Have been hearing about Napoli for the couple weeks they've been open, they're close to work so I stopped in for lunch one day. Its a small place, definitely focused more on take out with just 2 small tables inside. You might miss the place if you don't know what to look for - inside the same building as Big Bowl chinese, next to Dunkin', but there is a sign out front. My first time, I got a chicken & greens sub, with chicken cutlets and Utica greens. Very good, the greens could've used some more heat for me but the owner, who's right at the counter making all the pizza, told me you can always tells them you want more heat when it comes to the greens and they'll accommodate. I'll remember that for next time. Decided I obviously had to try the pizza and wings. Ordered just a normal 16" thin crust with pepperoni and 10 hot buffalo wings. I pre-ordered it for a certain time and it was ready when I showed up. $36 for a large 1 topping and 10 wings. Everything was delicious. The pizza is pretty much perfect, perfectly cooked, thin crust, the right amount of sauce, cheese and toppings. The wings were good too, but these are not your normal Franks and butter buffalo wings. I finally went to Napoli for dinner rather than lunch, which meant I was able to get their square Grandma's pie. The dough needs time to rise, hence lunchtime is too early to order one. And a round Grandma's is not a true Grandma's, and not an option. I found Napoli's square Grandma's pie to be an experience. It is beautiful to look at; a true work of pizza art. The taste of the ingredients in your mouth is an explosion pizza greatness; you can taste the quality. The crust is perfect with a thin, crisp sub-bottom that transitions into wonderful airy deliciousness topped by fresh mozzarella and a sauce that brings it all together into a crescendo of pizza nirvana. This was so bad that I was after reading the good reviews and went there to get a pizza to go. Maybe they put sauce on the other pizzas. The one I had had so little that you needed a magnifying glass to find the cheese was a little burned and tasted terrible. What little sauce there was tasted terrible. The dough was so dense on the margarita I was thinking they make the dough fresh daily. Maybe they don't serve the fresh dough daily finally it was so bad that I'm compelled to write a screenplay comedy about people that go to places based on fantastic reviews, which is why we tried this Place Now I will say this I only tried it once If I ever drive by and see it, I might go in and try it again just to see if it's edible. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I did stop one Sunday, but they were closed today and an absolute freezing day. I stopped on my way home from work not planning on ordering a whole pizza. They did have plenty of slices to choose from, but the grandma pizza intrigued me so I ordered a whole one and waited about 15 minutes for them to prepare it fresh and I am not disappointed. Fresh mozzarella fresh herbs it was an amazing pizza and the price was not bad. Either the establishment is very clean and everyone is very friendly. Found this place on accident and I'm happy about it. First thing I noticed on the menu was a tomato pie. The owner said it would take some time because he makes it from scratch. I said ok and decided to eat a plain slice while I waited. No flop at all on the slice. The undercarriage was impeccable. Just a great cheese slice. Being the fatty I am I noticed they had cannolis that they fill there. I decided to get one of those too. I'd give the cannoli 3 1/2 stars. I took the tomato pie home later and warmed it up. It was excellent, just as good as any Utica place. The owner was super friendly as well as his worker. The place is small but very clean and a few tables to eat inside if need be. Their chicken riggies were delicious! Tender chicken in a sauce that was perfect! I paired it with their garlic bread with cheese and the portions were big. Enough to have leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Oh! And yes they gave a slice for free of their Tomato Pie and it was amazing! The crust was perfect and the flavor of the sauce was perfect! I've never had either dishes before because I'm from Long Island. I've have got to say the pie crust was like Long Island and Brooklyn pies. I highly recommend them! If you know you know! 5 STARS! NAPOLI PIZZERIA_- No risk, all reward!!! "Pizza Crazy" family that first gets their nod from the Queen of our crew... discovered a new pizza shop that is 10 out of 10 on our DROOL factor! I stopped by a new shop that has been on the list of my wife's passion to find great pizza. Our pizza ratings are based on the HOPE that sauce, cheese, and toppings are of the highest quality, flavor and continuity. The primary gauge to us is that after eating a slice to the crust, that the crust is not just a leftover edge of the medium that caries all the goods, but more so, the dessert that establishes the final memory of the delicious foodie experience. I walked into a clean, organized and well thought out pizza shop and found an attentive, pleasant, young counter person ready to immediately wait on me. Those facts alone, nowadays, set this place above 97% of restaurants in CNY. As I ordered a slice of pepperoni, I observed a neatly dressed gentleman hand spreading pizza dough near the front of the shop. He worked with obvious experience, calm and efficient, likely from many decades of experience. I began to speak to whom I believed was the owner. He never introduced himself as the owner. He simply and kindly answered my questions relating to the ingredients while he manipulated the dough. He appeared to be a throwback proprietor, genuinely honest, knowledgeable and acutely displaying the pride of a professional. This also ranks near the top 1% from our experiences. The interaction was satisfying, and the pizza was eventually purchased, packaged and brought out to my wife. To be clear... there is a private and specific reason she is always the test pilot. IT is her "foodie" gift to the world (but mostly just our family and friends, lol) If she raves... it is a guaranteed GRAN SLAM!!! Then, the delightful drool and chomping is shared by us all. I unwrapped the slice and handed it to her... the overall presentation was like a poster for pizza perfection. One important factor our family requires is no burnt dough bubbles. We may be on the far side of the popular product that many brick and wood fired ovens provide, but we take no joy in burnt or charred dough. That being said, the slice had the perfect color and expected ratio of crust that we desire. The flavor of the crust was very enjoyable, and finished with the highest degree of bite pull and chew. It provided the finishing dessert that we crave. This was also NOT a "bready" or underdeveloped crust. It was an attentive creation. The dough rates as the top 0.01% in the area. The sauce was skillfully simple, and on point. The cheese was as excellent as we have ever experienced, and the quality could not be better outside of Italy. The pepperoni was wonderfully rich and of great quality. The remaining variable, especially in CNY, is the CONSISTENCY FACTOR, of which we can only continue to devour their pizza and have the hope that NAPOLI PIZZERIA becomes a community staple for as long as time is recorded.
