Going to be honest here - I have lived in this area for 20 yeas and Sam Remo's used to be very good but over this past couple years, its gone way downhill. the new owner or cook cannot make a good pizza. So I can go in every week they're very friendly to me, but every week seems to be a problem with the wings. Passing through town and stopped in for dinner. Got medium wings and they were very good! Not blue cheese lovers but the blue cheese dip with the wings was excellent!!! And I can honestly say this is the best pizza (and wings) in Syracuse!! We have family in town and have had pizza from a variety of places and it was all meh or worse. Consistently good! Before and during (and probably after) the pandemic, their food and service has been great. Originally from Buffalo, I have a certain preference in pizza that is hard to find in Syracuse, but was pleasantly surprised that this is what I like about pizza. We've only ever had our orders delivered, so I'm not sure what the restaurant atmosphere is like, but bonus, they offer online ordering and contactless delivery. The hidden gem of San Remo is their blue cheese dipping sauce. Just trust me, order extra! We've ordered pizza, wings and sides more than a dozen times and have never been disappointed--even on busy Football Sundays! read more

This will be a short review. I tried this place 2 times this month. I only tried their cheese pizza. It was very good. Fresh ingredients and thin like I like it. The crust had a nice crunch to it. I'm talking with the man at the counter he told me they make their own blue cheese dressing. I decided to get a small cup of it and bring home with me. I added it to a salad and I have to say it's the best I have ever had. I am going to go back and get some wings just so I can have more of this dressing. read more

I have been ordering from San Remo's since I moved to my current house 2 blocks away in 1991....yes that is correct 1991 more than 30 years. Best place for Char-grilled wings around-pizza has always been excellent and the blue cheese is home made so its thick and sticks to your wings and absolutely delicious. I sampled my usual from local pizza joints: 2 plain cheese slices. They have a "special: with 2 slices and a soda for $5.00. Two slices are $3.50 by themselves so, what is so special about a soda for $1.50?? The people were nice and friendly but their pizza was quite different. I ordered 2 slices to eat in and the already prepared slices were reheated. I was called when the slices were ready and I was surprised to see the slices presented to me in a small to go box. I sat down at a red and white checkered tablecloth table and opened my box of pizza. It looked good but once I went to pick up a slice, I immediately felt a hot, soft, soggy, floppy crust. This took thin crust to the extreme...no texture, flavor, no bite or chewiness. What a disappointment. I ate one slice and tossed the other in the garbage and left. Pretty good spot for local Liverpool residents. We recently moved and it's certainly convenient. It's not the best wings or pizza we've had -- I prefer legit NY style but it's close enough! I do enjoy hey have pizza logs- nice treat that many places don't have. We've also tried their steak sandwich and buffalo charbroil fries- sandwich was alright- a little greasy and the fries weren't my cup of tea. My husband liked them but I don't care for charbroil. I'd say give it a try- they are fri fly, prompt and it's good food. read more

I am pretty fussy when it comes to pizza & wings and I have to say San Remo's pizza on Buckley Road in Liverpool has met the mark. The first time I ordered, I ordered a buffalo chicken wing pizza. Not only was the pizza hot upon delivery, the entire pizza was so incredibly flavorful! It reminds of me of pizza from NYC. I've also ordered wings, hot, mild, honey garlic and bbq on various occasions. YOu have a choice of regular, charbroiled, extra crispy or extra extra crispy. Each time I order extra crispy and they have been cooked perfectly. I would definitely give San Remo's a try the next time you're in the mood for pizza/wings. They also offer pasta dishes and subs which I have not tried yet, but I imagine they are just as good. You won't be disappointed! read more

They have brick oven NY style pizza with very good wings. Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza is unique and very flavorful. Pepperoni pie was very good too. I am a Blu cheese freak, and liked their variation of it. I hate that a lot of places are using fake synthetic tasting blu cheese. It absolutely grosses me out when I eat a wing covered in that nasty fake blu cheese. I cannot go back to a place that sells that kind of stuff. Their blu cheese is not the typical, and I liked the taste. It might be a home-made recipe because I have never tasted this brand before. I also like to grab an old school bottled soda when I go in there. Why does the soda taste so much better in the glass bottle? I ordered from here when we first moved into our new house and the pizza was very under cooked. We decided to give them a second chance. Unfortunately, we were disappointed again. This time we ordered two cheese pizzas. I explained to the person on the phone about the pizza being under cooked last time and requested it be cooked a little longer. The pizzas were burnt and instead of 2 cheese, they gave us one cheese one pepperoni. Even if the pepperoni pizza were edible, we don't care for pepperoni. This was a huge waste of money. I may as well have just lit $30 on fire and watched it burn. Furthermore, the individuals working in this establishment did not have very good hygiene. We just moved to this area and received a coupon addressed to us with our last name on the coupon! I thought that was a really clever way to reach out to us as well as the free large pie w/ 2 toppings. I'm always nervous to try pizza bc I grew up and moved up from NYC, but their pizza was pretty good! I'll definitely give it 5/5- the girl who answered the phone was courteous. We picked up since they didn't deliver to where we lived but it was worth the 15 minute drive. I paid $28 and some change, took the food home, 2 mins. from restaurant. The pizza was way under cooked, doughy inside and not even a little browned on the bottom - gooey and cold... yuck!! The wings were nice and crispy but they were swimming in red colored grease - no flavor to the sauce at all!! Old, brown on the edges celery with a disgusting tasting "blue cheese dip??" This was one of the worst meals I've ever had to pay for. Straight into the trash can it all went - so gross!! You'd think that a pizza place that's been in business for almost 20 years would be able to cook a good pie and wings. We will never again spend our hard earned money at San Remo on Buckley Road in Liverpool NY .........
