said: Free wash? Well, that's a nice touch. Then he further advised me that since I had to wait longer than my quote--my service would be 'on the house.' What? Wow! Talk about above and beyond service! I really just cannot say enough about this stellar Kia associate! He will absolutely be my 'go to' for subsequent service. His 'powers that be' need to give this gentleman a raise. A BIG raise. I had a great experience here with Alan Alvarado! He immediately acknowledged me and my family as soon as we stepped out of our car when we arrived. Since I was here to look into a new car, he helped us check out cars and we were able to test drive a few as well. He was patient, flexible, and compassionate. He even speaks Spanish which was helpful for my parents. He was also able to show us around the dealership and answer questions about the services Kia provides. We ended up buying a car too :) I also recently returned to pick up the car we purchased since it arrived. Since Alan was not available at the time, we worked with Danny Rodriguez. He was friendly, kind, patient, relatable and also speaks Spanish! He helped me figure out how the new car functions and I appreciated that so much! Ask for a service estimate upfront! I was led to believe my service was routine. They briefly covered what work was going to be done on my car, barely covering cost, but since it was routine, I didn't think I had to question it. Lesson learned. When I came to pick up my car, I was shocked at the cost ($900) and felt blindsided. Was all the work necessary? I highly doubt it. Ask questions before they do the work! read more

My wife bought her new car here, which that process in itself was one of the worst experiences of both of our life's because of the dealership. Now she attempted to use her 2nd complimentary oil change voucher that came with the car. And apparently the dealership told her it's expired, even though she is getting the oil change at the frequency listed in the manual. How can a complimentary 2nd oil change expire prior to the time it takes for your car to reach that mileage? She drives her car daily and reached the scheduled maintenance right on time. And the cherry on top is that they say claim her alignment is off and she need to drop another $150 on top of the $150 oil change. She has zero issues with alignment and has never hit anything. This dealership takes advantage of women. If I was there I would not have let this happen because it is not right. At least she didn't buy the $120 cabin air filter they tried to sell her too. They sold us a junk car, a few months after buying a truck from them it started giving us engine problems, the worst thing is that we had bought an engine and transmission insurance with them and they didn't apply it, they said it was a maintenance problem, but the car doesn't work, how do they do maintenance?!!!
