I had never been to this restaurant, but had heard good and funny things about it so I was excited to try it out. We did the all you can eat breakfast buffet and the food was delicious. This was our second time eating at Whispering Canyon Café because our first visit was so much fun. We were really looking forward to coming back, but this visit just didn't live up to the first one. After we ordered, it took about 45 minutes for our food to come out. Once we got it, our server rarely came back to check on us. My wife didn't get a single drink refill the entire meal, and it was hard to get anyone's attention when we needed something. What should have been about an hour turned into a two-and-a-half-hour meal. That being said, the atmosphere here is still one of the best at Disney. The restaurant is beautifully themed, the lodge setting is warm and inviting, and it's easy to see why so many families love coming here. The playful servers, the ketchup bottle fun, and all the interaction with guests make it a great place for families. It's the kind of restaurant where everyone, from little kids to grandparents, can have a good time. I honestly think our server may have just been having an off day, because our first visit was fantastic. My friends and I stopped by this restaurant to try the food and the 40% discount for annual passholders was a nice perk! The food was average but good. I enjoyed the different options of veggies and meat. There was a mix up with our check in so we had to wait a little bit longer than usual. We were not bothered by this but the manager made sure after the mix up was fixed to greet us and made sure we were taken care of. We were very grateful for that as he really went above and beyond. Bring your appetite. This all-you-can eat barbecue restaurant serves delicious grilled and smoked foods by the skillet-full, including tasty sides and several plant-based options. It is a themed restaurant, so there are some kooky antics by the servers and staff -- be prepared to be involved, but not so much that you can't enjoy your meal. My mom and I decided to try this restaurant since I have an enhanced discount this summer as a Disney passholder. If we were a bigger group or had kids with us, they might have tried to involve us in the shenanigans a bit more (I'm not sure). But we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and drinks! Self-parking is free and easy with a dining reservation if you aren't a guest at the resort. Came here for breakfast before taking a boat to the Magic Kingdom. You can park there and go straight to the park. No need to remove your car. Service is very interesting. They do pretend to be mean and sarcastic. Which is an interesting touch. Ambiance is very unique as well. Place is also very spacious if you are coming with a big group of friends, or family. I had some egg white frittata and a fruit cup. A fruit cup was super lame, it had some old cantaloupe. They did have Mickey waffles which my son loved. This is one of my top restaurants on Disney property. I've been here a few times and I've never had a bad experience. The food is absolutely delicious. I've come for lunch dinner and even brunch. The food is fantastic. And the quality never disappoints. The staff are really awesome. They make the experience so cool and so fun. Everyone always has a fun time and it's always a fun interactive experience no matter what time of day. Definitely worth a visit for locals and those visiting. The skillet sizes get progressively bigger if more of your group shares the same skillet type. Great service. Honestly the staff is so fun and was great. This is somewhere we will definitely return to. We decided to do Whispering Canyon as our checkout day breakfast before hitting the road. Everything was got was pretty tasty and as expected. We got the heritage and it was a good mix of food for breakfast with biscuit, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage and waffle. The Mickey waffle is a staple, and was your standard Mickey waffle. The biscuits were where it was at in my opinion. I also got the mimosa flight and highly recommend. Now this really is one of the best places you can get breakfast anywhere at Disney and it's all because of those skillets! We ordered one of each The Carnivore And The Heritage one was all breakfast goodies and the other was all BBQ goodness which made for a nice brunch style when mixing them together one of my favorites things I made of them was a chicken waffle sandwich it was super good and just a fun experience to make something cool and yummy out of those already delicious mouse waffles! Everything on both of the skillets was yummy like honestly I really can't just pick one thing and say I liked it more than the other as it all was just delicious so grab a friend or a few and share all the goodness they give you because it's honestly quite a lot! If you ask for ketchup you will be brought all of them from the many tables in the room it's one of those things they do here to create an ambiance as well as galloping around the dinning room on wooden horses as they just create a whole fun vibe here for all to enjoy alongside those delicious skillets! There's no actual whispering here at Whispering Canyon! We stayed at Wilderness Lodge and "came home" hungry as anything after a very long day of travel. It was very easy to switch our reservation to arrival day from our original slot too. If you're coming here, def come hungry as the skillets are AYCE AND! AND! A vegan option?! SIGN ME UP. One of my fave things about Disney is how dietary friendly they are! Whatever concerns you have they will meet. The vegan cornbread was BOMB. Calamity Kate even said it's way better than the non vegan version (and she wasn't a vegetarian or a vegan so this may be a secret, shhhh!) The alcoholic drinks are STRONG here, fair warning. It was a bit too strong, in my opinion. If you are looking for a place where it's ok that the kids are yelling/crying/overtired and the servers may or may not be into the "performance" aspect of the Whispering Canyon, than this is the place for you! The signature dinner skillets are $47 per person, not inexpensive by any means. However we came during a promotion wherein season pass holders get a 40% discount, so at about $28 per person did make it more palatable. The food and service were very good and excellent, respectively. Our drinks never ran dry and we were checked up regularly, an appropriate amount of times. Two of us ordered The Traditional (Oak-smoked Beef Brisket, Pork Ribs, Slow-smoked Pulled Pork, Citrus-Herb Chicken, Western-style Sausage, Smashed Potatoes, Baked Beans, Buttered Corn on the Cob, Sautéed Green Beans) and two ordered The Land and Sea (House-smoked Salmon, Citrus-Herb Chicken, Spicy Plant-based Sausage, Charred Portobello, Barbecued Cauliflower, Roasted Potatoes, Roasted Carrots, Sautéed Green Beans). We sampled off of each others skillets, without any grief given to us by staff. Everything, from both skillets, were well cooked, hot and tasty. I was not a big fan of the cornbread that came out beforehand, but others enjoyed it. The shenanigans were a nice addition and not over the top; and the interior was nice (as any Disney property is, with their attention to detail). We made a reservation for 12:45. Ended up checking in at 12:30 and we're told it would be a 20 to 25 minute wait because they were behind. We ended up walking around the hotel to kill time and then went back to sit in some chairs nearby to wait for the text. While waiting we sat by another family and when I got my text the other family stood up and rushed in front of us. They got to the host stand first and I figured maybe they had gotten a text too so I waited for it to be my turn. When they finally got to me they said that my table was just taken. The family who jumped in front of me. Had taken our table. We were a party of three and they were a party of four. I was visibly upset and they put extra notes on our table for our server to give us extra pixie dust. We were also celebrating a birthday. Nothing special happened and there was no recognition of the birthday from our server besides a birthday button. Lori who was wearing a green outfit? It seemed like she was jumping into help because of how busy things were. Did give me a sheriff badge and apologized a few times. Especially after seeing myself and my daughter visibly upset. The manager just kind of looked at us like well what can you do. I had hoped that they would get the family to get up so we could get our table but I guess they allow people to jump the line at Disney. The family was able to stay the entire time and everyone else who waited their time now was further delayed because of them. The food was ok though. They used to do sausage and mashed potatoes with the carnivore lunch. Not really a big fan of the roasted potatoes. The first order came out with no onions or veg in the potatoes and the second order did. So there wasn't consistency. It's a cute restaurant and it seemed like a lot of the other servers were having fun with their tables. Our server was nice and friendly. The choices to dine in Walt Disney World are overwhelming. I chose this one because I thought we might catch a glimpse of the gorgeous Christmas tree in Wilderness Lodge, but as it turns out, we were a week too early. No regrets here though, because this was a kitschy and fun place to eat with great food. What are some of the silly things they do? Welllll, ask for ketchup and find out. (Fortunately my child does not like ketchup, but we assisted with the ploy to deliver ketchup to other tables.) I had the all-you-care-to-eat meat platter and it was sooooo good. They initially didn't bring the brisket or the coleslaw which were the two things I was most excited about! Fortunately our server brought it right over as soon as I requested it. It's a lot of food, but the leftovers made a hearty meal the next day. I loved the beans and the ribs too. You also get cornbread, which we all enjoyed (I tried not to fill up on that before my meal though). My son ate most of my chicken (although he called it turkey and I never corrected him). Mashed potatoes were on POINT. His dad had a steak and the potatoes au gratin served with his were absolutely amazing. They make a delicious and strong Old Fashioned. I seriously loved everything here that grazed my palate. Ambiance is a little noisy and crowded, but not enough to bother me. Service is amazing. Our server was funny and fun. If you don't want to be bothered, don't go here. It is not quiet and relaxing (don't let the "Whispering" part fool you.....anything BUT whispering goes on here), but it's an experience. We were sat in the back with a view of the lodge and that was nice, the inner restaurant seemed a bit chaotic. If you asked to go to the bathroom, the whole place will hear about it at the top of their lungs. Having said that the food is excellent, and the service is too. The service options for food very and it's really a Americana menu style from my perspective. Things sort of like a campfire or chuckwagon, except sitting in the middle of a very nice restaurant off of one of the most iconic Disney lodge settings for all of their properties. I love coming to whispering canyon cafe. It's soo yummy. I did the heritage skillet breakfast, which had eggs, sausage, bacon and biscuit. It was soo tasty and the best part it's all you can eat and it's not that pricey. The I also ordered an adult beverage toasted marshmallow coffee. I was soo good and a little strong. Our server was, Elvis, he made sure we weren't missing and he was pretty funny. The restaurant is pretty fun and lively. They pick people in the crown and make them "sheriffs" and they have to pick someone from a table to put in "jail". Oh they also have this thing that if someone asks for ketchup, the servers will scream out. "Ketchup" and everyone that has a ketchup bottle has to go and take it to that table! It's hilarious. It's a silly dining experience: expect your server to be a little sarcastic, have off-the-cuff remarks, in that regard it's a bit like 50's Prime Time Diner in Hollywood Studios. The cast is playing the role of sassy server. Remember, you're in on the joke and can give them sass back - the cast likes when you play along. If you don't like that sort of energy or are easily embarrassed (or don't want a real surprise when asking for ketchup, see chaos of pony rides in the restaurant, feel it's too loud - it's loud), this may not be the place for you. That said, I've been to Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast and dinner multiple times and I've never felt that the cast didn't care about my experience or do a great job delivering on service. Despite the shtick, they do a great job of taking care of you and making your meal memorable! I prefer breakfast over dinner at Whispering Canyon Cafe - there's better BBQ elsewhere, in my opinion.
