Traveled through on our way back to Phoenix and stopped by based on the great reviews and awards. We placed an online order expecting a quick "in and out" experience, but the wait was disappointing. Online orders shouldn't be pushed to the back of the line behind walk-ins. I noticed a few other customers waiting and having to ask about their digital orders as well. They cannot get an order right, we spent over $130.00 and requested certain sauces and they cannot get it right. It was delivered so there is no recourse, one of our selections was Moo Shu Chicken and the plum sauce is an important part of the flavor of the dish. We requested extra plum sauce but they did not include any at all. We will never order there again. This is not the first time they have messed up our order, but it will be the last. read more

It's hard to get a decent meal for around $10, but the Shanghai Club offers amazing lunch specials with hearty portions. And, my Shanghai Spicy Chicken was delicious, and it was very filling. Totally disappointed, we ordered lettuce wraps, vegetable fried rice, combo fried rice, beef lo mein, teriyaki chicken and edamame. The fried rice had good flavor and the lo mein was also good. The chicken had been precooked and partially reheated, cut up and covered in a teriyaki sauce. Tough, chewy and cold. The rest was edible but nothing outstanding. We ordered online, which was easy. We sat on the patio this afternoon. An employee was smoking a cigarette on the other side of the wall. Another employee sat on the patio and was slurping their soup, making loud snacking sounds, and belching. Another employee sat down and played their cellphone video on speaker loudly. Am I on candid camera? Our Coke and iced tea glasses were sticky and filthy. The egg drop soup was like phlegm with two corn pieces and a carrot sliver. The crab Rangoon was despicable. The chicken chow mein with crispy noodles was very well prepared no chunks of vegetables suitable for a boar. There were ample pieces of white meat chicken. This dish was enough to be shareable. The pork spare ribs were real ribs and were not drenched in red dye (thank you). I scored 4 stars because ordering for a family would cost a fortune given the portion size of the orange beef. They have upped there game and the lunch specials tasted great. Service was also very efficient and would definitely return when in Anthem. One thing is that associates need to be trained in there menus and ingredients as anything we asked, they had to go and check with the kitchen staff. We placed an order for pick up and when I got home realized we had the wrong order except one item that we had already started eating. When I called them they hung up on my 3 times! When I got thru finally they asked me to bring the wrong food order back! We had already opened it and eaten out of one of the packages- I asked what they were planning to do with the food and told them they could NOT serve it to the customer as it was contaminated- they still asked us to bring it back! This place is a hidden gem! Located in Anthem Arizona and right down the road from my parents we always enjoy coming here when we're in town. There were 9 of us but we were seated right away. Secretly know as Ouey La Gooey, the ladies loved the Apple Martinis. We ordered Honey Walnut Shrimp (Excellent) Beef Broccoli (Excellent) Lemon Chicken (Excellent) Mongolian Beef (Excellent) Lo Mein (Excellent) however the Spring Rolls weren't that good and with the crab rolls you could only taste sour cream and no crab. Saturday, 4/09/2022 - Went to dinner at "Shanghai Club" restaurant in Anthem, AZ. Address is 3434 W Anthem Way, Ste 118, Anthem, AZ 85086. This is a medium size little restaurant bustling with lots of customers. There was a line inside waiting to get seated (we were waiting outside), a line waiting to get their to-go orders, every table was full of people eating, and lots of busy workers. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) located in a strip mall, so lots of parking. 2) restaurant looked clean, plates, utensils, cups, tables and chairs were clean. 3) water tasted good. No metal or funky taste. 4) it was my MIL's wedding the next day, so they gave the bride and groom a pick of their own cup of alcohol on the house. How sweet was that!!! Thank you to the gentleman manning the walkin-in patrons at the front door who did that. Made the bride and groom felt very special. 5) the gentleman at the door (hostess) was very nice, professional, and had great customer service. 6) our server checked in on us several times. The guy hostess even checked in on us. 7) All of our food dishes were good. They are pretty large portions. To me, even our 1 plate of food can feed 3 or 4 people. 8) bathroom was clean. 2 stalls in the women's bathroom and both working. 9) they had bar w/ TV for those who drink. 10) they had an outside seating area. Cons: 1) I understand it was dinner time. But it took a while for our server to come take our food orders. I had to go look for another waitress to get our server so we can order our food. Once she came, she was very nice. Conclusion: I liked this restaurant. Staffs were all nice. Even though they were running around busy, they were still very customer friendly and professional.
