We recently bought a house in Crown Point and as someone who always tries to shop local, I decided to try Nason's instead of the other local appliance shop we normally patronize. Big mistake! I was not impressed from the get go but decided to stick with them as they had the particular stove I needed in stock. I found the owner, Mitch, to be unorganized, condescending and it was almost like I was a bother to him. He refused to honor the price I was given even though I had it in writing. DO NOT BUY APPLIANCES FROM NASONS. I waited two years to give this business a chance and even write a review. And I am done. I built a home and used Nason's Appliance for appliances. In 2022 I called and called to try and talk to our contact there (Kristine or Kristina). She never called me back. In June 2022, I finally had to drive up there. And contact my builders who put us in a text together. This was initially to replace a panel they scratched up. It first came in the wrong color. Then the next time bent. Finally a working panel came in 2024 (2 years later). But their tech came and legit broke pieces of the appliance and broke the screws in the machine. He just placed the tops of the screws in the holes and some tops just came right off. Now the panel of the appliance is loose because the screws can't hold it in place firmly. The problem is worse than before- scratched it up again, panel loose, screws broke in the machine. The tech then lied about how long he was here and Nasons implied I scratched and damaged up my own appliance. Which we did not. I paid way too much money on something to get less than a perfect product and quality service. And let alone damage it myself. I should have just done Home Depot or something. At least there I would know what I was paying for. EDIT TO ADD they finally did an exchange. I got my new appliance. I will say the guys were patient and great. They unboxed it outside. I was like nope. You're taking it up in the box so it doesn't get scratched. I'm tired of dealing with Nasons.They took the damaged one. Set the new one in the room for me. I had my husband take his time, as they should have the last two times, rolling it back so as not to get scratched. Now I got what paid for. I commend Nasons for making it right. Amazing customer service! I'm in the middle of a remodel and working with our contractors & kitchen designer appliances were all ordered from another region supplier in January 2022. 5 months later I'm told that my oven won't arrive now until Feb 2023 and not much they can do about it. My cabinets were custom built around the appliances ordered, but not having an oven/microwave for over a year? Was simply unacceptable & I original seller didn't seem to have any solutions. I callled Nasons to see what they might have stock or able to get stock sooner but other brands had different measurements and I was stressed about it fitting. I wanted 21 inch and sales person didn't tell me until after they delivered it was 22 inch refrigerator. now the back door doesn't open all the way. I first went on line because the refrigerator wasn't cooling. when I gave them the model the service man said that this unit just went on sale from $1099 to $699. he said the refrigerator I had was 17 years old by the time he would replace the compressor you are looking at $300-500 dollars. he suggested getting the new one! so nice to have someone who is looking out for his customers instead of just making money off them. Don't shop here! Was sold a wall oven that they knew was defective. NIPSCO had to come to the house due to the gas leak. Kristina was trying to charge me a restocking fee because she said it was a special order- the oven was in their warehouse, not a "special order." I had an attorney step in to explain restocking fee not applicable. They refunded the cost of the wall oven however not the install which was not done correctly! Not a professionally run business or installation. Kristina is not well organized and Rich not a good installer. The kitchen was trashed with dirt/mud and husband had to help hold it while he connected. We called Abt and what a difference! Recently, I walked into Nason's to look for a wall oven. The older man at the counter was writing in a large book and took more than a few seconds to acknowledge me. (I wasn't walking around; I was standing in front of him.) There were two other ladies there. One walked away and the other was just leaning over the counter talking to the man. Without even stopping the writing or looking up, he finally asked if he could help me. After I asked him if they had any wall ovens he told me that they had one and he hoped I liked chrome. He never said, "Let me see what we can order for you." Nothing else! This was a little after 3:00, not closing time, but I felt that I wasn't wanted there. Wife and I purchased all of our appliances from Nason's for our new home as recommended buy our builders realtor . We were going to go to ABT put the realtor said not to go out of the box {so so sorry for listening}. Kristina was are sales person and believe me a great LIAR . Our refrigerater had damage to the front doors as well on the side panels. Wife called and she said our doors would be replaced but as far as the sides she could give us a $200 credit back on our charge card. We waited several weeks and made several calls to Nason's about the problems and to find out when they would take care of it. Majority of the time messages went to Kristinas voice mail and we were told only she can handle it. One time spoke to Eric the owner and got the run around. This problem has been going on since July 2023 we were told in November of 2023 that the doors were ordered and will be having them installed. I called Samsung about the doors and representative said freezer door was no longer available and one fridge door was on back order. I asked how much is the cost about $400 each for fridge doors and she said they should have taken fridge back and replaced it as it would probably be less expensive. After talking to the rep. I realized Kristina was LYING again. I went on Nason's web site and gave them a bad review and amazingly that was the first time Kristina called back so fast. We bought a stackable washer and dryer. Top of the line Maytag from Masons Appliance In Crown Point which was supposed to be delivered today.. when it came we were told that they did not have a stacking kit to stack the stackable washer and dryer and that it was "Our Fault" because we should have told them we planned on stacking the stackable washer and dryer... In fact, that is EXACTLY what I told our sales person when we bought it.. Then when I called the store to find out when they would be back with the stacking kit Christina Peterson told us it would not be until next week because they have other deliveries to make... I told her I have to do laundry before then, that is why I bought this set because I was told it would be delivered by Friday... She told me they have"multi-million" dollar clients and we would have to wait.. So, I guess our $3,000 purchase was not important enough to make sure it was correct.. I have absolutely no intention on shopping with Nason's Appliance again and plan on canceling my present order with them first thing in the morning when they open.. read more

We purchased $8,000 in appliances for our newly built home . The installers were unprofessional , sloppy, walked around on our new hardwood floors without cleaning their feet and damaged our new custom cabinets due to sloppy installation techniques. . The incorrect refrigerator was ordered and the trim kit for microwave oven was forgotten twice .When asked about reimbursement to fix the damaged cabinet we were told by the salesperson that it would be handled , but to this date -no follow up has been arranged . Today I called Nason's to confirm our 3:30-5pm appointment window and review what still needed completion . The installer arrived three hours early without the trim kit and said he needed to go to Ace because he was not told about the stove hood. Again he traipsed around my new kitchen with shoes on from on a wet, muddy non paved driveway I will never use Nason's again - the worst customer service I've ever experienced . read more

Be prepared to have to shop online with the salesperson, of 2 present they were quite busy that they can not give you their attention and they get very distracted. After purchasing a dishwasher, stove and hood with only print outs I thought I was done. Next day as I'm looking up everything online in peace and quiet I see that the stove I ordered was not a self cleaning! I told Terri that I wanted self cleaning. Called and got Christina, I told her my problem and we both searched online for a self cleaning. She came back to the phone excited that she had found a stove, self cleaning, convection oven and air fryer and although listed at $779. would give to me for $699. only 50 more than I had paid. I copied the numbers and printed out the new stove. when it was delivered, that's not the stove i received! I did receive a self cleaning stove, but NOT the one sold to me. Ends up I'm keeping what was delivered, because they took my old stove! The delivery guys did not ask me to verify it was the correct stove, so I thought it was. They did slide it in place, however not until they left did I see that the bottom drawer was not installed correctly. And we had to pay for new electric cord, but they handed it to me in a bag and didn't install it. What's that all about? John, who installed the hood and dishwasher did do a wonderful job. Purchased a maytag washer on 12/30. The main circuit board went out on 1/26. Less than 30 days! Ok, fine. These things happen. Called to get service, no one could make it out for 4 days. Although I was upset with the delay, what could I do? I assumed that they would have the part that went out, as my husband and the owner had talked about what could be wrong with it. Nope. It took 11 days for the part to even come in. During that time, my husband located the part and fixed it himself. At no point during those days 2 weeks did anyone call to let us know when the part would come in. I had to call every day. Terrible customer service!! Ryan, the part guy, hung up on me the first call I made to find out why it would take 4 days to get someone out. Maybe they delayed it out of spite? The only positive thing I can say is that the repair man was very nice. So over all, I spent 900.00 on a washer and an extra 300+ on a part so i wouldn't be without a washer while waiting on the part that we were able to get faster than Nasons. If we would've waited, we would've been without a washer for 2+ weeks. Unacceptable! Avoid this place at all costs. read more

Purchased kitchen appliances just months before and had no issues...need a dryer now. Went in on Saturday and paid more for an in stock dryer that could be delivered on Wednesday. Was told we would be called the night before with a time (didn't happen) husband called Wednesday morning and was told delivery between 10-12 (never showed) several calls to find out why and left messages (no call back) finally got thru to service & parts put us thru to delivery. We were told that we WERE called Tuesday and that WE changed delivery to Friday. (We had plans with family to go to the zoo for my birthday on Friday) Told them we never spoke to them and we're told that the girl wrote it down so it had to be true. I asked why husband was given a time of 10-12 on Wednesday morning when he called they said they didn't know, wouldn't give us a delivery for Thursday or Saturday and even threatened to cancel the purchase because we complained. So we had to cancel our plans to be home for the delivery on Friday. Not even an apology, the customer service failed horribly in our situation and I wouldn't recommend Nason's Appliances. Bought a full array of Kitchenaid appliances from Nasons. The refrigerator is on backorder and I have to keep calling about because they keep moving the delivery date out farther. They delivered and installed my microwave and dishwasher. The installer left me with a water leak under the sink that I fixed myself because their paperwork states that they are NOT responsible for such things. The installer was driving an open pick up truck so he refused to take the huge cardboard boxes and debris from the job. He promised to send another guy in a truck to pick up the refuse. Bought a new refrigerator a few weeks ago. Needed openings to switch from L to R. Employee did so on our premises. when completed, unit was tilted way backwards and rocked back and forth. Placed a wedge from me and unit level and solid. How ever after he left, noticed freezer door is level. Lower door slanted L to R 1/4 inch. Called Nason s (4 times), no response. Called again 2 days later and was told someone will be sent to repair/fix same. Week later, no response or action. Salesman would not return phone calls, thought it was all funny. In August 2016, we had a brand new kitchen installed, including new cabinets. At the time, the company installed the old microwave which was working fine. In August 2017, the switch quit working, I called NIPSCO, and they sent out Nason's Appliances on August 21st. The repair person came out & stated that he could not order the switch for my microwave (9/6/17). on 9/7/17, I went to their store. As I perused the various models, I told the salesman I wanted one of the microwaves with a shelf in it so that I could heat two plates at once. He directed me to two different models that could be purchased in white and would have the shelf in it. I selected the one that I did because he told me that the other model would take a long time to come in- that it was harder to get in white- and I couldn't go any longer without a working microwave (I believe he said it would take at least a month for the 2nd model.) So I selected the other model for expedience purposes. The service man returned to install the microwave on September 13th, 2017. Upon his departure, I inspected the new microwave and found: 1) that the glass that covered the light above the stove was shattered, and 2) that there was no shelf- which was the reason I selected this model. I contacted the salesperson and he told me that they would provide me with the other model with the shelf- a Whirlpool- which cost a bit more- at no extra cost, but it would take a while to get it in and I could just use the one they installed until the other arrived. Finally, on October 9th, the serviceman came to install the new microwave. Mind you, this is above the stove & I am 5' 2"- so I cannot see into it unless I get a chair to get up and look in there. So immediately upon his exit, I got up on a chair in order to check it out and to put away all of the spices that needed to be removed for the installation. What I found were several, VERY large, gaping holes in the cabinet (large enough for a spice bottle to pass through!) In fact, where the microwave is bolted in- half of each area- there is no support for the bracket at all due to these large holes. I immediately took photos and sent them to my husband, and asked him to get ahold of the salesperson and let him know about it- to send him the pictures and to tell him these are brand new cabinets, which he did. I contacted Schilling Lumber, where the cabinets were purchased, to find out how much that particular cabinet costed- it was under $200 at that time due to a sale. That price did not include installation. Initially, my husband was told that we could pay for it ourselves and they would reimburse us, or perhaps they could install the cabinet themselves. I told him we really could not afford to do that due to the holidays coming up, and that it would be better for them to pay for it up front & that it was not THAT expensive and it was on sale at that time. This communication has gone on back and forth for several months, until recently. My husband again contacted them a month ago, and at this point, they refused to pay for it and said once the serviceman leaves the premises, it's too late to do anything about errors or damage during the visit. Again- there was no physical way for me to see the damage until I pulled a chair up to stand on it to see into the cabinet above the stove. We have tried for several months to work out a solution with this company & they refuse to correct the damage they did to my brand new cabinets. This is unacceptable. Further, in retrospect, I don't believe they had the right to tell me that I had to buy my new appliance from them in the 1st place. Find a more responsible store with good customer service that is willing to correct their errors if damage is done to your home. Nason's is not a business that takes responsibility! read more

Did not write this review until after a second issue with them. Very long story, but I purchased a washer and dryer from them. Not the cheapest but we wanted to support a local business. The delivery guys came and immediately said they couldn't install the dryer, it needed a different vent. Ok, paid the extra money for a different vent system and then they still couldn't install it, said I need to move the vent in my home (wish they would've said that before). Moved the vent as instructed (we are now 2 weeks with no dryer). Installation guy comes and when he leaves, the laundry room fills with steam, the dryer was not hooked up correctly. Have to wait another day - - then comes back and now the dryer light in broken, has to come back for that, so after 22 days of no dryer it finally works. Well, now the wash machine just I leaking all over my laundry room. Called and the VERY rude scheduler tells me I have to wait 5 days for them to get there. Needless to say I called someone else. BUT, my wood floors are warped and the drywall is shot behind the machine. I took pics and a video of where the installation guys did not install the wash machine correctly, so it has been leaking for weeks!!!!! Called and talked to a manager who cut me off and said I will just have the owner call you. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN NASON'S AGAIN, NOR WILL I EVER RECOMMEND THEM. Very poor service after the sale of 4 major appliances. Dryer quit heating after 6 days; LG testing showed it was due to faulty installation. Nason's disagreed but stated they would switch out that dryer for a new one. That new dryer was supposed to be installed today but it was not. Nason's now says "maybe tomorrow, maybe Wednesday". On the sale of the double wall oven, the salesperson promised to ask the rep to try to get it here by Thanksgiving (original date by Nason's was over two weeks from date of sale, putting it after Thanksgiving). I had to call numerous times because he did not follow up with the rep. I do not recommend this business; poor customer service, uncaring attitude. read more

The last time I spoke with a nice woman and told her it would be their easiest sale -I would do it all over the phone and didn't even need to come in. Bought a dryer here a couple months back and had an issue with it almost immediately. They came to fix it but accidentally ripped the flooring underneath when pulling the dryer out. I wasn't happy. They tried to make it right by buying me new flooring but it didn't match up well and he didn't come prepared so I cancelled it all together. My dryer still had the exact issue after being fixed the second time as well. My husband and I then went into Nason's to just return the darn dryer all together and start over and upon entering Ryan honored the transaction immediately. My husband and I were shocked and relieved we didn't have to argue to get it returned. We ended up buying a different dryer and a matching washer both maytag front loaders from Ryan. He was wonderful to work with and made it right with us for the hassle! Because of how they handled it all, we will now definitely be back and we love our new washer and dryer! read more

I purchased a Maytag washer and dryer set. I took over a month to come because of COVID which is understandable. The problem was the installation of both appliances. Neither would work. I spoke to the owner and he said he couldn't do anything for me, not even trade the broken ones for the floor models. It would take 4-6 weeks for a new set. I told him to order them and I would wait. The next day I received a call that said I would be receiving a refund on my credit card and that the order wouldn't be made. I called back 3 times and left a messages with 2 different sales associates. Since I didn't receive a call back I drove there to get my credit. The salesperson finally called me back 9 hours later. I am really disappointed with this business and how they wouldn't offer any way to fix this. So much for using a small business. I have to compliment the delivery guys. We bought a washer, dryer, dishwasher and microwave & didn't want to pay installation just wanted delievery. So my fiancé goes to hook everything up and there's no hardware to hook it up. They took the hardware out of the box so we had to go to Home Depot to buy every kit to go with each appliance. Never again will we go to them or recommend them. Dealing with Nason's is a nightmare. I purchased a washer and dryer through Stephan which was supposed to be delivered on 11/30/18. I called at 4:50pm to find out what time fram the delivery would be here. They did not know and had to call me back. At 6:15, I received a call back telling me that the dryer was not in yet. What? Paid for, and no dryer. Washer was scheduled to be delivered the next day and delivery men came an hour earlier than 2 hour time frame. I was not ready for them. Washer was installed with old water lines, due to the fact the guy could not get the old one off. New lines were left at residence. At 1:44pm, I called Nason's the same day to find out if they knew when the dryer was going to "come in". Stephan, the manager, told he he did not know and would call me back later to let me know. At 4:10pm I called back and no answer (they were open until 7pm) so I left a message on answering machine. I called back at 5:40pm, and still no answer. December 1st, I called at 11:54am and spoke to Stephan and he said that it would probably be in on Monday, December 3rd and he would call me. Monday came and went and no phone call. Gee, what a surprise. Tuesday December 4th, I called at 10:17 am and spoke with Stephan again and he stated that possibly it would be in by the 7th. Quite a run around and poor customer service and follow through. Definitely would not be going back there again, and would not recommend them to anyone. read more
