Whether you're looking to kick or toss a ball on the field, get some steps in on a trail, do some fishing, or let your kids run around on a sizable playground you can do it here. Most notably, it's free for everyone to visit! The main star of the show here are the 4 turf fields that offer hundreds of yards of space to play sports on. It's not hard to miss just how nicely done it is also. Being mainly for soccer, there's nets of all sizes to utilize. I'd think a complex like this would be only available to teams but it's awesome to see it's treated like the other sports complexes in the area. If running around on a field isn't your thing there's also a paved trail that gives you a nice view of the lake & wetlands area. While it isn't a big trail, I always appreciate things that promote exercising & being around nature. Want to hang outside without burning in the sun? There's also pavilions that offer plenty of shade with tables to sit at underneath. There's multiple water fountains, a concessions stand & vending machine at the center. Parking isn't an issue as there's a massive lot out front, they've done it all right here. I'm glad this complex is right down the road because I've made it a regular spot of mine. I have nothing but good things to say & suggest you stopping by if you're in the area.

I enjoy the early morning stroller walks with my granddaughter because during the weekdays there is no charge to enter and park to walk the trails. There is a very nice indoor/outdoor pavilion that is often rented for special events. There are multiple area for both child play under a covered playground and a covered area for adults to use the manual workout machines. The wide open space is great for horses to get a nice ride and to rinse off at the watering areas. The lakes and streams are filled with wild life that is indigenous to the area. Just taking a walk and listening to the sounds of nature is truly calming. On the weekends this county park gets very loud and crowded but because the park is so massive, there is always a place to relax.

As a spooky girl, the Banyan tree captured my fancy. It's stood tall and majestic with its hanging vines forming a shelter like structure. At the time of my visit, there were a few ladies sitting under it getting ready for a drumming circle. We watched for a bit before moving on. The park has loop trails. It's easy to follow via the trails app. It's a great place for hikes, long walks or for just taking a break from people. The kids would love it here as well. We walked past a few play grounds and biking trails. I plan on taking the kids back soon for some fun. 10/10 as far as parks are concerned.

According to a memorial plaque in the park, it was named in honor of Ellie Kozak, one of the first residents of the neighborhood, dating back to 1981. She lived adjacent to the park and helped found the homeowners association, where she served as president and promoted community events at the park. Sadly, she passed away from breast cancer in 2021. At only half an acre, this park still has so much to offer the community. In 2025, the playground equipment was upgraded, and I noticed they even included a swing that can be used by children with disabilities. There is also new outdoor fitness equipment, which I enjoyed trying out, along with a paved pathway that winds through the park for bike rides and exercise. The park also features a Little Library stocked with free books, a large open space for play, a picnic table, and benches. I really enjoyed my visit to this lively and welcoming park. It is open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Unfortunately at the time of my book discovery, I didn't have any books to donate. So I took the books and came back during the same week to drop off some books in return. Now I usually have books in my car to donate in situations like this. Haha. Ellie Kozak Park is located in Cooper City in a nice little neighborhood by Pioneer Middle School and Cooper City High School. They have designated exercise equipment under a tent, park benches/tables and a cute playground area with swings. It's a nice and quiet park in a nice neighborhood for kids to run around.
