I had been putting off getting my ring repaired for months after a gemstone fell out because I could not decide where to take it and did not know anything about the repair process. I searched for reviews of jewelers in the Milford area and could not find any conclusive results. I somewhat arbitrarily decided to call Nathans', and I am so glad I did! I explained the problem on the phone and the man who answered (presumably the owner) told me that they could definitely fix it, but warned me that it could take a few weeks. I immediately appreciated his honesty and brought my ring there within the hour. The woman at the counter was extremely friendly and helpful, making me feel comfortable right away. She helped me figure out my ring size (the ring had been slightly loose) and told me that it would be a good idea to have it sized while the stone was being replaced since they needed to keep it for a few weeks anyway. She let me know that it would take about two weeks and offered to call me with a price estimate. A week later, I got a call stating an extremely reasonable price, and a week later, I got a call saying it was ready. When I went to pick it up, it looked perfect. I could not even tell which of the stones was new. If you are looking for a jeweler in the area, I strongly recommend Nathans'. I am writing my first review on Yelp because of the excellent service I received at Nathans' Jewelers. Last week, I brought a Seiko in for service as the clasp was not functioning properly. The owner looked at the watch and told me that he would get back to me in a couple of days. Today, I received a call from the store indicating that the clasp was fixed - no charge. Suffice to say I will be returning to Nathans' in the future. I suppose that it is noteworthy that Nathans' was the only jeweler who could diagnose and fix my watch - I had been to three others before discovering this great store. read more

Stay away! I brought 3 watches to Nathan's for a simple battery change. 2 of the 3 were replaced easily. On the 3rd watch, the backing was not replaced properly and it kept falling off. I brought it back for him to fix it since it seemed the back was just not fitting. Instead of fixing it graciously, the jeweler grumbled and fiddled with it for a while, then insulted me by saying it was a cheap watch. This happened to be a very nice gold watch. I took it somewhere else where it was fixed easily by a more skilled and professional jeweler. If he can't replace the back of a watch, I wouldn't trust him with anything precious. He was quite rude. Didn't anyone tell him he shouldn't insult his customers? I will never be back. read more

Took my wife's platinum ring to several Jewelers to have diamonds replaced and have it sized... The jeweler at Nathans' was without a doubt the most skilled craftsmen I have ever seen... Recently moved from New York and I'm used to dealing with very high-quality Jewelers... This guys the best !!!! P.S. hoping to see the girls in short skirts... I have been living in the Milford area for fifty plus years. I recently had a problem with my wedding ring. I had used bleach with it on and I didn't realize that this is a super no no. I have not had a lot of experience with jewelers and Nathan's Jewelers came highly recommended. I decided to give them a try. My husband and I met with Bill. He explained exactly what I had done with my ring, bleach. He explained my options.. I could replace just the center prong, or go for the exact same setting ring. We chose the same new ring setting. We picked up the ring today and I could not believe how beautiful my ring came out. I am so happy with it. Nathan's did not disappoint. They did a wonderful job. I was told that I can stop in anytime to have the prongs checked and for a cleaning at no charge. It works for me. Thank you Bill and Nathan! read more

I have been going to Nathans Jewelers since 2001, This place is a Gem! I drive all the way from West Warwick, RI just to get my Jewlery cleaned by them. There prices are always more than fair and there always honest with me about repairs on what can and can not be done. I won't go anywhere else for any of my Jewlery needs because I have never found a jeweler I could trust until I went to Nathans. Its a small shop and there is always the same people in there. There work on the jewelry is flawless! Trust me i have OCD and if there was something I didn't like i would have no problem posting it! They take pride in there work! Theres a sweet little lady in there who is always a blessing to talk to and there is another woman who works there who is just as incredible, she even went ahead one time and texted me pictures of the stones I could put in the ring I needed fixed with her personal phone! My family have always been loyal customers and in turn have recommended Nathan's to others. I have to say that both my family and myself have frequented less and less over the years for a number of reasons all related to customer service. Nathan has always been friendly and professional but his staff of service girls is less than sub-par. They are not friendly or professional. The attire on the staff is very inappropriate (half shirts, shortest skirts they can find, etc.) If I need to have repairs or jewelry I go on very RARE occasions and only ask for Nathan (and be prepared to wait because he is the only one capable...he basically has to work by himself even though the sales "girls" are there). It has caused me unfortunately to have to find another family jeweler however on most occasions for the fact of how uncomfortable his staff makes you feel (I am not the only one who has commented about the change in the "atmosphere"). It is so unfortunate as the times of good family jewelers are rare, hopefully he will make some positive changes and soon or the only repeat clientele that will be patronizing his business are the ones as undesirable as his staff. read more

I happened across this small shop years ago when I had a a bridal set I wanted the diamond removed from the engagement ring and the 2 rings made into one wedding band. I had already been to another jeweler who claimed to do custom work, and was told it couldn't be done. I went to Nathan's, and Bill immediately knew what to do and pulled out his catalogs to look for the pieces he would need to do the job. I was very pleased with the result. I have been there for other repairs and they are quickly done to to my satisfaction. Since then, my husbands buys ALL my jewelery from Nathan. He and his staff have always gone out of their way to find what I want. On one item, it wasn't exactly what I wanted and they immediately took it back and ordered me something different. Like another reviewer said, the young lady that works there took pictures of items on my "wish list" so my husband can buy things for me from time to time as a surprise. Nathan is fair in his prices. I dare you to find the same quality for less somewhere else! Never shopping at those big name brands again! read more
