This was a beautiful restaurant, and you can tell that a lot of research was done to put this together. If you're unaware, Nara prefecture in Japan is known for their friendly deer. If you look at the signage, there is a deer. The exterior of the restaurant is very exciting with their displays of bubbles and the fake fish to make it look like a fish tank which is fitting for a seafood restaurant. When you go inside, you are immediately greeted, they also have very Japanese style gocha gocha machines in the back behind the counter. I'm not sure if they're functional or not, but it definitely added to the esthetic. They also had Crane machines to give it a Japanese game center vibe, but it was still rather cohesive. The decorations were great and the ambiance is great. There were kokeshi dolls, Japanese dolls, swords but all tastefully displayed. The setting was very exciting and very clean. Everyone wore uniforms, whether it be a embroidered yukata top or an apron. They looked very cute and very reminiscent of what you would come across in Japan. Service was excellent from beginning to end The food was delicious. Albeit, the selection is not as vast, but the quality was good. I've already accepted the fact that a lot of Japanese restaurants here are owned and operated by Chinese or Taiwanese people and they will have random non-Japanese food on the menu not traditionally served at a sushi restaurant, but you can see that this place definitely respected the culture and added a hint of theirs without straying far away from Japanese cuisine. We also had a very delicious sake that had grits of rice in it, and it was very interesting, very good, but also very strong. My husband and I had to share a bottle. I absolutely loved the kinako mochi with condensed milk. I never thought to put condensed milk on kinako so I would go for that again! My only negative about this place is the bathroom. Incredibly small and not as neat compared to the rest of the restaurant. I feel like the bill for 2 was quite fair considering the experience that we had and the food and service that we received. Since I went solo, I just sat down and started grabbing dishes off the conveyor belt--and loved every second of it. Our first time here. After a long drive from New Jersey, we are ready for a nice meal. The place did not disappoint. The place was beautifully decorated with Christmas decorations. Service was friendly. The robot bringing my daughter's udon, and the robot train bringing our special orders were really cool. Compared to Kura Sushi in New Jersey, Nara definitely lacked in sushi varieties and the fun of dropping 5 plates in the slot and earn fun prizes. However the quality of the sushi was better. But it is also more expensive than Kura. The tofu udon was excellent, but the store ran out of fish cakes. Not good. We enjoyed our Christmas eve dinner at Nara. Fun place! The atmosphere with the loud music and little robot monorail that brings out the food you order from the menu was fun. The sushi plates were a great deal and also a great way to try new things since they're only $4.95/plate. The salmon was my favorite - buttery and melted in your mouth. There was a filet mignon roll that was different and delicious. So cool, bright and airy place. Love the decor and how you can just get right to eating. Just grab right from the rotating bar of sushi and if you like the small portion sz then use the electronic menu to order more that will be delivered on a SUSHI TRAIN for larger portions. Rarely have I been so impressed with the taste and flavor of everything I sampled at any given place. Yes, Nara is just that good. To begin, the atmosphere has a futuristic diner vibe, nothing fancy by way of ambiance; but, thoroughly modern by way of service. Having been immediately seated by a cordial hostess, who took our drink order at that point, it didn't take us long to start making our selections from the conveyor belt as it displayed a multitude of sushi and salad dishes. Our hostess explained that numerous other options were available, using the touch pad to order. We each selected a different Raman bowl, and waited for the constantly circling train to deliver our meals; and, before any time had passed at all, the train made it's stop with one bowl of, what would prove to be a mouth watering, positively succulent, bowl of steaming soup, packed with Raman, pork, vegetables and a slice of hard boiled egg. But, there were three of us; and, this was one bowl. Looking away from the train, our hostess was making her way back to our table, accompanied by a robot, bearing the remainder of our meals. Now, I could take all day praising the many varieties of sushi I sampled from the conveyor. Suffice it to say that I tried them all, each plate costing a flat five dollars, with varying qauntities (the three us shared each plate) and, when I tell you that all of them were far above my expectations, that's an understatement. Soy sauce and Wasabi were also readily available, but unnessary, from the time we were seated. Each dish stood on its own, without having to add to anything to the flavor. Having to force myself from continuing to eat beyond being satisfied, it's accurate to say that all three of us, my daughter, her boyfriend, and I, all agreed the quantity we consumed was indeed adequately filling; although that did little to quench our interest in eating more. As a Sushi veteran(first experience Chicago 1985) this was an exciting new twist on a familiar subject. In the old days, I sat at the Sushi Chefs table and conversed with the master chef as he prepared each item carefully and knowledgeably. (That's where I learned that the best chefs throw the first piece of octopus tentacle for the day down hard on the counter...to watch if it flinches! If it twitches a bit, it's fresh. Flash forward to modern day. At Nara, no visible chef area, the foods not provided on the rotating run of the more common items, come from behind a closed kitchen. Don't let you be put off by that though, the food items I tasted (wide variety) were all very well executed and delicious. Food prep and delivery are mechanical, and the only non-robotic server you'll see is the one that seats you, serves your beverages, and counts your plates to deliver your bill. Regular carrousel items average $6-7;per plate, and hot items/special items are more. 4 people, one bottle of sake, a couple of hot items and the bill was $70-80. Amusing, unique and representative food for the genre. But give me someone to talk to! read more

Great addition to Pooler. We came here on a Saturday evening around 7 and were seated at the bar style seats that face the conveyor belt. There's a touchpad screen (that was a little dirty) to order items not on the belt. This place has other items other than sushi, such has udon and ramen. There are plenty of appetizers as well. We tried the tempura chicken and seaweed salad, both very good. This is is (mostly) clean, bright, and fun! The staff is super friendly. We tried the large hot sake for $11. Our total bill for 7 items was around $60. I suggest getting a mix of sushi and large menu items to leave feeling satisfied. My only question is: how long does the sushi stay on the conveyor belt. The items are covered- but I'd love to know their health and safety procedures for raw fish. Most of what we ordered came on the moving cat robot, which was cool. read more

Food was very good and the staff was friendly and gave us the low down on the revolving food selections. Restaurant was very clean on the inside and had an awesome sanitized vibe. Order of operations was a little confusing at first but we figured things out easy enough. They just opened this past weekend so had to give them a try tonight. This is a new addition to the Pooler restaurant scene and this will be a fun place for everyone to try. It has a whimsical anime type of ambiance and I'd say you enjoy its design. The wall of bubbling water with fake fish is a neat design feature. The food is sushi with some cooked orderable foods. The rotating offerings are decently priced and okay sushi. They have three methods for food delivery, the rotating band, the top deck delivery trains and robots which make it more fun. Service is good, staff is attentive and wants you to enjoy the experience. I went to this place just out of curiosity because I wanted to see how authentic they are. I liked the interior design and how the belt was stationed. The uniforms and the decorations are also very Japanese. However, the selection on the belt is very limited and you pay $4.95 per plate that has only 2-4 small pieces and few salads and Edamame. This was such a fun experience! I had only seen videos of revolving sushi restaurants on Instagram so as soon as I found one in Pooler I had to try it. We were greeted and seated immediately upon entering the building. They had booths but we were sat at the sidebar at the conveyor belt. We weren't asked if we had a preference and they weren't super busy, but it was only two of us so I feel like the booths may be for bigger parties. Our waitress was extremely friendly and explained everything clearly. I liked how the rolls on the conveyor belt were small; only about 2-4 pieces per plate. We were able to try a lot of different sushi this way. Our favorite was the Kirby roll but we also really liked the others we tried as well. Unfortunately I don't remember what they were called, as we kind of just picked whatever looked appetizing. One did have octopus on it which was interesting. I had only had octopus once before in Mexico. There's a screen at your seat where you can order special items, like normal sized sushi rolls, ramen, and desserts. We ordered the sweet rice cakes and they were delicious! Very sweet and warm and had syrup on them. When you order something off the screen it is brought to you on a little train that drives around the conveyor belt. It was really neat. They also had a robot driving around the restaurant, I think this delivers the ramen or larger plates. And it spoke when it arrives at your table which was really cute. They were playing Pokémon on the TVs which was really nostalgic for me. There were also some gashapon machines (toy vending machines) up front that we used. The booth table high. It comes with a bolted down tablet to order direct to your table. The table also has serving dishes for ginger, Wasabi, and soy sauce. You can ask a waiter for gluten-free soy sauce too. Ordering on the tablet gets you the same items and more, all at the same price. Their menu includes ramen, udon, desserts, hand rolls, and more. You can customizer rolls on the tablet like removing ingredients. There were also options to deep fry, add cream cheese, add jalapeños and more. Once you add to the cart, make sure you then click the cart icon in the upper right to check out. Then the order will come either on the train or one of the robot waiters. The belt includes a number of nigiri options like Inari, tuna, salmon, squid, mackerel, egg, etc. The rolls on the belt are usually either a whole simple roll like a California roll or three pieces of their special rolls. The price per plate is $4.95. I tried the Thor Roll from the menu. Ordering on the tablet was really easy. I could tell them no eel sauce or crunch. It was a sweet and savory roll. Hubby and I stumbled upon this place as we took a stop in Savannah as we head to North Carolina. We are very used to having revolving sushi restaurants where we live, but this place was definitely the bomb! Not only were the revolving sushi roll choices, delicious and not basic, but you were also able to order off of a digital menu if you wanted a specific type of role.
