For dinner, we crossed the resort to Narcoosee's. When we checked in for our reservation we ended up having a short wait due to our need to use the stroller and have a faster-paced meal. Once seated at our table our server came over with waters and took our drink order. My starter of poached and chilled shrimp was good but definitely not as good as the dish I had at Jiko. Two of us ordered the scallops for our entree and both of us agreed that they could have used a little more cook on them. The rest of the food was just okay. We all agreed nothing was bad at Narcoosee's but we wouldn't return. read more

Going to Disney for the food is akin to going to Atlantic City for the over-the-hill STD-riddled hookers. It's the only reason! (I kid, I kid.) After an 8-day vacation I'm sorry to say that the majority of places to eat were horrible. The exception was here at Narcoossees. And it was an amazing meal from start to finish where every damn bite was better than the last. As someone else pointed out on Yelp already - it was weird to know there's an 'enforced dress code' and I'm in a shirt, tie and dress shoes and next to me is a guy in sneakers and denim shorts. (Denim shorts are NEVER acceptable... especially on adult males.) Anyway - this was my favorite place while staying at Disney and was almost good enough to erase me getting sick from a lunch at Sassagoula's earlier in my vacation. read more

Excellent experience. Our waiter Tom was very friendly and positive, great service too. Hostesses were accommodating and gave us a table next to the window overlooking Cinderella castle. Food is delicious. We ordered calamari for appetizer. Surf and Turf, Swordfish for entrees. Everything was yummy. I would order the same meals when we come again. Cheese plate was decent enough. Lobster and corn bisque again decent. Surf and turf was filet mignon with a lobster tail. Filet was cooked well, and lobster came with drawn butter. Mango sorbet for dessert probably could have used a shot of sugar, since mangos aren't really in season at the moment. A good enough place to eat if you're looking for "grown up" food in Disneyworld. Be prepared to pay Disney prices for it though. read more

Terrible!! For nearly twenty years my wife and I have been traveling to Orlando. We just stayed at Disney's Grand Floridian. Although we have dined at just about every Disney location we never tried Narcoossee's. At the recommendation of our concierge we gave them a shot. I should have listened to my inner voice that screamed don't do it. What a disappointment and a waste of money. For those of you who have dined at the California Grill or The Flying Fish Cafe and are expecting a signature restaurant of that caliber be forewarned Narcoossee's shouldn't be in the same category. We arrived for dinner at 7:05 for a 7:15 reservation. We weren't seated until 7:25, which is not unusual for Disney so no big deal. Then we sat at our table being eaten alive by mosquitoes for ten minutes until our server finally stopped by to see if we wanted a drink. At this point we were probably as familiar with the menu as she was, we ordered drinks and an appetizer (while we both eyed up the exit).. The server dropped sourdough bread that was dry from being heated too long and disappears. After about five minutes my ice tea was delivered, 15 minutes or so later the server returned with my soft shell crab appetizer. Our table now looks like A bread crumb factory and I couldn't help but notice the crumber protruding from our server's apron. While we waited for my NY strip and my wife's scallops we continued to watch the staff stomp around with an apparent lack of caring for anything other than moving the night along. From where I was seated I had a great view of the kitchen staff where the servers picked up their orders. I observed the kitchen staff on more than one occasion calling over runners because food was dying in the window. Our food was in the window for close to ten minutes. I watched it while my wife and I joked that it was probably our food. Well it wasn't so funny when my $48 steak was room temperature. My steak was ok but the sides were terrible the asparagus was woody and the potatoes au gratin had an off super salty flavor. I couldn't get past the lukewarm temperature of my wife's scallops to enjoy the flavor. After forcing down the entrees our server finally scraped the crumbs from the table and attempted to interest us in dessert. I noticed that several guests around us were eating the almond cheese cake. I failed to see what all the fuss was for this dessert. To me it looked as unappealing as I imagined that it would taste. The bottom line is that even with Tables in Wonderland which saved us 20% it was an overpriced meal similar to any chain steak house with the differences being the decent view and poor service. I would never recommend that anyone waste a dining experience there. Go to the Flying Fish Cafe on Disney's Boardwalk if you are in Disney and want a really consistent attentive staff that serves great food. read more

Great experience! I'd like to start by saying that my husband and I had the opportunity to dine here with dining coupons provided by our company. I provide this information because it's always nerve wracking for us to dine with coupons or discounts because we often find that we do not get good service once the server finds this out. I'm happy to say this was the exact opposite with Kristen from Cocoa Beach. We were up front with her about the coupons from the beginning of the meal and we still received wonderful, friendly service. Now for the food. The bread service is warm sourdough and comes with butter & sea salt. Pretty good. We ordered to appetizers: the mussels and the BBQ shrimp& grits. Mussels were good but not the best I've ever had. Shrimp and grits were YUMMY. The mango mojito was to die for as a side note as well. I ordered the filet and he had the lobster. The glaze on my filet was delicious but the steak was a bit over cooked. Still flavorful. His lobster was good and easy to eat, which is always a plus with lobster. Lastly, dessert! We went for almond cheesecake and lemon custard. Cheesecake was very good but the custard was very tart. Overall, excellent service and good food. It was a nice night out. read more

I don't eat seafood and to be honest I was somewhat dreading having dinner at Narcoossee's. My fears were unfounded however because I quite enjoyed my meal here. Narcoossee's is a small, freestanding building on the Grand Floridian resort property. I had forgotten how absolutely gorgeous this resort is. If you have time to explore either before or after your dinner it's well worth your time. I thought the old-time band that played in the lobby was wonderful and I enjoyed listening to them. The dress code is smart casual so my standard Disney uniform of t-shirt and shorts was out. The restaurant looks like what you would find at a yacht club. We got a window table that gave us a view of the construction for Tron across the lake, which I was excited to see (2021 hurry up already so I can ride!). Our server (his name might have been Amer, but I can't remember) said he had been working at the restaurant for twenty six years! He did a great job. While the majority of the entrees are seafood there are some exceptions, include a tofu dish. As usual Disney continues to impress me with how they handle food allergies. In looking at their regular menu I would have thought the pork chop dish would have been safe for me to eat, but the allergy friendly menu that I requested showed me that wasn't the case. I ended up getting the filet mignon. It wasn't anything unusual or special, but it was wonderfully cooked and I really enjoyed it. I wouldn't have chosen to eat here but I'm glad that it ended up that way. Even if you don't like seafood this is a good choice you can make for a nice dinner experience. read more

After a long day we decided to try and eat here without having reservations. The main restaurant was booked but the bar was available. Thought we'd just have a drink and maybe an appetizer then go find a restaurant to eat dinner at. Sergio the bartender changed our minds. We had amazing service... even more than at a table at most restaurants! The swordfish I had was some of the most delicious fish I have ever had. Plus they took my dairy allergy into consideration while preparing everything. Instead of telling me I couldn't have it they made it so it was dairy free. The icing on the cake was the fireworks... they pipe the music in around the porch and cover your plates up while you go watch them. The best service we've had here and maybe anywhere! Absolutely phenomenal! Dined here about a week ago with a group of friends during our stay at the Grand Floridian. Our server, Amer, was an absolute delight and made great company and conversation. Everyone loved their dishes, with some of us ordering the lobster bisque and calamari-- to die for!! I had the scallops and gnocchi, and I've never had scallops this delicious. Our host Jayde was wonderful and courteous, and she even gave us the best table in the house with a view of Cinderella's castle. Such an awesome place for a nice dinner! This is my mom's absolute favorite place and I think I may have had something to do with that...You see, for my budget it is pricey so we only had dessert the first time and I timed it to watch the fireworks too! We have also been lucky enough to get window seats every time...except this one. But I still had a great experience! We checked in and had to wait a couple minutes...I had thought my reservation was for 8:50 PM (perfect since fireworks were at 9:30) Well... My mistake and it was for 8:30...But they sat us pretty quickly and the gentleman that took us to the table (I think his name was alex but I can't really remember...) was incredible. He was pleasant, asked us about our visit, talked story for a little bit and then told us who our server would be before he stepped away. This was my parents and my "thanksgiving dinner" and my mom didn't remember having so little choices on the menu. Our server did explain that the menus are printed daily so it will change frequently. We ordered a variety of stuff starting with appetizers: mom ordered lobster bisque, my dad got the calamari and I got the apple salad. Now, I normally don't really care for fruit in my salad but this one was delish! I enjoyed the dressing that went with the salad but I couldn't find any candied pistachios like it said on the menu. I didn't even think to say anything about it because the salad was so good and I didn't realize the missing pistachios until nearer to the end when I was eating a lot of the pumpkin seeds. I didn't try my mom's soup but she drank the whole thing and the calamari was great! There were banana peppers and jalapenos to add a nice kick to the calamari sauce. I love this place. It upstages all of the Disney World restaurants and makes you feel like you're dining in a fancy New England restaurant. My recommendation is, if you're going to go, do it BIG. Definitely make a reservation, and make it for around 9pm or whenever Wishes (the firework show at Magic Kingdom) starts. Everyone in the restaurant steps outside during that time and watches the show on the patio, while they play the theme music on the speakers in the restaurant. The key lime creme brulee is fantastic, along with the wasabi-infused ahi tuna. It is expensive, but like I said, if you're going to come here, do it big! You only live once! read more

Walt Disney World has no shortage of fine restaurants with top-quality food and extraordinary service, and we've eaten at pretty much all of them over the years. So it's not lightly I say that Narcoosee's would be at the top of my favorites list. First, let me say a word about the service. During our most recent visit, my wife became ill during dinner. Tom, our server, expedited packaging our desserts (we had the Disney Dining Plan entrée-and-dessert package) so we could take them with us and Jessica, at the reception area, was extremely conscientious in making sure my wife was comfortable and had water while we waited to pay the check back at the table. Both were terrific. The food here is extraordinary. I ordered the surf-and-turf which came with a perfectly-cooked sirloin and a butter poached lobster tail that is the most tender and flavorful I've experienced. The mashed potatoes have exemplary flavor to complement the dish. And the wine selections are very nice. I also like the look of this restaurant with its not-over-the-top nautical theming and the open kitchen you can enjoy watching while you wait for your table. We'll be back....many times. read more

I truly wanted to have a 5 star experience here at Narcoossees... but 4 stars will have to do. First of all, this is a restaurant that is hard to get a reservation for. I made mine about 3 months in advance for my husband's birthday. When we arrived (early) we asked if we could take an earlier seating because we had our toddler son with us and they couldn't do it (bummer). However, I told them I was pretty hungry and they gave me complimentary bread and a soda! How is THAT for first-class service that only Disney can provide? So... if I had to rate the SERVICE here... 5 stars. Hands down. The staff is great. I was especially fond of RAVEN. She was simply magical with my son and offered all she could to ensure we had a great night. Also... 5 stars would be for the VIEW at this restaurant. If you are lucky enough as we were you can watch the "Happily Ever After" fireworks show from here and the best part is they dim the lights and play the music in the restaurant. They also allow you the opportunity to go outside and watch and they will even hold your food for you until you return so it doesn't get cold. See? Service! So why 4 stars? I am just not so impressed with the food. :( Bread service? Blah. Sour sough and butter with salt on it? Where is the unique-ness? Where is the creativity. I need more. I got the Wedge and the bacon vinegarette is just too overwhelming. I don't truly understand everyone's obsession with bacon flavor but it was far too much. My husband got the crab cake and it was MUCH better and I had major FOMO with that one. I got the pasta for my main course and my husband got the swordfish. Once again... his meal won. My pasta wasn't very special. I know it's hard to make pasta a stand out dish but this definitely wasn't worth $39. And that's the thing. EVERY.THING.IS.OVER.PRICED.HERE. Perhaps I should have tried the lobster to get my money's worth? But man... I just felt like they upcharge on account of the beautiful view (most likely...) Sad. But we were super thankful they sent out a dessert for free since my husband was celebrating his birthday. It was the almond crusted cheesecake and was pretty good. I was dining alone and instead of compassion I was the recipient of careless . I had had The good fortune of selecting a reservation time that coincided with fireworks. So I ordered my dessert and coffee and went out to enjoy. When I came back they were clearing my table instead of bringing me my coffee and dessert, Even though before going I had stated that I was going to go watch the fireworks and return when they were done. Really made me feel uncared for & unwelcome which is a huge disappointment when your dining at the happiest place On earth that's also supposed to be a stellar dining experience. The food was great, I'll let you know about the desert they haven't brought it yet. Should be a five-star experience it really hasn't been. Not enough care and attention to my experience. The Disney Disclaimer: Yup. Disney is expensive, overpriced, yada, yada. While an excellent meal, can you get certainly find the same quality for less, especially considering for seafood in Florida. So, that aside. After doing yelp due diligence, we select Narcoossee's as our adult's nice dinner out, two Disney Dining credit meal. Located on the water with a wide porch, Narcoosee's boasts a view of Magic Kingdom's firework show, as long as you time it right. The decor is simple, more so than I would have expected. Being Disney, this was part that I did expect a bit more and was a bit disappointed. We were seated by the window so this made up for it a bit. The service is excellent, even more so than the consistently excellent service through the parks. Bread service and drinks were brought promptly, and try not to fill up on bread, which can be a struggle for because it comes warm, is wonderful, and well, we spent all day walking. Our table ordered the lobster tails and the surf and turf. All entrees were cooked perfectly and to order, from the protein to the asparagus. I substituted the corn soufflé for potatoes, which was not an issue, and finished every bite. Due to being a bit uncomfortably full (damn you, bread!), I took my dessert home but throughly enjoyed it later that evening. Dessert may be a reason to go in of itself. Now this is the part that you can not get just anywhere. I had the coconut and chocolate creme brûlée, the single best thing I ate during the entire trip. No kidding, I would go back just for dessert (and to watch the fireworks without the crowd). As is mentioned in other reviews, this is one of the restaurants that is listed as a "dress up". That seems to either be used loosely, or disregarded or "guests" choose to ignore. I think it's a nice reason to use to change out of sweaty tees and shorts, but each to their own I guess. read more

We had never dined at Narcoossee's, so my conference gave us a good excuse. I made reservations online; and, we showed up just a few minutes early. After just a few minutes wait, we were escorted to our table - - not a window view, although tables were available; but, a nice table, below the bar area, with nice views of Bay Lake. Our server, Patty, was rather perfunctory in her presentation of the menus, features, wine selection and the like; she seemed rushed; and, we did have some communication issues. I ordered a "flight" of Pinot Noir (which confused her); and, my wife ordered a Moscow Mule; and, our daughter had Iced Tea. For starters, my wife ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which were excellent; and, I got the Cider-braised Mussels and Cream, which I had seen on another review site as THE hot appetizer to get... They were right, it was delicious, with a cream sauce that went great with the aioli drenched crostini. Our daughter opted for the Lobster Bisque, which was fine. For mains, my wife ordered the best-on-the-menu item: Heritage Farms Cheshire Pork Rib Chop; I got the so-so prepared Line Caught Swordfish; and, our daughter ordered the completely serviceable Surf & Turf, featuring a small Filet de Mignon; and, an exceptional butter-poached lobster tail - some of the best lobster we've ever tried. For my sword fish, it's a shame that the best feature of the plate was the side of diminutive vegetables. I had been waffling between the pork and the sword fish; but, Patty had strongly recommended the fish. Across the room, I spied a table with a "foodie" couple, who were engrossed in their wine (two bottles on the table) and food. Their server was so emotive in her gestures; and, took the time to explain and provide her view on the items. She checked on the couple repeatedly; and, made sure they completed their food "adventure." Had Patty been as attentive and emotive, we would have enjoyed our meal so much more. My husband and I did dinner & fireworks here -- wonderful experience! The wine was great, and the warm bread service was delicious. The BBQ shrimp & grits are not to be missed. I had the butter poached lobster tail (AMAZING) and the filet mignon (perfect). My husband loved the scallops and his lobster mac & cheese. Our server (Tim I think?) was wonderful. He gave us great recommendations and service. The host told us exactly where to go on the deck for the best fireworks view. They encourage you to take your drink out as well! This is a very romantic date spot, but it looked like they had some cute kids' dishes as well. While the food is stellar, I really wanted to go to watch the fireworks as promoted by Disney. But be aware that the photo's I've uploaded will be your view unless you crowd on the outside deck like you're on the street at magic kingdom. So you'd really be better off at the park watching the fireworks. I thought this would be a laid back adult way of watching and missing the hassle of magic kingdom, but unfortunately I was greatly disappointed. Narcoossee is a great restaurant to dine at when you're visiting Disney. We have meal plan so it cost us two dining credits. The staff was friendly and very willing to accommodate. My favorite thing about the restaurant was the view. At 10 o'clock the fireworks will start and the balcony the restaurant has a perfect view. If not for the friendly bartender and the quality of the meat, I would have given two stars. We walked in on a busy Sunday evening. The dining area was booked, so we sat at the bar. Our meal started with a basket of cheap, dry bread, the kind that passes for "French" at Walmart. Our shrimp appetizer was interesting, served with an aioli instead of cocktail sauce. But service was slow, and it took over 20 minutes to get our entrees. My husband and I both ordered the filet mignon. He enjoyed his, but I thought mine was over-salted. The mashed potatoes were average. The "seasonal vegetables" consisted of four or five scraps of carrot so blackened, I couldn't tell what they were until I tasted them. Fortunately, I like caramelized carrots. But the presentation was very unattractive, and the portion was ridiculously small. The greatest disappointment was that this meager dinner, which included no drinks or dessert, cost a jaw-dropping $150! I expect to pay that kind of money at California Grill, where the food is superb, the view is spectacular, and you can watch the Magic Kingdom fireworks from the terrace. But Narcoossee's is not in the same class. read more

Full week of the best dining Disney has to offer and hands down the BEST! The view, the menu, the presentation, the execution by the kitchen and staff were perfect. I went here on my first night and honestly set the bar very very high. Other Disney restaurants had excellent elements, but not the whole package. We had a table of 10 every night too, so I got to try a lot of things. The mussels app is insane, so good in fact we got another one. Scallops entre was terrific as was the Tile fish, Lobster and the Steaks too. If you don't go here it a big mistake. Plus the setting and view are pretty sweet too. First let me say how excellent the food is here. The lobster bisque is fabulous. The surf and turf was cooked to absolute perfection. Then there was our waiter, Amer. He was beyond fabulous. He made us feel like we were his only customers, despite being one of several tables he was in charge of. Our courses came out with impeccable timing. As we ate a bit later we were able to view the Magic Kingdoms firework display from the veranda of the restaurant, then come back in to finish our desert. We went to eat here to celebrate our brother's engagement and it was probably the worst dining experience we have ever had period, not just at Walt Disney World. We usually love going to restaurants and enjoy the food, the atmosphere, the service but NOT this time and for several reasons. We have eaten at Narcoosee's before and the food has been great, but this experience soured Narcoossees for us and hopefully this review will away you so go somewhere else, (maybe even someplace off WDE property and most likely cheaper) In short, we had our worst experience ever at Disney World. We were overcharged, the food was not great, and the service was not good. All we wanted was an apology from the management; not a comp, not something for free, but just for someone to acknowledge that we had a bad experience and to apologize. In depth... 1) Overcharged- When we first arrived, we were sat at the bar even though we made a reservation for 5 people. As soon as we received our drinks we were rushed to close out our drink tab and moved to a table to find out we were charged for two bottles of wine instead of 2 glasses of wine. It was about a $200 difference! We were not accommodated at all for the mistake. 2) Subpar Food- We ordered the calamari and the shrimp for the table as appetizers. Both seemed very salty but we figured it was just the way the fried seafood dishes were prepared... so not an issue. Then our main dishes arrived. Two of us ordered the Filet and 3 couple of us ordered the surf and turf; both around $50 dishes give or take. The cook on the some of the steaks was okay, but every single one was over salted and we usually don't mind food having some salt. With that said, the scallops were some of the best scallops we've ever had, the cook was great, the flavor amazing: ( the only good part of the meal). Overall, the food was too salty, and to put this into perspective, I'm not the thinnest person around, and always clear my plate even if I don't enjoy the food but this time I could not finish the food it was so bad 3) Last but not least, Terrible Service- let me preface this by saying that three of us worked in the restaurant industry and can understand if someone is new or if they're having a bad day, but this experience beyond a bad day or poor training. After our table was cleared of our appetizer plates we were never brought any silverware to eat our main meal. We were served our main dishes and nobody asked if we needed anything. We waited 15 minute to get silverware while our food got cold. Because we could not even get silverware we requested to speak to the manager who DID NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE for forgetting silverware or that we did not enjoy our food because it was so salty. And after all was said and done and our plates were cleared, we waited over 30 minutes just to get our checks and another 20 minutes to get them back so we could just leave. At that point we just wanted to leave. Being annual pass holders we left our cards with the bill and did not receive the 10% even after our server asked if we had any discount. This used to be me and my wife's favorite restaurant to celebrate our anniversary but the past couple of times eating here there is a considerable decline in the restaurant. The menu selection seems to have gotten cheaper and the attention to detail seems to have disappeared. The wife got the lobster tails and one of them seriously looked like it had a thanksgiving meal before being cooked, the amount of poop that was left on the tail was disgusting! Lemme start with the fact we was staying on property. We had a late reservation and we had dressed nice for our final nights dinner. I had a nice sweater, tweet chafferers hat and slack and my wife had a beautiful dress. Upon arrival we found a spot at the bar to await a table. We sat down and I was immediately told to remove my hat. Which I did, begrudgingly. Shortly after the waiter came and got us and I was instructed to again put my hat on the rack. I was a little mad because it wasn't a ball hat or offense, and went perfectly with the sweater. We found our way to our table, only to be sat merely a few table away from a woman ina t shirt and a metallic gold baseball cap photo enclosed. So, I asked the waitress why was women allowed to wear hats and not men, I was told that's just how it is. Finally a manager came by and was like oh we can suggest you remove it but can't make you. Sure seemed different mere seconds ago........, let's be fair people. I've been to this place a half a dozen times and I've seen people in tank tops and shorts. This isn't the Palms or Peter Lugers. Pros: great service, fast delivery, nice ambiance and a really good vantage point to watch the magic kingdom fireworks or just chill on the deck and enjoy the view over the water. The majority of the wait staff was amazing and took really good care of us although there was one waitress who was fairly rude and condescending. Cons: its Disney so that means lots of fake smiles, kids running around, people in shorts and tshirts, etc... Neutral: the food is good but nothing spectacular. Its slightly above average food with fancy plating and everything is reheated - this was a major turn off. The menu is very limited with only a few choices and you are going to spend a lot on this meal. Bottom Line: If you're already staying at the Grand Floridian and you're on vacation with your family, this is a nice compliment to your trip with a unique atmosphere. But if you just want a nice dinner out with your girl/guy and looking to spend $200 on dinner, there are many more places I would go before coming here. I wouldnt come here again simply because its not worth what you pay and Im over the Disney fascade. read more
