Buzz tries to find us reasonable pricing and Bobby is still fighting for our business. We want to leave. We want our card-paid down payment. Bobby responds with in 2days, a check will be issued then. He continues to tries dropping the price down to 17k. I let them know we aren't interested and will be back in 2days to pick up the check. He liked it and had they been honest with him he would have bought it right then. They told him that it was $35,000 then they worked it down to $29,000 with his trade in. My wife, who used to be a loan officer, booked it out at $22,000. When my son said that he wasn't going to buy the truck, they refused to give the keys to his trade in. The mechanic Gilbert was such a big help, super friendly, extremely knowledgeable and honestly the most stand up mechanic I have ever met! He helped me with my car and did not take advantage of me being a woman that doesn't know much about cars. He was respectful and actually taught me a little bit on what to look out for. I was appalled at the management within this dealership. I wanted to put a deposit on a car and come back 2 days later with a family member for the final negotiations. After test driving the car and being given a offer, I found out someone has put a $3,000 deposit down on the car, the documents are in their email awaiting signature, but if I put "pen to paper" first, it would be mine. So they took $3,000, assured that person it was theirs, but showed me the car and gave an offer to me on it. That offer was $3,000 "below list" "because he liked us so much" - that price of 27k is what's online and everywhere else. The paper said "no haggle price" and Devin pushed me to sign to "help him out." Complete sales tactics. The manager, JJ, explained the salesman, Devin, shouldn't have showed the car because the keys were on the management desk, however, that car is still online and I was given an offer on it. I walked out of there so frustrated and disappointed. Long story short - if you put a deposit on a car and even have documents out for signature, it apparently means nothing. This dealership took $3,000 from a person in another state, had documents drawn up and was ready to go with that person, but was perfectly fine to sell it to someone else. My experience started on October 2, when I traded my 2018 Kia Optima Hybrid EX for a used 2017 Hyundai Veloster. Within two days, I was back at the dealership with the Hyundai, as the windshield was barely secure, and the transmission slipped during highway merging. Showing considerable empathy, they traded me into another vehicle - a 2017 Honda Accord LX. However, the troubles continued to mount. The car wouldn't start on October 8, which was promptly 'fixed' by the dealership. Convinced by their swift action, I left a positive feedback on Google reviews. But the nightmare was far from over. The vehicle refused to start again on October 13 and then on October 25, it needed another starter which claimed to be new but was, in fact, a remanufactured one. Things took a devasting turn on a business trip to Elko, Nevada. On my way back home, the luckless vehicle stopped in Wendover on November 3, refusing to start again, leaving me stranded and costing me a crazy $500 for a tow truck back to Sandy, UT. Left with no option, I asked the dealership to let me walk away, but instead, they sold me another car - a 2018 Honda Civic. The tragedy didn't end as the check engine light blinked shortly after my initial drive. The car was diagnosed with an 'EVAP large leak', adding to my distress. Today, November 9, I am back here again at National Auto Plaza, begging to get my old Kia Optima back. The whole experience, marred by mechanical issues and the dealership's inability to provide reliable vehicles, has been expensive, time-consuming, and emotionally draining. They have chosen not to help me and when I expressed frustration about the experience they kicked me out of the dealership and now I have no car and no ride home. This company is the shadiest of shade. DO NOT GO ALONE. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AVOID THIS COMPANY. This company lied and stole my husband's car. Husband went in to see how much a car payment would be. And they tricked him into signing for a car he didn't want. He also traded in his car. And then kicked him out because they closed. My husband then threatened that he was going to get a lawyer, they told him to "do it and their lawyer is paid more than his". A couple of days later they contacted him again and said they would take the car back but he couldn't have his car back. So this time I went with him and told him not to sign anything we also looked up Utah's law about cars. IT IS ILLEGAL FOR A COMPANY TO STILL HAVE YOUR CAR AFTER 7 DAYS IF A CONTRACT HAS NOT BEEN FULLY SET UP. My husband's deal fell through so they wanted their car back and we wanted ours but they would not give it back to us. We went and we met this awful ugly ass man. He would not stop talking and spitting everywhere, his vein in his neck looked like it was about to explode. He claimed he had been "bending over backwards" to "help" my husband, that we signed a "power of attorney" to keep his car and that he "already sold it" (meanwhile we looked up the car and it was still on their website, so he is also a terrible lair). They needed him sign a restock fee and pay the mileage and pay off his car balance. He said if we do not sign it the amount will go to collections. (Which doesn't make sense because the title is still in my husband's name and the bank still owns it.) So we called the bank, bank told us that a sale isn't possible because the title is in my husband's name, and they (the bank) still own it and to call the police because IT SOUNDED ILLEGAL. We went to the police, unfortunately there is nothing they could do but they told to call the court. We went filed a report and my husband called the dealership and told them he was about to serve them papers and they crumbled under their week knees and gave us back our car. Wow you gave us back our car you lied and said you sold woahhh! Bad business practices these scummy bastards will pressure you like nobody's business. I wish there were negative stars on this!!! This place is horrible. (Besides Paul who was our salesman we worked with and he was great) Buyer beware. We went in looking for a car for my husband and they sat us there for 4 hours. Told us we were approved before we even went in but lied about that. They didn't even have the right social security number to know that. Finally got us approved through a bank of their choice with a high interest rate. They told us one price which we agreed to and signed contracts with us. When we went home we realized they charged us almost $1000 extra. We called around to another bank to see if they would approve us for the auto loan with a lower interest rate and low and behold they did. When we called NAP to tel them they said "interesting we tried that bank, we try every bank" ... BS! Once we informed them of over charging us it took hours to get a new contract sent over to us because "no one was in to sign it". Which made the loan process on our side difficult. We ended up sending the bank the contract with the higher amount and they told us that was fine - NAP would just cut us a check for the amount we over paid. So.. we bring in the check for roughly $900 over what we owed them. But again.. a manager wasn't in to "sign" the check so we needed to wait 5 days till one would be in. Stfu right. After waiting all weekend, we come in and what do you know.. THEY WONT CUT US THE CHECK. THEY TOOK IT AS THE DOWNPAYMENT WE WEREN'T EXPECTED TO PAY FOR ANOTHER 2 WEEKS!!!! We argued with the account lady named Serrelle who was so disrespectful. Told us that they're keeping 600$ of it even though it wasn't due for another two weeks because "some people never pay it" so once they have it they keep it and because "it's just the way business works." THAT WAS NOT THEIR MONEY! And we were told by several employees that it would be totally fine if we brought in the check for a higher price, they could easily cut it back to us. I AM PISSED. Something didn't feel right, I wanted someone else to look at and drive it with me and Bobby did not like that. I came back a third day, did my thing and decided to get the car. They had to pull some strings because of my situation. Cool. but at the end of the day they were basically asking me to commit fraud so that I would be approved. Well, one week in and there was something wrong. I took it to a mechanic and was told it needed a new RACK AND PINION, the engine was leaking oil (no big deal,) and it needed a new CV axel. When I went back I was told they made some but not all repairs. They replaced one CV axel, and left the other to leak. They were aware of the faulty rack and didn't want to fix it. They wanted more money to put down to upgrade my warranty but even then those repairs wouldn't be covered. The manager and "owner" said that the repairs needed would require replacing both the front and rear axels.... the rack has nothing to do with that. They tried to tell me that my mechanic lied and that it would take 16 hours to fix and it would be cheaper elsewhere. After all the shit they dragged me through I just gave it back. Yes, Paul tried to do the best he could. Yes, he was nice and was able to not charge me full price for the miles used. But I think they are all a bad bunch and probably have been fraudulently getting people into vehicles for their own gain whether financial or getting rid of a bunk cars hoping someone will be naive.
