We had dinner here in late summer and were blown away by the menu and service. Our teen sons were really happy with the variety and we had such a great evening. From the cocktails to the apps, then some pretty stellar entrees, I had zero complaints. We made a reservation because we knew that being a more upscale place in such a "remote" area, it would probably be busy. And we knew to expect the prices $$$ as we checked ahead to see the menu and dress code. Being a restaurant on the lake, we didn't want to show up in bathing suits and cover ups if that was not the vibe, so I'm glad we checked. We finished our lake activities late afternoon and were showered and dressed (khaki shorts, polos for the guys and a sundress for me) and felt like we were appropriately attired. Because of the pricing I don't think I would take small children there, but as a once in a while treat with our teens I am looking forward to going again! Definitely will happen this winter as we won't be on the water once it gets cold out and sometimes you just need a treat and a change of scenery compared to most of the casual dining options around SML.

We sat on the back deck overlooking the lake and loved the service, atmosphere, and food. My husband had the Chilean sea bass and I had the duck- both were excellent. The sweet potato mash was to die for. Their chocolate torte was very yummy. Great drinks and wine list, too. This is my favorite restaurant at SML.

3 stars because their on to something, yet they are a pinch away from 5 stars due to their lacking in excellence in the categories of service and food preparation. Is this a good spot for dinner after a long day in the water? Yes. Will it blow you away? Almost. They've got the right ingredients. Their food is flavorful. They've just got to do a better job at measuring out how much of each ingredient is used in the dishes. For example, the pesto was so salty I drank 4 cups of water. The chefs recommendation was a medium rare cooked duck, but it was cooked well done. Salad was drenched in Balsamic because the chicken was dry. The scallops were the only dish I wouldn't complain about :) Like I said- it's all flavorful. It just needs to be executed to a higher standard.

We live in bedford so not super close but not far and love to eat on the lake when we go out. Tried this place for the first time today and this is definitely a new favorite. Host's were very welcoming, our waitress was very kind and catering, and our food was phenomenal. Points for not only how amazing the food tasted but the presentation was very appealing. Will definitely be back soon!

Josh was the best server we have ever had!! The food was so good and this place is a must!!

We really enjoyed our meal and Josh was an excellent server. I highly recommend trying their newest desert, the red velvet cake.

Food and drinks were terrible. Pasta was swimming in sauce, mozzarella sticks were grainy, drinks were poorly prepared. Not worth it.

The food is ok, not great , but we enjoyed the atmosphere. The service with the bartender was mediocre but at the table was good.

Website states creative cocktails yet they don't serve frozen drinks or Moscow mules. Our waitress didn't know the difference between a whiskey sour and a gin and tonic. One in our party had his heart set on a low country boil that was pictured in one of the websites. He was told they didn't have it. Also the price of scallops over risotto ($49) and a martini ($13.95) is more than I pay at the beach at an upscale restaurant. I will say that all of us thoroughly enjoyed our food. The side salads were nice. After we finished our meal our plates remained on the table until our waitress appeared and ask how we wanted our checks. Never mentioned dessert or coffee, etc. We told her that one of us wanted dessert and another a coffee. When we did receive our checks 2 of them were wrong. Also, was charged for 2 sides when the menu clearly stated 2 sides included. We just paid it and left frustrated. I say all this because management needs to properly train their wait staff and also update the web pages.

Due to…read moreit being the soft opening, it wasn't very crowded, which meant the amount of service was phenomenal. Abby was very attentive and came to the table frequently to check in and do refills. To start off this dining experience, we ordered the crab bites and a couple of clam chowder. First off, the clam chowder was great. It was one of their special items for the week, so it may not be available every visit. The crab bites were just okay in my opinion. The remoulade they were served with did have a good flavor though. I probably wouldn't order this appetizer again on a future visit. I've had a couple of people tell me to try the hushpuppy basket on my next visit. For the main course, I had jambalaya and would definitely have it again. The sausage, shrimp, and chicken were perfectly seasoned with all the Creole spices you want and expect with jambalaya. The people with me had fish and chips, crab cakes, and the Low Country boil with crab legs. Everyone was pleased with their main courses and agreed that they would come back to try more items. Overall, I would say this was a good new option in Lynchburg that's definitely worth a try, especially if you're a seafood lover. Can't wait to see how this restaurant develops after this soft opening week.
