I was too full at the moment to order more food, but I returned on my last evening in Oahu to order a slice of rainbow cake for myself. It was somewhat early in the evening -- probably around 6PM or so -- so the Royal Hawaiian Center food court was getting a little busy but there were still empty tables around. The bakery itself had a few people in line so I perused the display case for other desserts. They had quite a few interesting ones: lilikoi basque cheesecake, Diamond Head puff custard, ube cake. Unfortunately, my appetite is much smaller than it once was, but the cakes looked delicious and the people in front of me all ordered their cakes ahead of time, so they are quite in demand! The cashier took my order quickly and I was able to get a slice of rainbow cake, which had fluffy cream and moist layers of colorful cake. The flavor reminded me of fruity pebbles, but without being overly sweet the way children's cereal used to be. I really liked eating it because it didn't make me feel guilty eating a dessert. I hope I can return to Kulu Kulu sometime and try their other desserts a well!

The awning above will say Waikiki Tea. It's immediately after an open parking lot if you're walking or driving down the one way street. I'm not sure if you can park in there or not but I found loading zone parking so I parked there and walked over. When you enter, you'll see some indoor seating, the coffee prep area and a display case of some of their cakes. It's a cozy spot but clean and white. My most recent visit was to pick up a birthday cake for a friend. He's been talking about it so I figured it would be something nice to surprise him with. Hopefully he enjoys the surprise and is able to share the cake with all his loved ones. Due to the holidays, Lady M is busy and sells out so preordering is best. I was just extremely lucky they had a Signature cake available the day I called. The person on the phone took down my info and asked what time I was going to pick up the cake then put it on the side for me. Unfortunately, they don't hand write Happy Birthday on the cake but they did provide me a complimentary Happy Birthday cake topper which was nice. Overall great cake option for any occasion.

They have 3 free parking stalls. You can also find street parking either on Beach Walk or Saratoga Road. I walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile. His name is Kevin. You will also see a wide selection of Royce Chocolates display on the right side of the wall and in front of you the glass display of the world's famous Mille Crêpes. Kevin helped us decide on our black box Royce Chocolates. It's a little pricey but the black quality of the chocolate is divinely melt in your mouth full of rich, creamy goodness and delicious chocolate!!! Royce' is famous for the Nama chocolates all the way from Japan. But guess what?! You don't need to fly to Japan to get your hands on them! Just drive yourself to Beach Walk in Waikiki and I guarantee you'll thank me for it!! Yup, you will! ;) We also picked up a few flavors of the Lady M Mille Crêpes. We got Amedei Chocolate, Pistachio, Chestnut and Tiramisu. Each layers of the cake is made with perfection!!! I paired mine with an ice caramel macchiato. It would probably taste better with a hot caramel macchiato but it was a little sunny so I opted for the ice drink. The coffee is also sooo good!!! It almost remind me of the coffee I had in France! I thought I'd never find a better caramel macchiato here in Honolulu than Starbucks! I was completely wrong! Kevin, thank you so much for making my first visit so memorable! Her baked goods are never overly sweet and pair perfectly with a cafe drink. What makes this concept so unique is that the bakery and cafe are both located in the same area. It just makes it that much easier to enjoy very delectable baked goods and drinks when you don't need to go very far. Service is always warm and friendly, and the owner is so kind and helpful. I always like to make my way here because the interior decoration is beautiful with live plants. It definitely gives a serene feel as if you're in a Ghibli film. Every time I come here I just feel so relaxed. 5 stars always and everyone should come visit at least once to sample their goods!

I thought i'd just buy one or two pastries but i bought six. Yes all six just for me! For lunch i got a jalapeño cream cheese pastry and a cheese hot dog. Both were great, the jalapeño cream cheese pastry has jalapeños inside that are quite hot but blends w the cream cheese really well. I enjoyed it. I also got a hokkaido custard pastry which was nice, light and fluffy and not too sweet which I liked. I also enjoyed an ube pastry with an ube filling on the inside. I thought the chocolate chip bowl was interesting, powdered sugar fills the middle of the pastry so it looks like a bowl, this pastry was a little more dense and not as light. Lastly i got the cream cheese pastry with the round blobs of creme cheese on the top, a bit sweet with the sugar crystals but so good, Make sure to check the app, i had a buy one pastry and get one 50% off coupon. In the box were some mochi egg tarts. At first bite, OMG, it was delicious! The tart is the same size of the ones they sell at dim sum restaurants. Crust is nice and flakey, filling is mochi, and topped by a layer of egg custard with a brow sugar glaze. The combination of the mochi with the egg custard complemented each other nicely & making me want more. I will definitely check this place out the next time I'm in the area. They also have a Kapolei location. From their website pics, they have a lot more goodies & I'm sure it'll be hard to decide which ones to choose.

I selected three and my favorite would be the haupia brioche buns. The bread was soft. The haupia wasn't overwhelmingly coconut-y and there were small coconut pieces on top. This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
