I tried this place because of the good reviews but this has to be by far the worst thai restaurant I have ever tried for multiple reasons. They gave us our curry half full I honestly didn't care enough to write a review since they seemed busy for their location until I tasted everything. We got the shrimp fried rice, the drunken noddles, red curry, and green salad. None of it was good. I love thai food and this is nothing I have tasted before the taste of thai is not here. I so wanted the food here to be good especially because it has high ratings on Yelp but sadly, it tasted like 2 day old leftovers and for the price, the servings are so small. Also, as a vegetarian i expected the dishes to have a medley of veggies as stated in the menu but what i found was 4 pieces of broccoli and like 6 slices of carrot not what i expected especially when they charged me the same as a meat eater. My 8-year-old son is IN love with Thai food. His dad lives in anthem and strongly recommended this place. He said it was the most amazing Thai ever. I should've known better than to drive to suburbia to find amazing Thai. I wanted to love it based on reviews, in retrospect most current reviews are not good. The reviews that a year or older are amazing. Anything recent are low rating I understand why now. The food was more like Panda Express of Thai food. The flavor of the food was mediocre. We ordered wonton soup, pot stickers (these were good) curry fried rice, orange chicken (this should be a huge red flag) - there isn't orange chicken in Thai cuisine) and a shrimp stir fry dish. The food wasn't horrible - it was subpar. I'm picky! I know. I know. Fried rice was mushy. Warm in temperature. There were no veggies just mushy rice with yellow curry with onions and chicken. Hard pass on this one next time. The flavors were good just not a fan of mushy wet rice. The soup was the best food item we ordered but again no Thai flavors. The broth was more of a Mexican caldo broth rather than Thai. The e orange chicken was cooked well - crispy and the sauce was a little on the bitter side from the oranges, but it tasted good. Some pieces were a little too drenched in oil. So, when we bit into it we had oil pouring out. not my favorite place to get Thai. read more

This mom and pop place is outstanding. Cute, clean, and awesome service. Crispy Tofu are excellent and with the crunchy peanut sweet and sour sauce is the bomb. I LOVE Thai food. This food is poorly prepared. The peanut dressing for our 'to go' order looked and tasted like a scoop of peanut butter out of a jar - It was not liquid! I can't believe I haven't reviewed Nara (Dara) Thai for as many times as we've eaten here! I will say I'm not quite sure why the name variance when you google versus what's on Yelp, but I have seen this before with other Thai restaurants. Either way, this is a absolute go to for some wonderful Thai dishes. I really enjoy the Thai tea as well, some of the best I have had in AZ. My only complaint is I have had multiple issues with the website trying to look at the menu. I like to try new things so I am always exploring menus but the rest of the family knows exactly what they want haha. Would be nice to have a little better menu or online ordering process versus calling in when they are so busy. It is nice to see them busy and have reopened for dine in. Lots of folks going in to eat which is a bit refreshing for the community and getting business back on track. read more

Ordered the Yum Yai, Which is Thai salad with chicken, shrimp, cucumber, carrots, celery and lettuce with a lime dressing, according to the menu. My salad only had 2 shrimps. And they substituted tomatoes for the celery, which is a whatever. But the lime dressing that it came with was nothing but Karo clear corn syrup with some weird lime flavoring, so they should have said that it comes with syrup, NOT dressing. read more

Hmm where should I start...so we stopped here on our way from Sedona to Phoenix. Back home whenever we go to a Thai restaurant the portions are always pretty big and my kids NEVER finish a meal on their own. That wasn't the case here, we thought we ordered too much (2 adults 2 kids - 5 meals and a appetizer) turns out we barely got enough to feed us. Food tasted good, some dishes were better then others. The pad Thai did not taste like the authentic pad Thai (I've had LOTS of pad Thai dishes) this was super sweet, no peanut flavor or spice at all. The orange chicken was amazing, my kids LOVED IT. The crab wontons as appetizers were a little weird, the filling was a bright pink cream cheese, no taste of crab whatsoever. The transparent noodles were okay, we could barely see any, there were 1/3 noodles 2/3 veggies. Overall an okay place, we craved Thai food and this place was the one with more ratings in the area. read more

My friend had recommended this restaurant to me years ago so I had finally tried it with my mom and it is absolutely amazing. The restaurant itself is beautifully filled with decorations and pictures that add to the experienc. We paid about $15 for pad Thai and with the nuddles, greens, and nuts the flavors were perfect. First time here today. We will be back. Walked in right at 4p (i think they reopen at 4p but not 100% sure). We were the only customers for about 15 min but it started picking up around 445. Service was excellent. Had veggie roll appetizers came out fast, hot and tasty. My wife ordered the chicken Pad Thai. She liked the flavor...said the flavor was more of a sweet and sour which was different for her but not bad. I had the three kings red curry (shrimp, squid and scallops) #2 out of 5 spicy was perfect heat and the seafood was cooked absolutely perfectly. We moved from the east coast and it has been hard to find seafood cooked correctly! On top of all that the prices were very reasonable. We will be back! read more

I have family in Anthem so I've been to Dara Thai at least 30 times by now, both dine in and takeout. Everytime I come the service is excellent, timely, and the food is delicious. Every Thai restaurant has their own spin on the food, I appreciate the option to choose my spice levels and request custom orders. We ordered takeout from Nara Thai, and were very satisfied with their outstanding Grilled Beef Salad, Pad Thai, and Tom Yum Gai soup. The only thing we noticed was that there were several pieces of "wilted looking" pieces of Romaine lettuce. Everything else was good quality. We were in the area and were looking for something in a non chain restaurant. This little place was a pleasant surprise. They even serve beer and wine. There's limited seating but we got there around 5:30 when tables were available. By the time we left all the tables were taken and there were take out orders going out the door regularly. We were a party of 2 so we shared a curry dish and a meat and vegetable stir fry, along with some steamed rice. It was more than enough. We enjoyed both dishes and ordered a 4/5 and 3/5 for heat level. We felt the heat levels could've been higher. The 3/5 didn't seem to have any heat at all. Service was very good though. read more

Tasty food and great service! It is so small that we actually initially drove past it and had to circle the parking lot a couple times before actually finding it haha. So on yelp it says that on Fridays it is open until 8:30, but this is incorrect. We walked in about 7:45 thinking wed have enough time to order and eat, but as soon as we got there the lady at the front looked concerned and told us that they were closing soon. There were still two groups of people waiting for food/ eating in the restaurant. We were talking about leaving and where else to go but the server told us it was fine and we would have enough time. Our server was super nice, didn't rush us but made sure we got in our order on time! There are a ton of options on the menu, and a whole vegetarian section which pretty much made my day. We started off with veggie rolls (only $3.50!), and they were good, not the best, could have used more filling, but we enjoyed them with the sweet and sour sauce. For my meal I decided on the Bangkok tofu, and my boyfriend got the chicken pad tai. I loved the tofu, red curry sauce is my fave. My only complaint is that I would have liked less peanuts and more potato in the mix, otherwise good. My boyfriend said his pad thai was good but it was lacking in sauce. The meal overall was not too terribly pricey. If I am in the area, I will come try it again. read more
