I decided to give this place a chance and it was not good not bad.. Here are some of the things that I noticed during my usual 6 month oil change drive-thru experience. - There were around 4 drive-thru lanes but they were NOT managed well. Even car wash, gas stations etc. manage their lanes properly. Is that so difficult? Here, you basically just go to any lane and wait behind the next car. No direction, no guidance, no signs. If they have a vacant spot in another lane and a new cars enters their lot, it goes into the vacant lane and you are basically just sitting behind another car and waiting for your turn. Is this fair? - Once you get in, the next steps are quite easy and fast. You don't get out of the car. The technician asks some questions, fills in some details and does his work. I just went there for oil change but he inspected and asked me to replace the filter. I asked for the price and decided to go ahead with it. So, it was a mixed experience but I don't think I will go here again. But, if you want to try out a drive-thru oil change, no harm in getting the experience. read more

Had an hour to kill, and he didn't know oil change, so I checked out Jiffy Lube. Two stars! I knew they sucked, so I was going to blow it off, but somehow yelp malfunctioned and Valvoline popped up 3 1/2 stars! I decided to take a chance. Immediately, I got a good feeling about these guys, they don't have a waiting room, or a bench even to sit on, but that's because they are fast and they want you to stay in the car. I actually have them rotate my tires as well, you to chase after me to get my wheel locks as I was taking a walk, can you stop at nothing to please you. I waited in the parking lot for my turn. They only had one customer, on a weekday afternoon. I waited 20 minutes with the garage doors closed. Then someone else rolled in, went around me right up to the door as if she had an appointment, at which time employee's cam streaming out of what I can only guess was a break room, to roll her in ahead of me. $90 for an oil change!? Ugh! Why! I happened to go on a kinda busy day. I was first in line but they kept moving me to different bays. Not a big deal, but I was first in and last to leave, not sure why it's taking so long (almost one hour). Had issues with oil leaking so returned to have them look at it. They said it was just spillage from when they changed it and kindly cleaned it up and also let me know there was another issue with something leaking. The receipt said they checked it so not sure why it was missed the first time. I'm paranoid maybe it took so long on initial visit cause something bad happened while they were changing the oil, sigh. Went in for standard oil change. Came out paying for the most expensive ($112) oil change I've ever had. More than even my dealership! Ouch! Several hours after the service my wife went to drive the car again and within a few minutes the oil light came on and cars computer said to turn off engine immediately. Only 2 miles from Valvoline she returned to complain. Valvoline mentioned that it was a bad filter and they would remedy. They sent her on the way after replacing filter and adding oil. Wife arrived home to explain incident and we noticed huge puddle of oil in driveway. I called Valvoline to complain and request that the incident be documented in case I have future engine issue. This is where the dishonesty begins. The incident report identified a filter issue and that they replaced one quart of oil. Since when does an engine oil light came on when only a quart down? It doesnt! When does the cars computer tell you to turn off engine when it is down a quart? It doesnt! Be honest Valvoline you screwed up and are doctoring the truth. I also asked the Manager Mark what I was supposed to do about the 2'x6' puddle of oil in the driveway? He said he would send someone over to clean it up. 24 hours later and they haven't shown up! If you want to trust your car to these incompetent and less than truthful people go right ahead....but remember you were warned! read more

I found a Groupon for a synthetic oil change for $45. I thought that was a great price, and I'm so glad I went to the Natick location! I did have to pay $24 extra when I was there because my car required more oil than the Groupon had covered, but the overall price was still significantly cheaper than paying full-price. All the guys there were amazingly friendly and professional. My hood had some trouble opening, so they fidgeted around with it and added some WD-40 for no extra cost. On top of the quick oil change, they also adjusted my tire pressure and filled my (completely empty) wiper fluid at no extra cost! I was extremely happy with the service and would have no problem recommending that location to anyone. read more

The mechanics at this location are super nice. I was really happy with my service at first. The reason why I could not give them a better rating was because of a small issue I had with the car after the oil change. After they were done, I was asked to turn on my car. I did. Suddenly smoke started coming out, which worried me. One of the mechanics told me that it happens sometimes and explained to me what was causing it and that it would stop soon. On the drive home, the car was still smoking, and it continued to do so for the next couple of days. I finally took it to the mechanic who always fixes my car, and he said that the issue was that the oil filter that had been installed was loose. Oil was leaking out, and burning on the exhaust. I wish they would have checked the oil filter before giving me that long explanation that turned out not to be the reason for the smoke at all. read more

I've used various valvoline and was in the area and needed an oil change. It was quick, which was great. But they forgot to top off my washer fluid, which I assumed they did. It's something they should be doing. Snow storm day before yesterday and I had no fluid for a long commute home. Had to stop and purchase during a storm and was pretty dangerous. I did call to let them know so hopefully they will keep in mind for future. But if you decide to sue them, you may want to make sure they go through their check list of what needs to be done. read more

I usually go to Framingham, but they sent me here because of some special oil my car needed. After the amazing service at Framingham, I was SO disappointed in natick. There was a lot of chatter in the garage and very loud but the kid working on my car was very soft spoken so it was difficult to hear him. He told me to take the key out of the ignition - of a car with a keyless start. They had a hard time getting into the oil area on me car (battery in the way), and did work diligently, but did not I form me what was going on so I had to ask for details. I've been using Valvoline for the past 10 years, and I absolutely love the convenience of this company. The natick location I've been attending the longest, and they have some of the best service in the Boston area. Rob is awesome and stayed an hour past his shift to fix a serpentine belt for me today... Life saver ! I should have listened to him when I got my oil change earlier in the day- but I tend to put stuff off. He explained why I absolutely needed it, and I ended up going back to get it done. What I love about this location is that they never try to rip you off.... They are 100% honest with you and what you need to do to your vehicle. BEWARE OF THE ADD-ON SERVICES / CHARGES!!! Although their service is quick and mostly thorough, they do suggest extra services that are outrageously overpriced! Their prices are on par with what dealerships charge for comparable services. My girlfriend went to get her oil changed, which went fine - she had a Groupon. However they also offered to replace her cabin air filter which was a SCAM of an add-on. A regular cabin air filter cost around $15 depending on where it's purchased, sales, etc. They charged her $40 for it! That is more than double!!! The filter takes 2 minutes to replace and Valvoline has their own brand filters which shouldn't cost them more than a few bucks. She was charged $40 for a regular filter that retails at most auto parts stores for around $15! That is insane! They lure people in with Groupon sales and then scam us with extra overpriced services! Just got my oil changed there today by Ashley and Connor. I was nervous because I had a groupon and often places where you use a groupon the experience can be different; however, they treated me no different. Oil change was relatively quick and painless. The groupon includes a full oil and filter change. As I have a specialty filter I knew it would have costed more, but Ashley showed me the filter, though a little dirty, could last me until the next oil change. This was nice as I didn't have to spend extra, unnecessary money. She also showed me the dip stick to show the oil level. Very nice touch that I haven't experienced before. If you have an older car Do NOT take it to them. My car was not overheating when i took it to them but the next day it was. They said oooh it must have been a bump. Ok can you tow it to somewhere for me they would not pay to have it towed to an actual repair shop that can help me. Just we dont care if it leaves here broken and its not hitting my numbers get stuffed is the feeling i got from the manager. I am stuck at work already had the car towed there, could ypu at least tow it to the repair shop?? No they would expect payment. Okkkk. Then take care of it , oh wait they can put the charge on a customer then thats what they will do.Nope nothing no accountability or even helpfulness to get me to someone who can help me or fix my car which was broken after dealing with these people. read more

Wish I could give them 0 stars. They used the wrong oil filter on my car and failed to install the required gasket. Just sheer luck I didn't lose the engine from the resulting oil leak, bill is about $550 so far to replace the parts they stripped/broke. It remains to be seen what the longer term effect of losing 4-1/2 quarts of oil will be. Any moron (even me!) can correctly change the oil in a car, I guess they don't employ just any morons. I go here occasionally strictly out of convenience due to its proximity to my work. Last couple of times employees were pretty friendly but I have had a complete a-hole there once too. Issues I had today: More expensive than I thought for an oil change. $100+ and that's with a 15% coupon. I've paid less for the same type of oil in a repair shop. Took much longer than I expected. People usually go during the work day so I'd expect a little more of a sense of urgency. Their computer broke so they scanned my card on another computer but didn't give me a receipt. Had to watch them try to do math in their head about how much oil still needed to be put in. Hopefully they did it right. Three people, three different cars, so each does some work on each car... how do they keep track of what's been done / what needs to be done?? I asked to get my tires pumped and they said they did but I didn't see them do it (unless they're ninjas or something, I didn't see anyone spend more than 5 seconds near my front tires). Don't think I got windshield fluid either. Some people were asked to turn on their blinkers, step on the breaks, etc, but not me. I know my blinkers are fine but it's just so INCONSISTENT, which is worrisome to me. Employee had trouble with the scanner and opening the oil tank and overall didn't convince me they knew what they were doing. As the result, I have ZERO confidence that what was done was done correctly. Will try to go elsewhere in the future. read more

I've been going here for a few years now and it's been hit or miss. One time I went back after an oil change because the car was dripping oil, and the service guy was totally on it, going under the car himself to see what was going on (oil had spilled onto the splashguard and not been removed, no big deal). There was not nearly this level of attentiveness during my most recent visit. It was a half hour before closing so maybe they were just ready to get out of there. For example, when the guy came to show me the dipstick afterwards to say the oil was clean and filled to the correct level, he'd already turned around and was walking away before I could tell him the dipstick in his hand was for the transmission fluid, not the oil. (I saw him check the correct dipstick himself after realizing his error.) If you go to their website you can print out a coupon for six dollars off. But when paying I was told that, because I was getting conventional oil and not synthetic, it was going to be only five dollars off. That seemed weird, but whatever, I wasn't going to argue with him over a dollar. Still, when I went the next day with another car to another Valvoline, this one in Newton, and another coupon, I noticed the whole six dollars got taken off the total even though I was only getting conventional oil that time too. The guys at the Newton location also checked the lights to see that they were working and took out the air filter to have a look. In the end, both places got the job done and both cars now have new oil and new oil filters. On the other hand, when it's time for the next oil change I will go to the Newton location. I'm not surprised a reviewer on here discovered the wrong oil filter had been installed. read more

I just had the best experience at Valvoline. I went in for an oil change and the guys let me know that they could also change my radiator fluid and transmission fluid because I am just below the 90,000 mile marker. I was going to get this done at the dealership but they told me it would be a bit cheaper here so I went for it. When all was said and done they gave me a discount for being a Natick labs employee, a coupon book for future visits, and a couple of tootsie pops for the road. Everything was done in 20 minutes tops and the guys were super friendly and worked together efficiently. The bill was $292 which really wasn't bad, especially because I didn't have to leave my car with the dealership all day. I'll definitely go back. read more

I went on my lunch break, it took about 15 minutes, and 5 of those minutes were because I was a new customer and they needed my info. Great service, super fast! I loved not having to get out of my car and sit in a dingy waiting area. Everyone was really friendly. Being a female, I usually feel like I'm being ripped off whenever I bring my car into the shop-- not here!!
