Core has some pretty good salads and a wide variety of fresh ingredients and combinations. The problem is with the service. I have only been to the Buckley road location, so I can't speak for others. But almost every time I order online (20+ times), my order is missing something. Sometimes it's missing something small, but then there's times where there literally isn't any salad dressing. Or, sometimes it's even the items you pay extra for, like avocado or a hard boiled egg. Today I found myself with a Chicken Cobb minus the chicken. I would order from here more if my orders weren't wrong 80% of the time, but there aren't many local quick-stop salad bars around. Went on 5/30/26. My all-time favorite salad (Siracha Ginger Tofu and Quinoa was horrible. First they started with the wrong lettuce but at least caught that mistake, then they put marinated bean sprouts, took those off (by left some), then they added yellow-colored tofu that was not cooked (nasty), then they had no idea what dressing went on this, had to tell them carrot chili before they put some barbecue something on it. There was so much dressing that my salad was floating in it. I ordered the rosemary potatoes and they were half potatoes, no wedges. It all tasted horrible. The interaction of employees looked like no one knew what they were doing. I think I'll either drive to Dewitt next time or wait at least a month before going back. read more

Someone from management needs to come in and help these poor folks. The other Core locations are fantastic, but this one on Buckley road is really poorly managed. It's dirty inside, everyone is standing around, they don't know how to use the rice cooker because the rice is often severely undercooked (tooth crackers), the meat is dry and overcooked, and the dressings aren't mixed properly (too much salt, under seasoned, etc). Been going to this location since they opened. While I love their food, it keeps getting more expensive and I ordered a side of pita and hummus. Definitely my favorite salad shop! I always go here when I'm craving a salad. My all time favorite is the Steak Bacon and Bleu salad... it's sooo good! Honestly you can't go wrong with any of their options, or you can just make your own! They have a lot of toppings and dressings to choose from as well. Personally, I find the salads to be a little bit on the pricier side. The regular size bowl doesn't fill me up so I always opt for the large. If I'm going for lunch, that's definitely enough. Although, if I'm getting dinner I usually also get double protein. Every time I've been there, everyone has been so friendly and the service has been great. They have a lot of indoor and some outdoor seating options. Corelife Eatery is a nice place with good food, solid selection of choices with a chill atmosphere. I think if you're looking to spice up your salad game, you'll really enjoy it here. I always find it to be enjoyable here, with quick service, good energy and a nice place to chill for a bit, cafe style. I don't believe there is necessarily anything mind-blowing here and I say I know for sure their claims about "healthy" or not, but I do think it's easy for assumptions to be made that salads are "healthy". You do need to be careful with that as you start doing all the fun add ons which will start to change at minimum the calorie intake you see on the menu. And those sugary drinks at the fountain, woah! This location can be crazy busy at times or at least it was before Covid started. Today was easy to get in and room to sit and eat. I am sure as things warm up and things open up more it will go back to super busy. Right now it's easy and delicious. The spicy thia chicken noodle bowl has become my new favorite. It's fresh spicy and a little sweet from the cashew dressing. The large bowl will fill you up and make you sweat a little. If you like fresh and healthy lunches you need to start coming here. I have always enjoyed Core since they opened years ago, but I was really disappointed with my meal today. I ordered the large Korean BBQ Pork bowl. I watched them make it and had to tell the person putting the lid on that it was missing 2 ingredients. The amount of meat for a large size was no more than I've had on the regular size and it tasted tough and dry. I was loyal to CORE from opening we went weekly if not more. Went back a few time post Covid and just not the same smaller menu, portions and higher prices. Was craving it today so tried again took 20 minutes to get a salad now I understand that but there was not much of a line ( like the old days when it wrapped around the dining room) maybe 5 people ahead of us. 1 girl ordering. 1 salad preparer (who never looked up when asked if she could make additions to my salad) one dressing person and 1 cashier. That is 4 people working but I counted a total of 13 walking around not helping at all!!! Plus they were out of Steak!!! I love the idea of this spot. Everything is fresh and marketed as locally sourced, grass fed, all the good buzz words. However, flavor was not what I hoped for. I had the spicy ginger steak broth bowl, and there was intense ginger flavor. That pretty much consumed everything. The broth wasn't super flavorful, or maybe it was the heavy ginger that kept me from tasting it. The steak didn't have much flavor either. Even the spicy rice noodles! I wonder if the flavor washes off into the broth or after being streamed, but it was really strange. I'd skip on broth bowls. My wife tried a spicy chicken and rice noodle salad bowl. It was definitely more flavorful -- a solid option. Again, I love the idea of this place and the fact that veggies can be steamed and you can get creative with the menu. I have stopped in at Core a few times since it opened. A lot of the people from my workplace love it there and tend to go often because of the healthy choices they offer and the close proximity to the office. I really like the fact that there are so many healthy options and with the "make your own" the possibilities are endless. This really appeals to the part of me that likes to try new things. Today I had the Thai Chicken and Rice Noodles. I love Thai food, but I found this to be not a hugely exciting dish. I guess I could have added things, but I am trying to work my way through their menu offerings first. Last time I had their Tuna Poke, which I really enjoyed. They also offer a number of very healthy drink options...some taste better than others. I have tried a few. None too sweet. Nothing really there for a sweet tooth. If you want to "be bad" you need to step outside and check out the ice cream stand right there on the premises. So to love this place you have to really love vegetables. There is some meat and seafood choices, but mostly veggies...some noodles, some beans...you know...really healthy stuff. The prices are okay I guess. Seems to come in between about $12-$13 for a bowl and a drink each time I have ordered something here. It is also very crowded at lunch time. I have not come by other times of the day, but the line is long between 11-1:00. They have things down to a science though and move things right along. So, I have still to try their bone broths. I absolutely love this place. A friend's dad who is a highly successful veteran franchise owner has been looking for a new concept and I've begged him to check out Core. The owners are in the healthcare industry and have create an eating establishment that serves truly excellent food in terms of nutritional value and flavor. Similar to the concept restaurants of Chipotle and Cava Grill, you go through a line to order your food and each line person puts your dish together, based on your preferences. There are two awesome differences however with Core that stand them out from the rest. 1. All of their salad dressings are made from scratch using fresh juices. 2. All of their organic produce is produced locally, supporting local farmers. You can go for a Grain, Broth, or Greens. The broth used for their soups is organic bone broth, one of the most nutrient dense and anti-inflammatory ingredients that is highly beneficial to one's health. I normally opt for Greens-love their salads, but I had to try their Ahi Tuna Poke which was grain-based. Now, I should have taken a picture of the ingredient list, as it's not listed on the website, but to give you an idea it was quinoa, greens, edamame, avocado, onions, etc. plus at least a cup of fresh ahi tuna poke and black sesame seeds in a fresh ginger-miso dressing. I ordered the dish as it was listed and it was phenomenal, although the dressing was slightly too salty. My mom did a bone broth soup with grilled chicken and said the chicken was to die for. The broth was only lightly seasoned (better for you), so she added extra salt. I got a fruit punch coconut water and she had the lemonade. Delicious. We were both full but felt energized, as only real food can make you. If I didn't live several states away, I'd be here daily for a meal. Why cook when you can get fresh from scratch, no preservatives, minimally processed, organic meal for under $12? I wish Core was nationwide! I go to Core all the time. It's right up the street from my house so it's a perfect place to go. I love all the different selections but I've narrowed it down to a few favorites. The Tuna Poke is awesome. I love the spicy chicken bowl; the steak, bacon and bleu bowl is really good and the spicy noodles are amazing. Def. a must have. The dressings are also really good too. I love the Sriracha & Thai Cashew together. Also, I love ordering a broth cup. Usually the chicken bone broth or the chipotle chicken. Very tasty. Despite the long lines they usually go by pretty fast and I've only had one time where I've had to wait a considerable amount of time even though I had ordered ahead. They have messed up my order a few times (again usually on the online orders) but they are quick to fix their mistakes either by making a new order or sending a gift card. Sometimes they really fill up the bowls and other times they don't put as much in there I think it just depends on who is making it. Still, I really like Core and it's def. worth the money. I went there today to a different location about an hour from my house as we were out of town. I really liked the atmosphere of that one too. Now that I'm thinking about Core. Ok so I forget that we gave CoreLife which is an absolute shame. I just went here with a couple of friends and thought to myself, "why don't I come here more often?" Honestly, because it's like a hybrid of Panera and Chipotle and Whole Foods. I love that CoreLife has hot and cold options, bone broths, grains, salads, and refreshing lemonades (I typically get the Tropical Coconut Punch one). I haven't been here in over a year, but in my most recent visit, I had the spicy steak bone broth. In my daring choice (I always stick to tried and true)I had expectations that this would be pretty good--a tasty little vacation from what I'm used to. Guys this blew me alway. First of all, the lady doused my bowl with Sriracha, which I did ask for, and it was a bit heavy. Anyways that totally didn't matter because though it was quite spicy, the broth was decadent and bombastic. I don't know how they make their beef broth so flavorful? I've made stock/broth before, but I would go to CoreLife just to purchase their broth it's so good. You could make "semi-homemade" soup with it. Okay, so even the stuff in the broth was amazing. The beef was incredibly tender, not a pulled pork tender, as if you had cooked it in a crock pot, but almost as if they just know how to cook steak. I searched for those cubes of steak throughout this delightful journey. It had broccoli, carrots, kale, rice noodles, and other seasoning which I'm sorry I can't name but I remember that somehow, someway this dish was elevated. There was supposed to be almonds, I believe, but I don't think it had any, and they weren't overly missed. It almost, just somewhat, reminded me of ramen. Guys I will be coming back in the fall and winter to have this soup. I'm even more excited to keep pushing myself to try other new dishes. I got a half slice of bread, which wasn't much, but it really didn't matter because this meal was heartwarming and fresh and filling on its own. I also had the punch and my total was only around $12. Which is wayyyy better than Panera (in my opinion). Idk. They also have an ice cream shop right next door. And this place is located next to Hafner's. I've been to Core twice now, and have pretty much only good things to say! There are pre-set menu options, and then there's the build your own option too. The choices of veggies are almost overwhelming - but fortunately, the workers are very helpful in guiding you! The first time I went, I ordered the pre-set "Spicy Ginger Steak and Rice Noodle Bone Broth" - the shredded kale was a little overwhelming for me, and since I was expecting an Asian themed bowl, it threw me for a loop. However, it wasn't bad - the broth was delicious, everything was fresh, huge portions, etc. The second time I went, I decided to make my own bone broth, with similar components found in the bowl I got last time, but instead swapped the noodles for rice, chose spinach, added cilantro, etc. - I was much happier with what I chose and very thankful for the patient workers who let me know what my options were. The homemade lemonades are very good (although, be warned: the blueberry mint lemonade is very minty!) , and they also have iced coffee which I've tried and loved! A piece of bread also comes with the meal :) The only thing I noticed that they could improve on was the efficiency of the line (they have paper menus for people to look at options, but for building your own, they don't list out all the options/exactly what components you can have in the bowl, so it takes longer as people have to ask a lot of questions) and when I went, they were still fairly new, so the workers were a bit slow on determining what went into the bowls/the procedures for broth vs. grain bowls, etc. The ambience of the restaurant is unique - a casual, cool, hipsterish vibe & there's also outdoor seating. You can also create your own bowl for as low as $5.55. It's fast and convenient -- taking up to 10 minutes between walking in the door and getting your food. The meals are complete in themselves, made with ingredients free of trans fats, GMOs and artificial additives. In addition, their meats are sustainably raised and do not contain antibiotics or hormones. I came on a cold day for an early lunch when a salad or soup sounded really good to me. CORE had been recommended to me by several people, so I decided to give it a try. It's a beautiful space. When you walk in, it's a huge open space with wood floors, wood accents and a huge chalkboard wall in the back of the restaurant. The counter is impressive to look at as well, with the shelves of brightly colored fresh veggies right behind the employees waiting to make your dish. I considered making my own bowl, but instead went for the spicy ginger steak bone broth bowl with rice noodles. I also got a lemonade as a drink, as I'm a huge lemonade lover and it's hard to find good, fresh made stuff. The portions are generous...they definitely load you with fresh veggies, nuts, all that good stuff. The flavor, in my opinion, was underwhelming. I expected a much fuller, bolder flavor from the broth after reading their website. This particular dish even had a generous amount of Sriracha sauce in it, but I didn't find it very spicy at all. It was a very small portion of meat...cut in pieces so small I really couldn't get much of a flavor from it. I was very impressed with the freshness of the vegetables though. The lemonade was great. They had a couple different varieties, and I tried a cranberry cayenne lemonade which was AMAZING. Sweet, tart with a little kick of heat at the end from the cayenne. Interesting flavor mix, but extremely tasty. So...underwhelmed. But I do intend to come back to try a salad. Absolutely applaud by the service we received today. Did an online order for pick up for noon arrive at the location looking for our order, no where to be found. I proceeded to ask where it is, the response was "it had been stolen" mind you this was $100 dollar order. So, they need to remake it all, as they are preparing the food again one of the girls is VAPING as preparing the food. Being extremely rude because they have to make this order again. Offered no type of compensation. At this point it has been over an hour waiting for our food. As someone who works in a service industry. I am completely and underly disappointed.
