Horrible process for adoption..Nothing like the previous owner.They never ever answer the phone nor return calls . Twice they gave away pup dogs i had choosen.Would NOT recommend this place..Seems very unorganized and they ignore people's calls messages and adopt dogs to other people read more

I have volunteered here for a few months waking dogs and love it. So good for the dogs and really makes my whole day every time I get the chance. There should be a disclaimer that if you volunteer to walk, you WILL want to adopt at least one of the dogs. read more

This is a no kill dog shelter in the middle of Lafayette, IN. They are all volunteer based, and readily accept surrendered and abandoned dogs. They are set apart by their friendly and knowledgeable staff- the people here really want to help the animals and make sure they go to good (and appropriate) homes. They really take the time to get to know each dog, which means that you can truly trust that the dog you adopt from here will be best suited to adapt to your environment. I find that a lot of shelters here in town neglect to take the time to see a personality in their animals (shy/energetic, dog/cat friendly, good/ bad with kids, etc.), but here they go above and beyond, which is the best scenario for the dogs. Been trying to contact them to donate a DRYER but no one ever answers the phone. Tried 19 times this evening, to bad maybe that's why their donations are low. On the up side we got out dog from them 6 1/2 hrs and couldn't be happier with that process.... read more

this place is not friendly and had an attitude not recommended . they only want to help if your dog has been fixed

I have been in Natalie's one time and I will never return. The dogs are pinned up in tiny little cages. Upon questioning the conditions of this so-called "shelter" I was berated by Natalie herself. Very rude and definitely not a place I would recommend doing business with. read more

Natalie has been working for the last 7 years to maintain this no-kill facility. They are a non-profit organization that does great work. Natalie genuinely cares about these pets and all her effort shows. Wonderful place to look for a pet. read more

I picked a dog out and brought my 14 year old in to meet him. She instantly wanted a big dog that was full of mange and under medical care due to his bad health. So she preceded to act like a teenager and said that the dog my husband and myself picked out that he was ugly and I didnt want him I want this other dog I said no. I filled out the app and they had all of my personal information. I told them that I would be there in the next afternoon to get him. After going home she became excited and brought her favorite blanket to take him home because she didn't want him to get cold. When we walked in and said we were there to get the dog she so rudely said no it has nothing to do with you it has to do with her and preceded to point to my daughter and tell her that it was her fault because she said he was ugly and she didn't want hm. My 14 yearold started crying begging them saying she was just in a bad mood and wanted the other dog but she wanted him. She then began verbally abusing my daughter nd she was bawling at this point so I sent her to the car to protect my daughter. She said hey we love chuckie we think your unfit. I left at that point to protect my daughter who was hysterical at this point as well as myself. They say they love the dogs but they sit in filth, tiny dirty cages. but that's a better palce for them. Also they think its ok to belittle a child in front of everyone??? I recently adopted a dog from Natalie's. I was so impressed with the love and care shown to these animals. There is a group of people who come several times daily to walk the dogs. The dogs have a relationship with these people and it just shows the amount of love shown to the animals in this place. Please keep up the good work. read more

I have been a volunteer at Natalies Second Chance for the past 2 months and will continue to volunteer for a long time to come. This is a wonderful establishment, the fur-babies are well taken care of and each one of them are given cuddles daily. For anyone who has written a negative review on this establishment, I would suggest you stop by to walk the dogs and spend some time with them (see website for hours). Walkers are always needed, especially during the morning hours. Yes, the kennels are small; however, there IS a playroom/office, and Saundra loves to have 4-legged company while dealing with daily business. Many of these dogs are older dogs, some with issues (blindness, loss of hearing, heart condition, etc), which their owners have surrendered. That sure beats the alternative! All of these babies are loved at this shelter. They do NOT go hungry, they do NOT stay in dirty cages, and the are NOT neglected in any way. Do yourself a favor and volunteer today!!!! read more
