The single scoop is $6.80 while the double scoop is $1 more so that is a better deal or if you're with someone, just split a double scoop to make it more affordable than two single scoops. There was a good amount of choices in flavors, around 20+. Next time I'll have to take a Lactaid pill and try the dairy flavors!

This store had its soft opening in October 2022 and has expanded to another store in Kapolei August 2023. 85 hails from Taiwan and started business in 1984. They offer quality baked goods using Asian ingredients such as taro, mochi, sesame and pork sung (floss) and boba. There's also an extensive list of hot and cold drinks you can get here. There are over 1000 locations internationally with most of them in Taiwan and China. They can also be found in Hong Kong, Australia and USA. Like most bakeries, limited quantities of baked goods are offered during the morning and highly recommended to come here earlier in the day for a better selection. Most of my visits are sadly in the afternoon after work but my last visit was memorable. My friends and I just got through celebrating a friend's birthday at a nearby restaurant where on the way back to my car I made a pitstop to here. As expected the shelves were quite bare with limited offerings but they had what I wanted: marble taro. I had just eaten dinner and was full but picked one for the road and paired it with a taro lavender latte. I literally had no room in my stomach even though over an hour had passed since I got home so I had the roll and drink for breakfast the next morning. The marble taro roll was just as good as I remembered. It was soft with a nice texture contrast with the creamy, mashed taro paste in between. It had just a good amount of sweetness where I could indulge and not feel guilty. The star had to be the taro lavender latte which I didn't have high expectations for. I like to sample drinks with lavender as I do enjoy floral essence as it's not offered at many places. I had requested my drink to be 50% sweet, which was the right decision as I need to watch my sugar intake. Service was above average. It wasn't busy when I arrived so the line moved quickly. The guy at the counter was energetic and courteous which made my experience there pleasant. It was past 7pm where there were some people utilizing the dining area but it was quiet. 85 can be very lively during peak hours with heavy foot traffic. Overall, I'm a fan of 85 where I'll be sure to stop by again. Just need to be careful as my numbers for sugar and cholesterol are being monitored and I'm currently on medication.

In the box were some mochi egg tarts. At first bite, OMG, it was delicious! The tart is the same size of the ones they sell at dim sum restaurants. Crust is nice and flakey, filling is mochi, and topped by a layer of egg custard with a brow sugar glaze. The combination of the mochi with the egg custard complemented each other nicely & making me want more. I will definitely check this place out the next time I'm in the area. They also have a Kapolei location. From their website pics, they have a lot more goodies & I'm sure it'll be hard to decide which ones to choose.

You can usually find folks sitting at the indoor counter doing work on their laptops or chatting on their sidewalk area where they have several bistro tables laid out. There are usually several folks working the counter which makes service even faster. I have never once been disappointed in my regular order (iced soy latte) or by the pastries we tried (the kimchi spam croissant is especially delicious!). In my experience, the staff has always been kind, interactive, and welcoming. I also appreciate their small gift area where I bought some cute merchandise they have displayed (including a Baggu bag and an insulated bag) along with some of their delicious coffee beans to use when I am making coffee at home. I also appreciate their rewards program as I have gotten $5 off my order or a free energy bite based on the amount of points I have. When I am in the area, this is my go-to place for coffee and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area!

Seating wise, there are 8 chairs all at a connected counter facing the walls of the shop. Probably best to go by yourself or one/two people if you plan on eating/drinking inside. There are also chairs and tables in front of the shop as well as in the back. Decent amount of parking in the back of the building and it's reserved for Honolulu Coffee customers - 1st hour is free. There's also metered parking in front of the shop. Here's a breakdown of what I ordered: Iced Local Latte (16oz - $9.40): I like my coffee drinks sweet and this drink definitely hit the mark. I was surprised that I could actually taste the distinct honey flavor while drinking my drink (yes, even after stirring my straw and not just sipping from the bottom unmixed). If you're a traditional coffee enjoyer, you might want to go for one of their pour overs instead since this drink was pretty sweet (to my personal liking though!). If you're the type to usually order frappuccinos from Starbucks over regular coffee, this drink's for you. Spinach Dip Quiche ($13.75): Served warm in a compostable container. It's got a nice crispy crunch! The cheeses, egg, and spinach blends nicely with each other for a nice savory bite. Not too salty, not overly cheesy. Definitely filling enough for me to call it a breakfast instead of a small snack.
