BEWARE !! Brought my car for an inspection. They placed an R or reject sticker and said thr suspension arm was loose and needed to be replaced. They quoted me for 450 dollars. I am a mechanical engineer and I work on my own cars and I knew there was nothing wrong with the car.so I brought my car to another inspection station and the car passed inspection. Dishonest. I really wanted to like this shop as it is convenient and their mechanics seems to know what they are doing. The front person quoted me a price of tire rotation of $30, which is straightforward but then charged me $50 when he rang me up. I couldn't see the the receipt until after I paid and then I addressed the discrepancy. He said "I don't know" and looked away. Since the amount was only a $20 difference, I didn't escalate further and paid the higher cost. This experience left me wondering what additional dishonest practices could happen here. read more

I just HAVE to post this, so I got into my first car accident right infront of their store yesterday (nothing serious) and the employees came right out and the second they found out what happened they were extremely polite, extremely respectful and extremely reassuring. And explained the procedures and what to do next after a car accident, as mentioned before that this was my first car accident and I didn't know what to do. Great Auto repair experience!! I began using the newly managed Natick Gas and Service Station a year ago when they solved a difficult problem with my SUV and fixed it. Fast forward to yesterday. I brought my 2020 Mercedes into the Mercedes dealer in Sudbury for the annual service. For starters they charged me $1000 just to go through the checklist. So ok with that, but then they recommended I replace my 35K spark plugs for $750, Change my engine filter for $250, Change my battery for $600 and then a rear brake job for $2000.00. The directive said all the above needed to be changed at 50K miles or 5 years. Well, I have 35K miles and plugs don't degrade if the car doesn't get allot of use. Who ever heard of 50K or 5 years for anything Simon and Sonny had their team inspect my car, access the MB maintenance specs, inspected the brakes and the battery and came to the conclusion that nothing needed to be done at this time. This Auto repair shop is honest and can be trusted just like the former owner of his second shop in downtown Natick. They saved me $3500.00. i went in for a slow leak in one of my tire. i saw them pull the car in and bring it out in few minutes and said i am all set. they charged me $35. i asked what was wrong, at first he was hesitant to respond then he said oh there was a nail. unfortunately the slow leak is still persistent which means they did nothing to the tire and just charged me for the same. i would not trust them with any further repairs on my vehicles. i took the tire to another location they removed the tire from the rim and there was not a single repair showing there. in fact it had a tiny nail. it proves that they did nothing and just charged me $35. in other words i would call them cheaters and very dishonest people. be careful guys when you use their service. read more

Went in for inspection, needed new tires, was told needed new tie rods as well, picked up car and now tires hit inside of my wheel well when I make a sharp turn. We have tried to get this worked out with Sonny but told we need new rack and pinion, which is not what is causing the problem. Sonny cannot give us a reasonable answer to any of our questions. I've been buying gas there once in a while and they have good prices and good service. Today I went in there and needed a potential new car inspected with no notice, and they accommodated me. The mechanic who look at the car was fantastic, he pointed out a bunch of minor and major things, and allowed me to take pictures, he really saved my butt. My inspection sticker was coming up right as I put my car into the shop this week for service at the dealer; thanks to some supply chain delays I didn't get it back until a day before the end of the month. My local (Waltham) place for inspection is OK if you catch them in the middle of the month but it jams up quick at the end/beginning of the month; they only inspect until noon and they have no parking open ever so you have to wait in a line of cars idling on the sidewalk until a spot in the bay opens. This didn't work with my situation so I checked around for a place that had more forgiving hours. Natick Gas Auto Repair was open until 5 PM for inspections and said to come on down. Even though I had to park a car in (which they said was OK), I was able to drop the car off, walk over to the Dunkin next door, drink some coffee, and then right about as I was finishing, I saw them pulling the car out of their bay, maybe 15-20 minutes total, and I wasn't first in line. These guys made my local place look like a bunch of clowns. If I can accept driving three towns over for an inspection, I'll be back here in a heartbeat. read more

On last Sunday. April 30, 2023, my wife and I were returning from Boston, Ma. after visiting my so. We stopped at the first service area on Mass Tpk after leaving Boston to get coffee and also gas. I filled up the gas tank of my Chevy High Top conversion van and then the van won't start. We had to arrange to have the van towed and the tow driver recommended the van to be towed to Firestone Auto Service in Natick, Ma. Since it was late Sunday evening, the place was closed. We stayed at the Hilton next door. Next morning on Monday, May 1, 2023, Firestone technician could not figure out the real issue after 4 hours. Even if they couldn't find the real issue, they told me the problem see to be with fuel pump. The estimate cost to replace fuel pump will be over $1,600. I told them to stop working on my van and found Natick Gas and Auto on Google. I called Natick Gas and Auto repair and talked to the owner Mr. Simon. He asked me to have the van towed to their place. Mr. Simon and technician were able to figure out the real issues with the van - was to replace the bad fuel pump and the repair the wiring connections. Mr. Simon is not only extremely knowledgeable about car repairs, but very friendly and honest person. He continuously communicated with me and got the fuel pump replaced and wiring repaired and got me back on the road. The new fuel pump was $437 and the labor charge of $400 - plus wiring harness of $80 - total cost $ 917 compared to an estimate of between $1,600 to $2,000 at Firestone. But it's under new management, it's close, and I needed a new inspection sticker. So I thought I'd check it out. I pulled up and they saw me immediately. The waiting room is two plastic chairs, and it smells dreadfully of cigarette smoke. I was only there for about 10 mins, so it wasn't really a problem. Be careful about potential traps if you go there! I went there for state inspection sticker, they told me my brake pad has almost nothing there, they can replace it for 300+. I feel strange as I have the brake pad inspected just month ago when doing oil change. I didn't change the brake pad as I don't feel they were honest. Later I went to a dealer for brake pad inspection, and they told me I still have a long time to go for the brake pad. I fell what??? the Natick gas guy could do business through lies? I knew I was overdue for an oil change so was excited to see that Natick Oil claimed online that they were open until 8pm. "Perfect, I'll go after work" I thought. So I rolled in around 5:30pm and sure enough, they were open! I walked up and asked for an oil change. The guy behind the desk called back to his staff and asked, "Guys, feel doing an oil change?" They said no! "It's after 5," the guy at the desk said, "so have a good evening" (essentially telling me to beat it). I took my car here for an inspection sticker in November 2014. I got a rejection sticker, and the man working told me it was because I needed to replace my catalytic converter. He said that it would cost about $1000.00 there, but anywhere else it would be closer to $1,400.00. I took my car to the mechanic that my family always uses and told him what I needed. He called me 15 minutes later to tell me that my car was ready- there was nothing at all wrong with my catalytic converter, and all that was wrong was a tiny whole in my exhaust that he was able to fix. That fix cost $80. Not only that, but Natick Gas had given me a red rejection sticker (I didn't know there were even different colored rejection stickers). Red means that you should not be driving the car at all because it's a safety hazard, and, even if my catalytic converter needed to be replaced, that is NOT a safety hazard. I do not recommend giving this place any business at all, they are very dishonest. They saw me, a woman who doesn't know much about cars at all, and tried to take advantage. read more

I find that Yelp reviews are hit or miss but in looking for a place to get an oil change and inspection this was the best reviewed shop nearby so I decided to give it a chance. Well, I'm writing this review from the shop because from start to finish this has been an incredibly great experience for what usually can be a hassle or inconvenience. I found out I also needed my breaks replaced, not because I was told or coerced but because they invited me to see for myself. They then invited me to call my dealership to see how much they would charge and the dealer was $300 more. This place also threw in a 1 year warranty for my breaks. Bottom line is it's great to find a shop that doesn't hustle you, do a bait & switch or try to up-sell you. So overall I'm so darned please with this experience that I had to take the time to write this before leaving.
