85 Degree Bakery Cafe Ala Moana branch. They have a great selection of both Savory and Sweet pastries and breads. Beside the pastries and breads they have a beautiful selection of cakes, teas, and drinks . My personal favorite is their Egg Tart and the Spicy Sausage Roll. This month's Specials include the Strawberry Salted Butter Bread and the Macadamia Tart. Both were delicious . Excellent customer service. I like the layout of this Bakery. As you enter there's the drink station to your right, straight ahead is the bakery and refrigerated section and then the checkouts. They also have a cozy area to sit and enjoy your drinks and pastries. Definitely recommended especially when you need a break from your hectic shopping trip.

Love coming here!! Low-key wish they open sooner tho. My go to drink is their Vietnamese Coffee ( coffee can be strong to those who never had viet coffee before) with sea salt cream or jasmine green tea with sea salt! All their pastries are yummy and their cakes are top tier! Their strawberry shortcake is a must try!! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming as well.

Thx for making such a delicious cake for my son's 21st birthday! He loved it! I ordered it from Los Angeles through door dash and it was excecuted to perfection!

As I'm late to the 85C bakery party, my general thoughts are that the bakery is clean and nice, items are fresh and tasty (mochi custard tarts and pineapple cake) and service is quite professional! I also had a pretty strong iced Americano! Bakery is Japanese style with a Chinese twist. You either pick up pastries on a plastic platter and pay at the register while ordering drinks or you go on their app and order ahead of time. If on the app, the order will be ready at the left side of the bakery. You can order cakes at the register too. It may get crowded later so try to get there early if you are looking for mango custard or some other specialty. If you park on the uncovered 3rd floor parking lot floor of Ala Moana (mountain/Diamond Head), it's the closest to Macy's but below the Hookipa terrace restaurant floor.

Drinks are great and love their mochi egg tarts! Staff members are so helpful as well and I love the available seating. They also usually have promotions and deals

    Free Magnet from Strawberry Festival

85 Degrees in Ala Moana Shopping Center is located on the 3rd floor, near the restaurants and across the parking lot from Target. There are a small dining area available for customers or mall patrons which is nicer than the store front-only spots. Currently, they are doing a Strawberry Festival special, where you can get a free magnet with a purchase of 2 strawberry drinks. I got their strawberry matcha latte (3/5) with an added espresso shot since I needed the caffeine boost. The drink was okay, I think the Strawberry de Leche drink would taste less generic considering it seems like a strawberry milk drink. I only came and purchased the drinks for the magnet which was super cute but also smaller than expected (approximately size of a quarter-ish). Drinks were meh but I like that they have seasonal specials like this to make it interesting.

Awesome ice coffee and pretty good pastries! We come here often as my wife loves the Hokkaido cream buns. I usually just get their house iced coffee. Service is usually spot on and trays are refilled with fresh pastries. If you go past 11am, selection is minimal and it's probably going to disappoint you. Go early.

Stopped in for a quick treat and everything was so good! The iced matcha latte was perfectly balanced -- smooth, lightly sweet, and not overly bitter. Super refreshing and just what I needed. The taro filling bread was soft and fluffy with a generous amount of creamy taro inside -- subtly sweet and so comforting. And the sausage pastry? Buttery, flaky, and savory with a juicy sausage center that made it impossible to eat just one bite. Such a yummy combo of sweet and savory. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for an afternoon pick-me-up!

The mango cake was so soft and creamy, light and fluffy, contrasting with the sour, sweet & crunchiness of the fresh mango pieces-it was heavenly delicious and achieved just the perfect amount of sweetness. Hubby loved it for his birthday, and I can eat the entire cake if it was my last day on earth. I went to pick it up by walk and the cake was placed nicely in a paper box with easy to carry handles. The store staff let me skip the line for my online order and asked for my name to find my order quickly- so smooth.

This bakery is popular on the continental US and it was in So Cal when I was first introduced to 85 Degree C Bakery. This bakery was born in Taiwan so the actual eateries are pretty much French Asian, that is if there is such a classification of baked goods. In addition to their loose pastries and cakes, they bake their own bread. The bread is pretty darn good! They have coffee and tea beverages as well. The service is pretty straight forward; pick your pastries, take your tray to the cashier, pay for it and off you go. The beverages however is not quite that simple. While you can grab a seat while you wait for your beverage, you may lose your order because someone else might be given your order OR you may be too far to hear them call your number, name or beverage description. located in the Ala Moana Center Roof Top level, they are below Macaroni Grill and in the old Pearl location.

Service was quick. My questions were answered. The selection seems a bit limited. Drinks are refreshing. My timing is off - I don't see any specials of the day.

When is the best time to call because the phone just keeps ringing? I live on the other side of the island and don't have the flexibility to walk in. No one answers the phone.

I'm not sure, but they just opened a new location in Kapolei, if that is more convenient for you.

Are there only certain days they sell taro bread now? I keep coming by to check and they never seem to have it

They are very random with their selection. As far as my experience, they have told me they continue to sell what does well the days before. I have been told we can call to check in the morning but my calls have never been answered...

Do they schedule to bake salted butter breads? If so, what day do they bake them? Does anyone know?

Hello, we do not have a set schedule, the best way would be to check directly with the store manager!

What time will the cakes hit the shelves?

Hello, we put out new cakes throughout the day as they are sold. We recommend contacting the store directly if visiting for something specific or ordering ahead through our online ordering platform: https://order.85cbakerycafe.com/

How does one order a cake from them? I've tried calling at different times of the day, no answer. There is no online ordering for Hawaii (I get no match when trying). Just walk in?

Just walk in. I would not even stand in line. Explain that they don't answer their phone that's why.

This might be one of the only places in Waikiki open at 4 AM which is perfect if you've just arrived the night before from the East Coast. The inside of the shop feels homey. They have a display case full of pastries along with additional baked goods set out nearby. For my coffee on this morning I decided to go with a coconut latte and then ordered a blueberry malasada while my father went with a custard-filled one. At Maleko, the malasadas are pre-made but not filled until you order which I think is a smart move. I first tried my blueberry malasada and thought it was good. The dough was light and fluffy and the filling had a great flavor. As for my coffee, I have to agree with other reviews that the syrup made it overly sweet. I still drank it, but I definitely would have preferred something less sweet. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again for the malasadas. As for the coffee, I would probably pass unless you prefer your drinks on the sweeter side.

I came in because I saw that they had vegan donuts. He said I could do guava, blueberry, or plain,…read morebut he recommended the guava. It was less than three dollars including tax, so definitely affordable. The guava filling was great, but the donut itself was kind of bland. If it weren't so cheap, I would have given it three stars. But it was a good deal and I might go back.

This is the only standing Kulu Kulu and I hope this place does not close, or if it does relocate, come closer to Central Oahu where the rent is cheaper, haha (hint). This location is on the outer edges of Waikiki on Hobron Lane in Eaton Square. I rarely venture to Waikiki, and if I do make the dreaded drive to "town", this place and Kan Sushi will be the only regular places where I will make my stop(s), because its so worth it. I've had a long-standing love-affair with Kulu Kulu from the Shirokiya Food Court location with it's waffle bears and Hello Kitty waffles, the takeout Nama Chocolate cups stocked at Mitsuwa Marketplace and now here, in town. The Ube Coconut Mousse $6.95 blew our minds, it was THE best tasting thing, ever. Both the ube and the coconut were not cloying, and as with all of their treats, not overly sweet either. That's why I love Japanese pastries, they get the sweetness just perfect and I have no idea how they mastermind that ratio! Strawberry Panna Cotta $5.95 was creamy, flavorful, delicious and surprisingly light and refreshing for such a creamy dessert. I normally don't get this kind of combination of flavors, and it tasted like something you'd get in a Michellin-rated establishment. Looking back at the photos, I see vanilla bean seeds in the panna cotta, so every loving detail and nuance shows through with each mouthful. Nama Chocolate $5.75 is my go-to chocolate LOVE. It's cut into cool creamy semi-sweet squares dusted with cocoa and it melts in your mouth! This is my favorite of all things that Kulu Kulu makes. I actually enjoy this better than the famous Royce Chocolates from Japan. We ordered another seasonal Strawberry dessert slice cake but it was eaten before I could review (and/or taste it); I've heard it was very very delicious. This place is so good that I plan to bring my friends who will be visiting from Virginia here to try their pastries. I also plan to support this business for as long as I can and make more frequent trips to town just to get these amazing desserts.
