We chose this restaurant because it was on Sarasota Magazines top restaurant list. We arrived at the restaurant and valet parking is the only option due to the limited parking space.... Our waiter was Carlos and he was top notch. All of the waitstaff were super friendly and courteous .... Bread was brought to the table with roasted eggplant. Our meals were good but we all agreed that the roasted potatoes were the best. I had a taste of the veal and thought it was a bit tough.... My chicken was good but I was not a fan of the roasted pepper on it. This restaurant is definitely worth the visit... I think I will try the wood fried pizza next time. I've been here 3 times now and have loved every experience. This is my favorite Italian restaurant for special occasions. The atmosphere is very warm and perfect for a date night or celebration. It's beautiful inside with dark wood, brick, and metal accents. I've gotten pasta every time. My last visit I had the pappardelle with a pistachio cream and speck toppings. The pasta was served al dente which I believe is how it's supposed to be cooked. It was so creamy and flavorful. My friends got the pizza and wow! it was just as delicious! I might have to get my own pizza next time. Also, worth mentioning, is the complimentary from-scratch bread and roasted eggplant that comes at the beginning of the meal. 5/5 great experience with high-quality, authentic food, great service, and great atmosphere. read more

This place is so good, very loud so talk loudly lol. The restaurant is beautiful the service was amazing and the food was super authentic. I can't believe the servers were walking the food up the stairs very impressive. You can see the chefs cooking I love the open kitchen concept and they have a cold case for meats and cheeses and cut everything fresh per order. I'm so excited they will be opening another location on st Armand's circle as I live far from this location, however they do a fantastic job and they valet your car here very nice touch!! Very much enjoy the pizza and Napule. Our absolute favorites are the pistachio pizza. (Trust me it's awesome) and the prosciutto pizza

How is this place so good? The pizza, the pasta, the desserts... it just doesn't stop. Pretty much all of their ingredients are imported from Italy, and then they make the everything from scratch in the kitchen, including the bread, pasta, pizza, desserts- you name it, it's freshly made. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Everything is divine. We came for dinner and had to come right back for lunch the following day. read more

My wife loves Italian food and the more authentic, the better. We had an anniversary upcoming, and what better choice could I find? We had driven past Napule many times, and it was always filled evenings. My wife had commented several times that she would like to try the food there, and I made reservations to surprise her. When we arrived at 6:30, the valet was up and a requirement for parking. Their lot is small, and the valets were quite creative in parking cars. When I made my reservations, I had asked for a booth. When we entered, it was obvious there were no booths and no comfortable chairs either. I assumed they were going for a more "authentic" look, or the stereotyped look that some have of an Italian restaurant in some rustic community. We were shown to our table and our waitress, Angela (not the real name of our waitress) introduced herself and offered to help us through the menu. My wife was at home and needed no assistance, I did. When I go out, it's not just for food; it's the entire restaurant experience. And Angela was smiles and chatty. She was married and had two children; her husband worked in another industry, and she and her family were still adjusting to life here. We talked about our son and his family, and how we doted on the grands. It was clear we were among family here. Eventually we ordered. I asked for the fritto di strada regardless of my doctor's disapproval. But good street food for me is fried. For my entrée, I ordered the grigliata mista di carne. My wife began with insalate naturale, and her entrée was saltimbocca di vitello alla romana. Fresh bread arrived accompanied with butter and an eggplant bruschetta. With the arrival of each course, Angela stopped by to check on us, but by now the restaurant was filling up rapidly and she was very busy. The manager came by to see if we were happy with everything, and he agreed to take our picture. Remember, it was an anniversary for us. As we were asking for our bill, a large cannoli appeared as an anniversary gift. Anything we couldn't finish had been packed away for us in containers which were brought to us in a bag. To say the food was good isn't sufficient, it was wonderful. Everything was fresh and authentic. I could give a dish by dish commentary, but it would be superfluous. And Angela added greatly to the experience by making us feel comfortable and at home. Will we return? Oh yes. That tells you we're fans. Very good food and reasonable prices are the draw here. I just wish the attitude of some of the staff was more welcoming. One example, my wife arrived by herself to an empty restaurant, and the hostess insisted on seating my wife at a high top. My wife walked out. The owner ran after my wife into the parking lot and asked her to return, as he recognized her from several earlier visits. Why employ junior staff who have attitudes? We ordered to-go, so I couldn't see for myself the rustic ambiance my family often boasts about- (but they opted for using Napule for their wedding rehearsal dinner, so I'll end up inside eventually) We chose to split the pistachio pizza (ham, pistachio chunks, pistachio crème', over a white sauce)-the sausage & onion pizza, an arugula & prosciutto pizza, the tiramisu, cannoli, and lemon sponge cake- Menu entrees are a bit on the pricier side; some entrees our family ordered looked a bit tinier than I would have wanted in an individual entrée- but I do think the pizza was worth the price tag. The 12' personal pie was a filling meal- each had thick fluffy brick oven charred dough loaded with toppings- Specifically though I wish the pistachio pizza had more crème'- the ham really took over flavor-wise, if we dined in I would have requested more on the side. The red sauce on the sausage & onion was a bit tangy for my taste). And the prosciutto needed to be cut up a bit better The desserts weren't as appetizing, so I'd say not worth the price tag- the tiramisu was dry-needing more soaked coffee, the cannoli shell was soft & soggy, and the lemon sponge cake was overpowered by a zestiness that tasted more lemon tartness ruining the creamy sponge. The restaurant is very vintage and pretty. They have a big screen and second loor service. They are well know for the pizza but we tried the pasta and the salmon. Both delicious. How often can you say, everything was perfect? Not often unfortunately. I am a foodie and it's difficult to find an outstanding place. I am picky, no doubt. Napule is outstanding. They have a sign at the store which reads after you've experienced them you are now family. No more true words have ever been spoken. The staff at this restaurant is like no group I have ever encountered. Alejandro comes over and has a conversation with you as though he new you forever, as though you are family. He makes you feel so welcomed. Maurice stops by just to make sure you are doing ok and see if you need anything. The waiters are just super knowledgeable about the food on the menu and the wines you can select from. Andreano has to be the best waiter, I personally have ever had. Magnificently wonderful. But honestly all the waiters are brilliant. The food is real Italian cuisine. Nothing phony here. You can taste the exquisiteness of these meals. Real Chefs, quality products, creativity in their selections. It makes for perfection. We enjoyed a wonderful Lasagna, a Gnocchi to die for, a perfect bottle of Montepulciano Dama wine. Napule you had me at Bread and egg plant at each table,,, yum yum, Delicious. The place has a New York Little Italy vibe to it. Beautiful bar area with a slick warm wood counter and chairs. A creative pizza section to the side of the restaurant. You can watch the guys in the kitchen cook the food if you'd like that. I do and I do. It's so entertaining to watch pro's at work. Outstanding food and good customer service We sat on upstairs and had a good view of the wall TV (and outside too). As the only vegan, I had the lentil soup and the gluten free wheat pasta with the house marina sauce. The lentil soup was delicious, and the penne pasta was hearty but good. Service was a little slow (as we came on Friday night) and the waiter was kind enough to offer free dessert. Pro tip - make a reservation as it can be busy. So we walked in and went to the bar because we were a little early. 16 dollars and change for a glass of red wine - are you fucking kidding me???!!!, along with water that tastes like swill from a pool???!!! Get a fucking water filter!!! Got seated at our table, and it took 20 minutes til our server came and took our drink order. Took another 20 minutes til we got the drinks and 5 more minutes til she brought us some very fresh tasty bread. You should think twice about serving frozen butter! It's impossible to spread!!! Another 20 minutes til the server took our appetizer order. Carpaccio was pretty good, and the pizza we ordered was also good tasting with fluffy airy crust, but the entire center was like a wet noodle with zero structure and impossible to pick up. The server never came to ask how we liked our food or to refill our water glasses - just horrible service!!! We got a free dessert as we had just gotten married earlier that day and it was a nice gesture, buuuuuuut - it didn't look like tiramisu or taste like it at all, in fact it didn't have any taste at all. Glad we got it for free!!!, because it was extremely disappointing!!! All in all, the place was super loud, there were three tables around us with dirty dishes that took almost a half hour to clean, ok food, beyond horrible service, and ridiculously over priced for what the food was and the quality of it!!! This was my 3rd time dining here. Today was quite a special day as my husband and I were celebrating our 5years anniversary. For the 1st time we were seated on the 2nd level, which was a beautiful view. As always the food is good the atmosphere and ambiance is nice. Our service from Javier was good. However, I must say I was disappointed that the owner (not Alessandro) who usually checks in on all guest, didn't do so with my table. What made it more obvious was the owner checked with a table next to us and looked at my table and left just downstairs never to be seen again. Not cool. We did have another guy (perhaps the manager or supervisor) that was pleasant in seeing how we were doing. Overall, I like this place. DO NOT PARK NEXT DOOR IN THE STRIP MALL YOU WILL BE TOWED AND HAVE TO SPEND ABOUT $250 PLUS UBER OVER TO TOW YARD WITH TWO DOBERMEN GUARDS. The food was absolutely amazing and we would love to come back but considering the parking situation we will not until management properly address this issue with their hosts, servers and staff. We should have been asked by an employee at anytime if our car was parked in the valet (only option). Someone else who rode with us because their car was also towed said they were asked. It is negligent to not warn your customers when you don't have adequate parking for the customers and as both back and front entrances to the building were blocked up, we had no choice but to pull in to park next door in the strip mall. This is an ongoing feud with the next door property instead of just renting the spaces from them and not having many many customers towed each night. We had a 9pm reservation. My car was towed at 9:41 and we left the restaurant at 10:30. Not very good to come outside after a wonderful meal to a missing car especially when we already drove 45minutes to come to the restaurant. It's lovely that the restaurant employees are mostly Italian but please, PLEASE start asking every customer where they parked. An extra $250 on top of dinner is not a fun way to end the evening. read more

I visited Napulé for my first time yesterday. I started with an espresso martini and asked for them to add a little Baileys and it was absolutely delicious. My friend and I shared the Caesar salad with fresh Parmesan shaved on top and we both ordered the lasagna. It was truly one of the best lasagnas I've had in a long time and enough to take half home. I had such high hopes for an authentic Italian meal. Boy, were we really disappointed. Where do I begin? Loud, not an Italian working that I could see, scrambling with workers, cutting open frozen bags of food, microwave glowing meal after meal, and serving calamari that was ordered as octopus. Yes, people know the difference. Having just returned from a long holiday in Italy, any resemblance between real Italian food and this was Obvious. Calamari disguised , meatballs dense and rubbery, bland tasteless sausage, sauce with that has an out of a can taste, and a pizza that was lackluster at best. I usually am easy to make happy when it comes to Italian food. But, not today. My family owned Italian restaurants for years and I work as a cook for years. This was just plain overpriced, defrosted, microwaved mess. So sad. I have never written a review before, so I am not a serial complainer. This just needed to be said. We too are from NYC, loyal patrons of the delicious veal dishes long ago at Benitos II (two) on mulberry. Not Italian, but cook my friend N. Mangelleti's sauce her mom's way. VERY impressed with the costly elegant " rustic", sophisticated build out and imaginative decor. The wood fire oven was encrusted with the most expensive tiny iridescent gold mosaic tiles sold on the market and the flume was very architectural. Very sharp. Bar counter area roomy, appealing and esp cozy by the wood oven. Vaulted ceilings going up 25+ feet give the dining area a wonderful open free relaxing feel. They have an upstairs loft dining area looking down to the main floor plus a nice front " garden created" outside patio facing Tamiami Trail. Our first visit. Tables a bit close, large birthday celebrating group carousing merrily very loudly, of course no masks inside. A lot of yelling with no acoustics. Atmosphere is boisterous fun with extensive wine and special creative cocktail menus so patrons are naturally happy, loud. If you are Covid oriented, eat upstairs in the loft or on the patio. Menu is VERY impressive. This is no pizzeria! Very gourmet Italian menu. Fun to study explore. A young edgey urban millennial crowd some with families, most with great happy friends. Many regulars of course. We tried for starts, just the pizza with prosciutto de parma, mozzarella, sauce and fresh parmesan with added kalamata olives. We sat 5 feet from the brick clay oven and curiously our pizza arrived medium to cold. Our Italian native waiter was initially very friendly and happily brought my husband's martini ( small glass) quickly, then disappeared. Someone brought the pizza. The pie looked like the dough had been thrown fast on the pan, and some of the dough, ham and mozzarella had slid and were dripping off one side. The prosciutto needed to be in smaller pieces - - large clumps of meat. The cook was indeed making these pies very fast - -skillfully twisting the pies inside the oven. Half the cooks had masks. Dough was delicious, sauce very good but the pie looked " too thrown" together. One sprig of fresh basil- - more would have been super. Pie was also cut into quarters very fast. Not too appetizing. Table surface a bit sticky. At the end of the meal, the waiter showed up. Upon hearing how cold the pizza was, he said nothing. Later he arrived with the check and a gratis piece of blueberry topped cheese cake. Even this was not stirred sufficiently in the cooking process, had lumps, was not smooth nor creamy enough. I had been doing so well on my diet and I thought, Oh how can I stay on my diet with all this amazing Italian food? Horrible experience. Food took forever. I ordered the special. Chicken rollatini stuffed with asparagus and ricotta. I took first bite and it tasted weird and "off" to me. I opened up the stiffed chicken breast to find that it was RAW. NOT EVEN COOKED! thank god i checked or i would have been very sick. Ceasar salad was mediocre. We started with the sautéed octopus appetizer which very good. The octopus was sautéd to perfection Tender and Tasty. Our entrees we good too. We ordered the lasagna which was real good. Only wish the sauce was a little sweeter. The pizza which got rave reviews was a little under done, but certainly could see why this place gets all the great reviews. Entrees were just not great. Lasagna was pasta in meat sauce - where's the cheese?? Tried the pizza the third visit because I had a gift card. It was great the NEXT night when I crisped it up in my own pizza oven - I will say the crust is very good. At the restaurant the pizza is very soggy. Gorgeous pizza oven but not hot enough or cooked long enough? They need to figure out the food because the restaurant is very pretty and there is a beautiful bar.
