I wound up going to Natal Auto Repair because I was involved in an accident. I was rear-ended on Broadway. What's new? Because I was rear-ended, I knew the other person's insurance company (Progressive) would pick up the full bill so I chose Natal out of the list of nearby repair shops that work with Progressive. The reviews here were a little sketchy, but they seemed to have really good marks on Google Maps so I figured I'd just show up and see how I felt about the place. I wound up talking to one of the owners, "Little Al". He's a little rough, but he's a friendly guy. Real down to earth. Reminds me of one of my uncles actually. We chatted for a while and he went through the initial estimate I got from Progressive. We took a look at the vehicle together and he gave me a realistic time-frame for getting the repairs done. When everything was said and done, the bill was just under $3500 worth of damage, but when I showed up and looked at the car, you'd never know it was wrecked. The paint match is great, it looks like new, and everything works the way it's supposed to. What more can you ask for? They even got the car back to me two days earlier than they'd estimated. I felt like they got it all done pretty quick, especially since they had it over the 4th of July holiday weekend. The only thing that threw me a bit is that one of the guys working in the shop had tried to move my old bumper stickers from the bent and dented lift-gate to the new one they painted and installed. It didn't take as well as they probably hoped and I went ahead and just pulled them off. "A" for effort though. I went back a few weeks later to get my Safety and Emissions testing done. I wish I'd realized it was expiring. I could have saved myself a trip if I'd had them do that while they had the car. That being said, I showed up at 8:25 and about 20 minutes later I was driving down the road. The service was fast. The mechanics apparently don't like EDM, though. They turned the radio off. I stopped in today and asked Al to take a look at my seatbelt that was caught behind the headrest on my back captain seat. He immediately came out, took a look, and handled it no less than 10 minutes and didnt charge me full labor. This was my second time there (first time was to have my new car inspected). Both times they were fast, friendly, and fairly priced. I would go back when necessary. read more

When dealing with Al, he was a true professional. He fully explained the type of work that would be needed and gave me options. So I went today for second time to get an inspection and wheel alignment so he gave me a price so I noticed my back tires were better to be put on front so I wanted to rotate them he tried to charge me 40.00 + for rotate my tires I think that was unfair..very disappointed so I said no just inspection only and he refuse cuz of the 40.00 I think that was unfair wasted my time.. never again just becareful when you doing any job..... read more

With my vehicles, I've always had terrible experiences when going to my dealership for maintenance or repairs (rudeness, careless work, extremely long waits). Natal is the truth. Since moving up here, I've entrusted them with every vehicle I've owned (Bonneville, Benz, Elantra, and now CRV), and they always do a bang-up job. I never doubt the car will be in good hands, and for a cynical NY-er like me, doubt is something I rarely find myself lacking. Trust is everything to me; I trust these dudes 100%. Both guys behind the counter are like-able, too. Look...You don't go in there for talk therapy. This isn't lunch with the ladies. This is an auto mechanic. They're the real deal, a solid bunch a bona fide NY grease monkeys, and I love 'em for that. So do a lot of other people--they've been in business successfully since the late 70s, way before Yelp, and they've got a wall of hand-written letters testifying to jobs well done. Plus, they're active in the community, too. You're not gonna find a better place to bring your car. Sorry. I've tried. Been ripped off. These guys lay it all out on the line, let you know what will cost what, what's necessary, what isn't, and they always try to save you some coin. I Had a bad accident in which I was rear ended. My car needed ALOT of work. They fixed my 2016 Nissan Rogue in a timely manner and always kept me updated every step of the way. My car looks like new! I would highly recommend them! Shortly after I got my car back I had a bit of damage caused to my car from a hit and run and they fixed my car for a very reasonable price. Unprofessional, rude and disgusting. The old guy that works the counter is completely useless. I went there because I wanted to get my rotors and brake pads replaced. I had the parts with me, all I had to do was pay for labor. I would've done it myself but it's freezing out and I wanted to support a local business. The old man gives me a lecture about brake pads and gives me attitude for NO REASON!! Then he tells me it'll take a couple of hours. They have 3 bays in their facility, I peeked in and only 1 bay was occupied with a vehicle. Thanks, but no thanks. It's a shame, if they had someone there with a little personality, they would do well. As long as that geezer is there, they won't be seeing my money. read more

Ive been using Natal for over 20 years. If you want your car fixed correctly by a team who stands behind their work this is the place. I brought my 1996 buick park avenue in for a tune up before a long trip to Florida. 31 mpg in a full size car is what i experienced. Every time ive used Natal i have been more than happy with the work done and if there was ever any type of problem it was handled professionaly. Want shitty work done or looking for deal? I recently went to get my White 2011 Audi repaired after a truck took my back fender and bumper with it. These guys did a phenomenal job! The car looks like new!! Perfect paint job! I almost shed a tear when I saw it all fixed. I read some of the negative reviews left here and gotta say that my experience was great! They were cordial, kept in touch with me every couple of days to keep me updated on my car's progress. Definitely will recommend them to my friends and family. I came to this place because it is very close to where I live and I wanted to find a trustworthy mechanic that convenient to where I live . I knew the price of part and approximate cost of this job for my car , I've done this many times . I was charged TRIPLE for the parts and DOUBLE for the labor . This place is unreasonably expensive and heartless to its customers. I have been a customer of Natal Auto Repair for over 20 years. They have always been straight with me in diagnosing and solving the many problems involved in keeping an older car running. They really know what they are doing and just tell it like it is. Some people interpret that as being rude but they are probably not New Yorkers. I prefer the straight talk to some other shops I have been to that find ways to pad the bill. Recently my "Check Engine" light came on and Natal Auto Repair was my first and only stop. They were very busy so I had to leave the car with them but the problem was diagnosed and solved by early afternoon for a very reasonable price. read more

I am an extremely understandable person. I take into account when a company is busy, parts do not come in on time, paperwork issues, etc. However, when money is being paid for services, I cannot accept incompetent work. This location kept my car for 3 weeks for a weeks worth of repair. Understood. I go to pick my car up and do a thorough inspection of the vehicle. The owner is on my heels as I inspect my car. I find numerous things wrong. With an -- total I expect a certain level of work and professionalism. Overcharges extremely. They are ripping insurance off and hardworking people. One owner (Allan, gray haired) has zero professionalism. I asked that the car be fixed further, he huffed and attempted to belittle my concerns. The external work makes me cringe at the thought of how the internal work looks. Won't be utilizing their services again. I would not recommend it either. They must have changed their people (or perhaps they are making money now and don't need the business), but I was having trouble with my car overheating. They said they could fix it and have it back for me that day, but they couldn't do it, but if I left the car, they could do it by Monday. Well, Monday became Tuesday and they finally said it was done. I picked it up - and guess what? It still wasn't fixed. When I called the next day - the man who handles the phones screamed at me and hung up the phone! I took it to another repair shop in my home town and it was fixed in two days - and the only reason it took that long was because they had a problem locating a part. Let's start off as I was directed to this place by default because of how close it was to me. Auto Body Repair was done however upon reassembly of my vehicle they left parts misaligned, interior switches not working and sound system shorted out.
