My car was hit (Nov.16th) in the right side between the rear door and the trunk by a lady leaving Starbucks on broadway .... her foot slipped onto the gas peddle and she jetted forward and creamed us ... we had the car towed to Narrow Way Refinish and Collision ... (at the time I was still calling it AJ's). The first thing asked of us is if we were ok or hurt ... (we were good) then the paperwork was filled out ... they even remembered to give us our garage door opener which we would have forgotten. Because of the holidays and parts available plus the busy mailing times it took a couple of months for the repairs to be finished. Every step of the way, we were informed of the progress of the repairs. They also communicated with the lady's insurance company directly .... when all the repairs were done they also cleaned our car inside and out ... it was beautiful ... Perfect ... could not even tell if it was ever hit ... matching paint etc ... We've been driving our car with some faults for a while. We requested an estimate on the repair cost. We went to several shops. The first one, the receptionist snapped some pictures for their estimator to make an estimate without ever seeing the car. Took our truck in 3weeks ago to get an estimate. Called after a week and was told two others in front of us. Waited two weeks still no estimate emailed. I understand if a shop is super busy but be honest and say "I'm sorry I am many weeks out". Luckily we didn't leave our truck there. The shop was full of autos in many different stages of work. The sun-scorched, tired exterior of our 21-year old Mercedes was the opposite of its rude mechanical health and fine interior condition, so I started looking for body shops some time ago. I am a life-long car nut, and am very particular about my cars. I did not want an unlimited paint job on this old car, but, it is still a Mercedes and deserves quality. I discovered Narrow Way, and was intrigued by the specificity of its website regarding pricing levels. I received indifferent estimates from several other places, with little reassurance of quality workmanship, e.g., that house paint wasn't simply going to be slapped on the car with a nylon brush. I called owner Tory, whose patient, pleasant, professional, personality signals integrity and trustworthiness. I took the Benz out for inspection, received a perfectly detailed quote for the exact scope of work discussed, and waited. I picked the car up yesterday exactly as estimated, and the work is stunning. Dual-stage PPG paint, with primer and full sanding. They did more work than was included in the estimate, like removing slight door dings that were not seen during the inspection. They managed to save the vast bulk of the 65 plastic clips that hold the lower body cladding to the car, saving me hundreds in parts. There is no doubt that the quality of the work makes the price paid a bargain. You pay $4K here, and you get something that looks twice that expensive. I brought my car in for minor damage to the front bumper. Although it was an older car, the damage was certainly an eye sore. I didn't want to spend much on the repair but wanted to make it look decent. The owner, Tory, took the the to listen to what I was looking for in the type of repair I was after. I just had a bumper repair done at narrow way after being in a minor rear end collision. After getting the standard 3 quotes from different places, Narrow way was the cheapest by far. It was under $500 where the other two were for $600 and $700. I wasn't paying for the repair though, so price wasn't my concern. The reason I ended up picking Narrow Way, was three things: Availability to get me in immediately and get the job done in less than 48 hours, great personal attention and service from the manager, very impressive quality work. Of all the quotes I got, Tore was the only person who spent time really looking at my car before scratching out some instant quote based on book numbers. He did a thorough inspection of the damage, took an appropriate amount of time (about 10 minutes) crunching the numbers, then explained in detail how he came up with the price. He didn't just plug in expected hours from a labor manual, he used it as a guide but adjusted each part individually based on what my specific vehicle needed. He also honestly answered my questions about the process and was the only one who told me the truth about what the "flex-additive" would really do. Never again will I use Tory (the owner) at Narrow Way. I brought in my swb GMC for full paint job. This was suppose to be a fun experience to finally get my project truck painted and it was the worst experience ever! The quoted time frame is anything but, that was 90 plus days over time quoted for starters! Tory has ZERO communication because he dodges your phone calls. Upon picking the truck up orange peel galore! Dust/dirt in paint I could go on. Tory said he would fix it, but what a let down, after everything I been through to get to this point. Crashed my 2010 Audi into a concrete pillar and needed a expensive repair paid out of pocket.
