Looking at all the reviews people have made for NCS, I'd like to point out Randy Holland is mentioned in almost all of them and for good reason! I lost my father during the midst of the COVID-19 lockdowns and I was stuck in a different country on the other side of the world. Randy was my go to person for all things and with my mom so upset from the loss of her partner for 60 years, it was a comfort to have him on this side and to know he was there for our family. He immediately earned my confidence and respect. He took wonderful care of all of our needs and made this as smooth as possible. To be on the other side of the world, kept away from family is hard enough, I felt Randy became a member of the family and didn't just get us through this time, but comforted us to the point where we gently glided through this transition (to the extent possible). It is not that he is just a consummate professional, he texts, calls, and checks in on you because he cares. Yes, he will provide you with updates on the status of your loved one... but what he provides is so much more than that. He is a coordinator, a friend, a counselor, and he becomes an extended family member. I can not recommend him enough. If you want someone that will take care of you like family, you want NCS and you definitely want Randy. read more

I have to say that William (Randy) Holland from the Riverside, CA office is the man to take care of your loved ones services. When a family is mourning the loss of a loved one and someone like Randy steps in to take care of everything, it makes the process so much easier. My dad passed away in January 2021 amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. It was difficult enough losing my dad, but losing my dad during the pandemic was emotional for us just because of the back up of people waiting to be handled. Randy reached out to us when he knew we were hurting and he stayed in constant communication with us to let us know what was going on every step of the way. I can't even begin to tell you what this meant to us. As busy as Randy was during this period of time, he always answered my phone calls or text messages. I know the poor gentleman couldn't have been getting much sleep with the amount of people passing away from Covid-19. My dad was a Veteran. Randy also handled everything with the Riverside National Cemetery/Veteran's Administration to have my dad interred there. We didn't have to do anything. This is hard to write because I'm still grieving the loss of my Mom. She had passed on December 5th, 2018. My mom had no arrangements planned. We only knew she wanted to be cremated. I live 16hrs from her and my brother is in the army, in Kuwait right now. I was completely lost and didn't know what to do or where to even start. I was giving the number to contact Randy. Randy expressed his sincere condolences and walked me through the process. He was there every step of the way and didn't always just talk about my mom. We would talk about other things, which was comforting. He wasn't that creepy funeral director that only talked about death, which was nice. He would check up on me and see how I was doing if he didn't hear from me for a couple days. My life was completely upside down and talking to him would make everything feel better as much as it could. He is just the regular down to earth guy that really enjoys helping families in their most difficult time, as well as his community. On the evening of November fourth my Father, mentor and best friend passed away. Currently, I am stationed overseas. I went home to see my Dad in September where we discussed his wishes for when the time came. Randy and his team at National Cremation did more than just fulfill them. Even being thousands of miles away, Randy made me feel as if I were there right beside him, my Mother and Sister throughout the entire process in fulfilling my Dad's wishes. In a very difficult and emotional time of my life, Randy was both professional and compassionate. He accommodated me by meeting on Saturday, when their office is normally closed. He was also careful to explain everything to me in detail and making sure I understood the policy and procedure. One of the things I appreciated most was his transparency and honesty. He did not try to take advantage of my emotional state and up-sell me things I really did not need. He let me know that it could take between 10 to 15 days for the cremation and the spreading the ashes at sea to be completed, after which we would receive the certificate indicating when the ashes were spread. He handled the paperwork with the Social Security office and was available for anything else I needed. At what is an extremely stressful time for most people, Randy was truly a Godsend. read more

Unfortunately, this is the second time I have turned to National Cremation Service and Randy Holland for assistance in the last year. Remarkably, when I called Randy for the second death (my aunt) in my family, he remembered me and was very kind. He met me at the office when it was convenient for me, was very polite and helpful. As he did in the first instance (my mother), he called and checked on me in a few days. This is truly great service. I must also give kudos in another area. My aunt passed away on July 4th, a time when you would normally expect to wait for mortuary service. They arrived promptly and were very professional and helpful. You never want to have to call a mortuary but National Cremation in Riverside made as easy a process as one could hope for. William "Randy" Holland and staff are great! Randy literally heard from me on one of the worst days of my life. He was kind and took his time to make sure that I understood all that was involved. No hidden fees, double talk.They treated my brothers death with the respect it deserved. He kept me and my family up to date with every part of the process. On Memorial Day my step father passed away. As hard as it was to move foward with things that come after the loss, we decided to have National Cremation Service help with the cremation. They helped us from start finish with all the paperwork we needed to complete. We really only dealt with Randy Holland who was on point with everything. When I got the phone call that my mom had unexpectedly passed, it threw me into the biggest maelstrom of my life, one that I'm still trying to navigate. This service took care of everything for me, and did it with more empathy and respect than anyone can ask for. I can not recommend this service enough to those who require it.
