I love this somewhat hidden gem located over by the Safeway. I usually go during lunch and although I've tried and enjoyed several of their dishes over the years, my go to dish is the Pad Thai w/ chicken. It is always amazingly good and extremely fresh and tasty. At $11.95 for the lunch special (July, 25 price) and a portion size that could easily feed 2., this is a great lunch bargain. You determine how spicy you want your dish to be with 1 being mild to 5 being extra spicy. If you eat in, the service and food prep. are prompt so you can eat and out quickly if you are in a rush. read more

Nara Thai is an unpretentious, but delightful family cafe almost hidden in a ubiquitous American strip mall/grocery center. Family run ethnic restaurants in strip malls are one of my favorite dining genres. I think this place is an easily and often overlooked option among the limited Anthem dining venues. It's been a long time since I've eaten here and bad on me for not. I'm fascinated to see reviews over the past year being pretty much 5 stars or 1 star. Not much in the middle, and I honestly don't understand the 1 ratings. Our traditional Thai food and service were excellent and totally satisfying. My rating of 4 reflects the well-worn (polite for wobbly tables) ambience, limited appetizer list, and no brewed tea. Our platings were a solid 5 on the scale of a Thai Mom's home cooked traditions. This is not industrial Americanized Thai or a fancy Michelin star theme venue. It's Mom's home kitchen worthy of a Bangkok street market. I added shrimp to my Pad Thai and received 6 large perfectly cooked (steamed?) white shrimp. I took the coward's route and selected a 2 heat level which was robustly flavorful without any degree of palate searing heat. Want fire? Ask for the 5. My wife went even safer and selected 1 with her cellophane noodles and chicken. It was a little bland, as cellophane noodles will be, but still awesomeness. We also had a plate of the fried chicken dumplings. We are both huge fans of steamed dumplings, and were pleasantly surprised how tasty and tender these little fried gems were. I'll pass on the other fried appetizer items that were pretty much forgettable. All in, Nara Thai is a great ethnic option in Anthem. Not fancy, but the food is clearly prepared with love and served with a smile. read more

We have gone here many times and really enjoy the food. The service is good and friendly and one of our favorites is that Tom Ka soup with chicken? Also love the yellow curry chicken. Although we've had other things here which are all quite tasty and good, this is a real nice local neighborhood gem. Even if you didn't live locally, this would be a nice little spot for Thai food. My second visit to this restaurant and I am even more impressed the second time! Great food! Great service! Small, cozy, friendly, family establishment. Friday evening and they were extremely busy. And it appeared there were only a total of 3 people working - including the chef. And, yes, the staff was hustling with little time to chat, but they got the job done. And were very nice and friendly even with the stress. Their take out business appears to be booming since I saw many orders go out the door. But their dine-in business was also busy on this Friday evening. The food was exceptional. I love Thai "home cooking". This meal was similar to what you will find at the table of a private home. If you are looking for glamorous dining, small portions artfully arranged for visual enjoyment, this is probably not your place. But if you are looking for delicious food, beautifully served, in a very casual, friendly environment, I encourage you to try this place. Note: Their Thai spices are moderate. If you like it spicy, don't be afraid to order 5 or Thai hot. If you are not into the extremely spicy foods, do not hesitate to try this food. You can order spice levels from 1 to 5. Overall lunch prices were good. The place was clean and quiet. The cheese wontons were good I like the red sauce it came with. The breading on the shrimp wasn't all the cooked and still doughy. I paid $15 for noodles dunked into tamarind sauce with eggs and chicken and barely any vegetable . it was the worst Pad Thai I ever had, and to make it even worst they added the hot food on a styrofoam box and the food melted box which makes the food extremely unhealthy. The servers were attentive, the menu offered great selections, and everything we ordered was excellent! The chicken potstickers were deliciously crisp with just the right amount of ginger. The sweet and sour chicken was lightly friend and crispy, the pad Thai was flavorful and not too sweet. Who serves a curry dish in a flat plate, sauce lacked character and bite and all the veggies were flat. The sticky rice desert was a huge disappointment. This is a great spot in Anthem! We made reservations for 7pm tonight but didn't need them. There was ample seating. While the menu was somewhat limited, the food did not disappoint. The app assortment was small. We liked the peanut sauce over the sweet and sour. Both dishes we had included red curry sauce. My wife's dish had a coconut milk with her red curry and mine included lemon grass. Both sauces were ordered at a (2) heat level. It was perfect, and had a hint of spicy but not anything overpowering. Our wait for our dishes were minimal and the wait staff was friendly and extremely attentive. t was a casual atmosphere and seemed kid friendly. Only critique was that my seafood dish actually had more seafood, but sauce and flavor was on point. I went with the noodle upgrade but should have kept it with rice. When I moved here over six years ago I tried these folks and was sadly disappointed; it's been several years and I have a couple of favorites that are farther away out of anthem but due to circumstances I tried them again today and was very pleased with the results. Dara Thai is very small restaurant with only about dozen tables. We were there on a Thursday evening and the place was packed. As soon as a table clears, new customers seem to walk in. We ordered two curry dishes including Evil Jungle princess. The entrees were served on plates with deep bottoms. They were more like soups. The portion seems to be big but once you remove all the liquid, there isn't that much food. In fact, without eating the rice with curry sauce, you probably leave here hungry; not enough meats and veggies. The flavor of the curry was good; I can totally taste the coconut milk. The Evil Jungle princess had those canned mushrooms and sliced fresh cabbage. This was interesting but their regular curry dish was better of the two. I so wanted the food here to be good especially because it has high ratings on Yelp but sadly, it tasted like 2 day old leftovers and for the price, the servings are so small. Also, as a vegetarian i expected the dishes to have a medley of veggies as stated in the menu but what i found was 4 pieces of broccoli and like 6 slices of carrot not what i expected especially when they charged me the same as a meat eater.
