My brother unexpectedly passed away. Called the number 855-469-9474 Gave them the vital statistics for the death certificate. Paid by credit card over the phone. They took care of everything, contacted the coroner, arranged for the cremation, gave us info on an urn, if we wanted to purchase one, and contacted us when it was time to pick up his ashes. When we went to pick up his ashes, we were led into a beautiful little office, there on a table surrounded with candles was the box that contains his ashes. It was very dignified, very respectful. Well, it's hard for me to rate this kind of a thing because I can't say I have anything to compare it to. This was my first time personally dealing with setting this kind of thing up, but I can say that everything was exactly as promised and I definitely felt the personal small business touch. Beyond signing up for the service, I almost exclusively dealt with the owner and I felt he did his best to provide a good experience under the circumstances. My understanding from the sales pitch was there are cheaper places, but they hit you with all kinds of additional charges and fees later on so the price they tell you isn't your walk-away. According to the person I spoke to, you get one price that comes with everything, and there's no hidden charges or fees besides a few small mandatory government charges totaling less than $40. I don't recall exactly what I paid, but it was somewhere around $2,400. It might be a little less but something close to that number. I have no way of judging wether that is a good price but I didn't feel ripped off. It was my understanding that one of the aspects that sets this place apart was the fact that they do their own cremations, instead of sending the body to a larger facility that takes bodies from multiple sources. The less times your loved one changed hands, the less likely you are to end up with someone else's Dad. I think the thing that really made it a "5-Star" experience in my case was what happened immediately after my dad passed. The hospice nurse told me they need to pick up the body immediately and I couldn't hold onto him. When she phoned the cremation service, which the owner picked up himself at night, and he told her I could keep my dad with me as long as I wanted and they would only pick him up when I was ready. That shut her up. It made all the difference for me. Unlike most of my restaurant reviews where I have some basis for judging how good this place is compared to others, this was my first time. However, I don't regret choosing this company and if I could do it over I would pick them again. read more

I'm coming up now on almost a month since my mom passed away. The night that she passed I spoke to my uncle and he referred me to NCS. I did some research and called. I was then connected with Holly where she explained the process and the terms thoroughly and made me feel like mine and my family's interests were taken to heart. This isn't an easy review to write nor one that I want to spend much time on given the circumstances and my feelings about it (still quite raw), but the funeral director, Randy, asked us several times to review him, so here it is. Plus, if it helps someone else during a tough time to be able to know what the expect, it's worth it, so I hope this review helps someone else. My mom passed away about 2 weeks ago. We knew it was coming and wanted to make arrangements ahead of time to ease the process, so I filled out an online request form for information and the next day I received a phone call from the pre-arrangement gentleman offering to come out and meet me at a location of my choice to make the arrangements. It was a simple process, despite the load of paperwork, and he was very helpful with a good demeanor. At the end of that meeting, he gave me some cards to give hospice care so that when my mom did pass, it was one phone call to them and it would be taken care of. The cost of everything was about $1800. The next day, I discovered that my mom had passed. I called the number on the card and they said they'd be out there within 1-2 hours for the body and that someone would call me the next morning to make the additional arrangements. I actually received a phone call later that afternoon from the funeral director, Randy, offering his condolences and inquiring as to what would be a good time for him to either call or set up an appointment the next day. We gave him a time for the next day and met him there. Again, the process was as simple as something like that can be. We were obviously not in a good place and made some mistakes with permit information, but Randy was very patient and continued to re-do the paperwork until we got it correct. He let us know that the cremation would most likely be 5-14 days away and that the death certificates could be additional time. He would call us when it was time to pick up the ashes. About 10 days later I received a call from Randy letting me know the remains were ready to pick up. I asked to pick them up that weekend and he said although they were closed Sat-Sun, he would be willing to meet me there Saturday morning if that worked best for me which it did. We met Sat. morning, signed the last few papers, and were on our way. He also had received the death certificates by that time which was, convenient, for lack of a better word. There's no good reason to go to somewhere like NCS. No matter what, it's a bad situation, but I felt comfortable with the service they provided me, and given the terrible circumstances, I would most likely use their services again. I felt Randy and his staff do the best they can in these situations and it's definitely not a job I could ever do. I was happy with the service given a terrible situation. Like many people, I avoid thinking about death. My family was recently demolished by the loss of a loved one. Hours after our loss, we had to face the facts and work on taking care of our beloved's body. Gayle Kirk, the Funeral Arranger from NCS instantly became our guide and gave us the options we needed and the courage to move forward with them. I assumed that by NOT planning for this, we would be bombarded with extra charges, confusing procedures, and unwelcome surprises. Gayle sensed that we were not big spenders and, with great dignity, sold us a cremation option that came to less than $2000. I know is possible to spend less than $1000, but Gayle's guidance was easily worth more than $1000 to us. Perhaps it is crass to put the dollar figures here. But I would have liked to have known this when I read reviews. I imagine that there are less expensive options offered by NCS. The main thing is that we never felt like we were being "up-sold." Riverside is lucky to have Ms. Kirk and her company's services. Her office felt like an oasis during a time of tears and confusion. I recommend National Cremation because they were there for me and my family when my fiancé passed away. My son in law pre planned for his fathers passing, he had stage4 colon cancer and we knew he did not have much time left. Randy at National Cremation is the best. He was there anytime of the day or night to answer any questions we had. Due to COVID the time it takes to get your loved one through the cremation process is longer than it would normally take. Randy was always keeping us up to date and informed of what was going on while we waited for a date for cremation. We had a witness cremation and it was difficult to see my fiancé again, but Randy was there with us and showed compassion and kindness! When my dad recently passed, I was sure glad we were referred here by my brother-in-law. At first I was skeptical not knowing what to expect but I knew I had to get ahead of it as my mom was obviously focusing on a plethora of other things.
