I bought my snowblower from them 5 years ago and had no issues. Sales and delivery were good, and it's been running well since. It was starting to act up last week so I call on 1/20. They were able to pick it up the next day and did warn me they were about a week behind. There was a little more of a delay but that was because they still had my old phone number listed on their paperwork. Less than two weeks and it's ready. They'll have it delivered on the 5th. Very happy with the service. Only reason it's not 5 stars is the price is a bit high, but it did include pick up and drop off. read more

We've been customers of Nashua Outdoor Power for some time, but unfortunately today, you've lost a customer. If I could give this experience a zero rating I would. My husband, after performing the maintenance on our mower and having it still not start, brought it to Outdoor Power for help. They told him that since he did the maintenance it shouldn't take long to fix it, and it would probably take about a week. Two weeks later we received a call that the carburetor was broken and we needed a new blade, which would take about 3-5 days. Slightly annoyed that it already took an extra week for that call, we understood (being in customer service ourselves) that sometimes things happen and we would wait the 3-5 days. Fast forward and we still heard nothing. My husband finally called up again after two weeks and we were told they were waiting for the blade to arrive from Husqvarna. They said they would follow up with us on when the blade would arrive but never called back. My husband then called the following Saturday seeking an update and was told that there was an issue with Husqvarna and some of the crates never showed up and they were fighting with Husqvarna to get it resolved. My husband called again this past Saturday and we were told they were still waiting on the blade, but had to wait for Aaron Nickerson, service manager, to give us a call back and advise us on the situation. Aaron did call my husband on Monday and said it was out of his control and that my husband should take the initiative to call Husqvarna and complain about Nashua Outdoor Power's order to escalate our situation. At that point a loaner mower was offered to us with no guarantee this mower would be done in time, which my husband declined because we had ordered a blade off of Amazon at that point and it was arriving today. In customer service, why is it the customer's responsibility to escalate your issue? It is very disappointing that this is what was explained as a way to solve our problem after it was clearly being escalated. It is not our problem to solve your distribution issues. Shouldn't that be Aaron's job as the service manager for your company? It took over 6 weeks to get our mower back, my husband ordered a blade to see what would happen and it took a week to arrive to our home. In 6 weeks, what do you think our lawn looks like? It amazes me it took 6 weeks to even be offered the loaner. It cost $180 to get this all repaired and done. The best you could do was $20 off to save the customer. To boot, when the mower was handed over to us, you had placed a large decal of your company on our mower without asking our permission to do so. What makes you think this would be okay after 6 weeks of waiting and clearly the customer wasn't happy? Now we have the annoyance of using all of our goo gone to take this off. We went to your company expecting a premium service, and your service was completely unacceptable. We'll be looking to ordering our parts from Amazon going forward and hiring the neighborhood serviceman to do the work. read more

I purchased a new John Deere lawn tractor 3 years ago. It came with a three year warranty I thought bumper to bumper. We'll I contacted John Deere corporate and was told my seat on my s240 tractor was not covered. My seat had cracked and the money I spent on this tractor which wasn't cheap corporate wouldn't cover. I called my local Dealer United Turf in Amherst NH which was previously Nashua Outdoor Equipment and told them my story. Dave who works in Service said he would see what he could do and would get back to me. Dave called me back within an hour had spoke with management there and notified me they'd warranty my seat on their dime. Were talking a 400.00 seat. I don't know what to say but you have a customer for life. Thanks Dave and United Turf of Amherst NH. If you're in the market for a new tractor please check these guys out. Went to the Nashua location to research a new lawn tractor. The sales guy there was very helpful and informative even though I gather they don't sell the 1000 series and larger at that storefront. He took the time to discuss options and even though I was obviously in the tire-kicking phase expressed no reservations of annoyance at looking up real pricing for me. He even sent a couple of guys who were obviously regular clients and friends to another associate because he was sitting with me. Were this review only about the Nashua location it would be 4 or 5 stars. However, I then stopped at the location out Amherst St. where they actually stock and sell the larger Deeres. I was taking a look around at a tractor similar to what I had been quoted when a salesman came out and asked if I needed something. I told him I had been at the Nashua store and had been talking to someone about a 1000 series tractor. He then started to interrogate me about who I had talked to and about what because "they're not supposed to quote these (machines) down there". As if the internal sales politics of Nashua Outdoor Power are anything I should have to care about... When I told him I just wanted to take a look at the kind of tractor I was interested in he left without a word. Horrible, arrogant, ignorant customer service that has lost my business. If I could go back to the original sales guy and be assured he'd get my commission they'd probably have a sale, but I have no doubt he won't get it because of the way these places are structured. Too bad a good customer service experience could be ruined by a bonehead too worried about his commission to be polite. read more

We went in to have a John Deere lawn mower fixed at the Amherst store. Note they do NOT fix at the Amherst store - only the Nashua one. At first they were nice and said they could get the lawn mower to the Nashua store for us. We pulled it out and they took it out back. As we started to ask about what the timing/cost might be the gentleman working at the front flippantly replied they had no idea, it would make it to Nashua "when the truck comes" which they didn't know when that would be. We asked if they would let us know what the cost would be - he said that would cost $30 for an estimate. We then requested just a call when they see it in Nashua to recommend if we should even fix it - he rudely replied "what the... do you want it fixed or not"? As he typed his "notes" in the computer, his buddy standing behind him started to chuckle as did the guy "helping" us. I can't stand terrible customer service. I had recently spoken with someone there about possibly buying a riding lawn mower. I was trying to stay out of the box stores and support more locally - but with today, I'm pretty sure I've changed my mind. I'll go back to a box store if someone can help me over being treated in such a condescending way. Who needs that? read more

I purchased a new ignition switch for my tractor. It cost me close to $50. A few weeks went by and I finally had time to put in the new switch. It still did not work. After exhausting all options I hired a tractor engineer to assist me in determining what was wrong. He tested the continuity of the new ignition switch and it was not working. It was obviously defective. So I returned to Nashua Outdoor Equipment to get the switch swopped out for one that worked. The parts employee was rude, condescending, and refused to even test the switch let alone replace it with a new working one. I do not recommend doing business at this place if they allow their employees to be so rude and unhelpful. L H read more

Seems that I am not alone in my observations of the poor service and quality of repairs. I had a John Deere lawn tractor serviced by their mobile unit (comes to your home). The concept is great, but the result is less than ideal. After they serviced my mower it never ran correctly again. They also did something to the deck and I went from having a mower that cut my lawn perfectly and evenly to a mower that butchered my lawn. They attempted to rectify the situation but failed. I now use another John Deere reseller for service and new sales. read more

I spent several days on the phone, people fail to call back, the driveway is piled with snow and i can not get the blower back. When I call they tell me not to teach them how to run their business. Update: they did call me back, this person was nice and helpful. Answered all the questions and scheduled a timely delivery. Update 2: the lost my keys. When I first called Doug told me the driver started the tractor to check and left the key in the ignition. Now they tell me they never had the key. That is not true it was in the ignition when they picked it up. They were very rude about it. Horrible customer service. read more

Takes way too long to service equipment. Would love to purchase a Deere 300 series. Taking 3+ weeks for service just doesn't "cut" it!

Please allow me to set the stage. I purchased over $10K worth of John Deere from this place in 2012. Now lets fast forward to about a month ago in May 2014 when my double bag power flow belt got chewed up and I needed a replacement. Notwithstanding this place is about 25 miles away, I drove all the way there with my broken belt assuming to get a quick replacement. So, after waiting for what seemed forever, I paid the $35, got the new belt, threw out the old and was on my way. For anyone who's take apart a power flow unit, it's quite daunting the first time with all the pulley's etc. Over the next few weeks, I must have taken that thing apart 3 or 4 times in trying to figure out why it seemed the unit was making odd sounds and the belt seemed to be not as powerful and slipping. Over the last few weeks, when I found an extra 5 minutes in my weekend, I'd research on-line, look up YouTube videos, etc in trying to find out what the problem was. Not much luck..... Anyway, this morning 18 June, I finally gave in. I went on-line for a mission to find the actual belt part number for the power flow unit on a x530 with the 2 bagger. After about 45 minutes, I finally found it. I called Nashua Outdoor power at 0800 when they opened and asked it they had the belt in stock. The gentleman said he had one left and would put it to the side in my name........SCORE. I then took the power flow unit apart again, and low and behold...the belt they gave me was the wrong one. Not only a different part number, but 3 inches too long. I took it off and after lunch started my journey again to Nashua Outdoor power. When I got there, the same gentleman that gave me the wrong belt 3 weeks or so ago....smiled and asked if he could help me. I mentioned that I called that morning at 0800 when they opened and had a belt put to the side for me. So, flashbacks to the last visit...what seemed like forever....he comes back and says, "can't find it, but can order you one and it will take a couple days." Holding back as much as I could, I reiterated that I called that morning and there was one in stock with my name on it, I just drove 25 miles one way, and that I shouldn't be here in the first place because I was given the wrong belt a few weeks back. He told me to relax and that he'd again try to find it. Now about 10 minutes later, he comes back and says they have the belt at the other store (they have 3 of them), and that the owner can drive it to me or I can drive the 5 or so miles and get it myself. Well, I figured I had nothing to loose except more time at this point. So, I opted for the latter and was on my way. When I got there the belt I needed was waiting on the counter for me. I passed the gentleman at the counter the belt that didn't fit with the original packaging. He says to me, "where is your receipt?" I said,"are you kidding me." He said that store policy was that we need a receipt on all refunds and what's not to say you purchased this at Walmart or something and are just coming here? I said, but I bought the tractor here and it's not a refund, that it's an exchange. He said, it's not an exchange because we don't accept back used merchandise. I said, "Seriously....your other store originally gave me the wrong belt and because I tried to use it a few times, and it didn't work it's now used????? He said, "yup, store policy?" Anyway, I could go one...but the owner was there and added a little common sense to the situation. I got the belt I originally needed and when I got home I even emailed a picture of the original receipt of the first belt that was the wrong size. Thought I'd share, because I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't just go thru all this myself.....Not even a kind gesture (free stuff----such as a chair cover, etc) from all the unnecessary time wasted read more

My family and I bought a new home where we were in the need of a new lawn tractor. I did some research and with having John Deere's in my family, I decided that was the way to go for us. We were on our way home and stopped at the Amherst st store and met with Al. He was full of knowledge that helped steer me in the right direction. Al was very polite to my wife and two toddlers. He let my son sit on what then turned into my new x350. He explained the features and benefits of the x350 and I could not be more pleased with my experience. It just got delivered today flawlessly and the delivery driver was informative as well. I even stopped by later the same day after I received my x350 and immediately felt like family there. I've purchased parts at both locations and haven't had any issues. Recently, I bought a set of blades for my tractor at the Amherst store and for some reason they didn't fit (correct part number according to Deere and the dealer gave me the right part). I didn't save the receipt (my fault), but Joe was able to pull up the invoice based on the purchase date listed on my CC invoice. It took a while but eventually we found it. With the receipt I was able to exchange the blades for another set that fit properly. Joe even called the Nashua location to see if they had the blades in stock and set them aside for me. Thanks for going above and beyond to help get my JD tractor running again. read more

BUYERS BEWARE: Nashua Store!!!!! Want to spend hundreds of dollars per year to have a generator, snowblower, and Honda lawnmower maintained and service only to get your equipment back dirty, seemingly unattended, and often not working properly? How about getting the wrong snowblower delivered to your house after the company has had it sitting around their shop for two month? How about paying $137.00 dollars for these guys to put a governor spring back in place -- not replace it, mind you, but simply reconnect it? Like a "customer service" manager who hangs up on your when you ask for a refund of the outrageous price of reattaching the spring and getting back a lawn mower that still doesn't start, despite telling the service dept before they picked up the mower that it starts intermittently and they should look at the carburetor? Moreover, how about the service manager implying that you, a four to five year long customer, are lying about this company delivering the wrong snowblower, repeatedly saying, "we don't service snowblowers!" Given the shoddy work they do, I now believe the service manager when he says "we don't service snowblowers." In fact, they don't service snowblowers, generators, lawnmowers, or anything else you give them. Nor do they return your call when you speak to the general sales manager about the issues mentioned here and who assures you he'll speak to the general manager, and get back to you with an answer on your refund request. They certainly can collect some serious cash for the little or seemingly no service they provide,only bad service and empty promises from the top. Yet, when the phone don't ring, or when your "serviced" equipment don't work, you can be sure it's Nashua Outdoor Power Equipment. If your answer to any these questions was "yes," I like to be abused as a customer, by all means buy from this company. If you're smart, however, you'll go elsewhere. You have been warned. Took tractor in for repair. Simple Cable and deck alignment. Blade engage still not 100% but I won't bother bringing back to have them fix. As they loaded my tractor onto my truck we noticed the brand new belt was frayed. The manger came out and wouldn't even listen to me that it was a brand new belt he just kept saying it wasn't their fault. This was in Nashua store. read more

Bought an Ariens 28 Sho last month. Doesn't seem to run right. Back fires a lot when idling, and runs very lean. Smell is strong and gives me head aches when using. Runs okay when under load, but immediately runs lean, and back fires as if the choke is slightly on when idling. I've dropped off at service twice, and after weeks with no call backs, and their management rushing me out, it still doesn't run correct. I've asked to exchange it, or at the very least, see how other snowblowers run. I was told an exchange was too complicated, and that listening to other machines won't help due to the current temperatures right now. I'm not a small engine engineer, but if my snow blower runs different than the same one on their floor, we can assume somethings wrong? I can see why they refused. Lastly, and the main reason I'm writing this review, is Jeff in Amherst told me he thinks I just wanted to buy a snow blower, use it once, and then try to return it. Why would I buy an upgraded snowblower for 1400.00 from a dealer in cash, and why ask for an exchange? I have never been treated like this ever, and I'm disgusted, and insulted. I just moved to the area in Hollis, purchased a new home, and need a lot of equipment. Was hoping to start a great relationship with this dealer, given my hobbies with firewood, and property maintenance. I will never buy from them again, and I've alerted everyone I know looking for equipment. Thanks for the warm welcome to the area Nashua Outdoor Power Equipment. I didn't know anything about John Deere and was thinking of buying one locally. I wanted mostly a loader type for stone, dirt, mulch, rocks etc... Wanting information of different types of machines and there limitations I drove an hr up to John Deere in Nashua. I went to the first store and was met with very friendly professional people who explained that the tractors were sold at another building up the road towards Milford NH. I went to the second location and there was a gentleman on the phone in his office. I waited and he asked what he could do for me while he was waiting on the line. I explained that I was thinking of buying a 1996 JD 455 locally but knew nothing about them. He immediately said that he was extremely busy but the 455 was a nice garden tractor then went back to talking on the phone. I waited and would of waited until he was done but he stopped the conversation and said again " I am extremely busy and it would be a while".. I said that's fine I just wanted to know what attachments and was about to ask limitations.. he stopped me and for the third time told me he was busy that if I wanted to come back and go through a book with his parts guy I could.. the 455 was a nice machine and that he recently sold the loader attachment for it. (hope this jogs his memory if he reads this) now I get that people are busy and I totally understood so I walked out and figured I would come back another time.. I decided to go in back and look at some of the new machines for myself.. I was there for about 10 minutes when a older couple pulled up.. the next thing I know the "extremely busy" salesman is following the couple to a machine in front and talking about attachments, what it can do .. how nice the machine was and spent almost 20 minutes with them for them to say that the machine is not for them and drove off.. Here's the kicker Mr. Salesman. At that particular time. I had a $7000.00 down payment and great credit. I seen the 455 for sale but I wasn't sold on it... because you thought I wasn't a sale, I didn't matter to you. Had you took the time to tell me about the limitations of the 455.. and gave me more than 3 minutes of your time I may of bought the very machine you were speaking to the other couple about...Experience wasn't all that bad.. there were some mechanics in back who were very courteous and did answer questions about some of the dump trailers there. I thank you for the responding however your response doesn't make any sense at all. I never said I was on my way to buy a 455 and my time was limited... I said I was thinking of buying a JD 455 but didn't know anything about it... thats exactly what I told him.. what I didn't say was I was thinking of buying a new tractor which is why I believe I got the response or lack of that I did... so here's where your response doesn't fly with me. 1) He was on the phone explaining about how to attach the loader to a customer that wasn't on level ground nothing confidential there... anyone who has ever been in that store knows that it wouldn't matter where I was in that store, I would of over heard the conversation even if the door was shut... so short of throwing out your potential customers there is no way to go around it. 2) I get he was the only salesman there at that moment, HOWEVER he wasn't the only employee as there were 3 others in back who were talking to each other about a tractor.. They may of been able to tell me the limitation of the 455 but that was never offered as they seemed to be the mechanics and probably better with specifications. 3) He wasn't on the phone and was able to help when the older couple came through on a whim and after they drove off I was still there..how do I know they just dropped by ?? I was there when they pulled up and the older gentleman said let me see if I can get some help to his wife... Your salesman seen me still there, he knew I had questions and walked right back in the store....(That's what burned me) Wouldn't it of been nice to ask you all set? did I answer your questions?? he was not in the building at the time AND wasn't on the phone but he didn't .. he walked back in with out a word. So while I thank you for at least acknowledging my review, your response seemed more of an excuse, spin on what happened and damage control rather than the truth... bad customer service. It would of been better just to say sorry you had this experience people are human and he was overwhelmed..that would of went better for me.. but this response?? there was no need for all the bad excuses and assumptions as most of what you said wasn't the case. I went in the Nashua Outdoor Power Equipment 96 NH-101A Amherst, NH 03031 last week to purchase a few items. No one was in the show room. Within seconds of me entering the store, I heard someone in the parts room speaking to someone else in the parts room being extremely negative about disabled Veterans. I do not wish to repeat what was said. I immediately left the store in complete and utter disgust. I am all for Freedom of Speech, but not in a place of business. I refuse to step foot in either location and would rather drive to a different state for my equipment needs. After shopping around and stopping by several dealerships, I ended up at Nashua Outdoor Power. I dealt with Al, not only was Al professional, but he was also very knowledgeable of his equipment. I purchased a 1025R, I was very pleased with my experience. When picking up my tractor I was able to interact with several of the technicians on site who were also friendly and respectful. If you are in the market for any outdoor power equipment and/or tractor, I highly recommend you stop in at Nashua Outdoor Power first. Top of the line customer service. Very Poor service. Used them for my mint condition snowblower (that has been always been stored in my garage) for a pre-season tune-up. They had it for over a month without ever committing to a finish date or range of time. When I called to cancel service, then had it finished that day and of course nothing more was needed than the tune up and he confirmed it was in mint condition. Second run of the season and the traction control cable snapped due to rust and the only time that it has been outdoors is while it waited for service. It was an awful customer experience and I can't believe they put their sticker on my property. read more

I have been a customer of NOPE for years, but in the past few years, they have been sub par. Their service department is very slow and seem not to give a hoot about anything. I took a 2 cycle motor in to be fixed and they took forever (like a month) to get it done and it did not even run afterwards. I had to take it back a second time and in about 2 weeks (after I called them a couple of times) they had it done. It did actually run this time, but it was a miserable experience getting it done. I recently went to see if I could get some parts for a generator carburetor. Their parts are overpriced and the guy behind the parts counter has a real attitude problem. At least they helped me remember a better place to go (because I need to get these parts somewhere): Milford Power Equipment. I'd forgotten about them and they have always been courteous, helpful with very reasonable prices. read more

Unfortunately this is not a reputable company in my opinion. I was given a good quote on a new tractor and bagger setup and everything seemed great, but then after paying for the machine in full, I found out that what I was getting was not exactly brand new. After going round and round with a few people I asked to cancel the sale. That's when they became extremely difficult to deal with, especially the sales manager. He told me they wouldn't process a refund over the phone. I ended up having to go back to the store and waiting 2 hours just to get refunded. Just left the Nashua Outdoor Power supply service department; had an issue with my new snow blower that I purchased from them in November. Explained to the service person that the snow blower pulled to the left, he said he would have it looked at and call me back. I received a call about two hours later and was told snow blower was ready for pick up. When I went in I asked what the problem was he told me the problem was I didn't know how to use the differential disengage lever. I explained that not only did I have the problem, but I had four other people try to use the snow blower one being the owner of a landscaping and plowing business. We all had the same issue. I explained that and was once again told I didn't know how to operate the snow blower and was asked if I had bothered to read the manual. Yes, I did read the manual and found it funny that when the mechanic brought the snow blower out he mentioned that he made an adjustment to one of the skid shoes. I didn't think anything of this until I got home and put the snow blower in the garage. Funny but I noticed that the snow blower seemed level when before I took it for service it would rock from side to side when I tried to move it... Seems to me that may have been the problem and if it wasn't why would the mechanic tell me he had to adjust the skid shoe. If I am asked by anyone if I would recommend Nashua Outdoor Power I will tell them about the lousy service I received from the service department and will recommend that they buy somewhere else. Sales department was great when I bought the now blower, but when I'm all but called an idiot from the service department have to figure that they do not need the business. read more
