We DO NOT recommend National Floors Direct!!! We will never use them again. Our experience with them was just terrible!!! What the salesperson said would be done was not done. You must pay them in full using a money order, certified check, or cash upon arrival; otherwise, they will not proceed. They refused to remove the current tile floor in the master bath; they told us the new floors would be glued down; however, the new floors were floating floors!! Not what we asked for. The master bath could not be completed; however, they refused to reimburse us for not being able to complete the master bathroom, so we lost $ 1,700.00. They didn't even want to leave the materials we already paid for and were forced to pay for, stating they were taking them with them. National Floors Direct offered the lowest price to remove and install carpet in my basement space which is being rented. The initial salesperson was very pleasant an informative. He did say they only accept cashier check (more money on the customer), money order or cash. This practice alone gave me some pause but I continued forwarded. The install date was Friday May 29, 2026 with a window of all day (8 to 5pm). They never showed nor did I receive a phone call. When I contacted them, they said the material hadn't arrived and rescheduled for Tues. June 2. Three people arrived on Tuesday without a call but because I had forgotten about their practice and wrote a personal check they didn't accept the check and left. At this point, they said they would send someone on Thurs June 4 to pick up the cash again window would be 1 to 3. The tenant who was home (retired) did not receive anyone even though they said they came at 4pm. At this point, they said I would need to be there with cash for the remainder and rescheduled for Sat June 6. June 6 arrived and only one installer came whereas before three men showed up. This installer had a job in front of him... he had to remove heavy furniture (disassemble), remove and install carpet which he did. However he broke the bed frame, left after the installation and left the bed disassembled. After I called and complained to high heaven. He returned to assemble the bed. Couldn't fix the frame but they received their money in full. While the end product is good. I can't say enough bad things about this company. Lowest price isn't always best value/service. I know better as a contract specialist for the federal govt. Should've treated this like I'm on the job and pulled past performance and read the reviews. Please take heed..I would not recommend this company. 5/26/25 so i gave it time to fluff up as they tried to say ,guess what this is not fluffing National Floors!!! you are a disappointment and you do not care .You got your money did a bait and switch and could care less... Please note the following encounter with National floors direct. I placed an order for carpet as per a home visit with Kevin Beard on 4/2/25 at my home. a control panel was introduced with carpet panels, as per discussion with Kevin i chose from his beard a product next to the black carpet that was my choice because i thought the black carpet would be easily tarnished with traffic. This product he identified as a steel beam gray carpet which was the darkest of the carpet panels next to black. Kevin contacted his warehouse manager with measurements to assure it was in stock. Once this was given the yes, we have it but needed a deposit will call/hold the amount stated by the sales rep was initially $425.00usd. After the call to the warehouse the amount was changed to $800.00 USD. Once we agreed on the price, the carpet thickness as I was replacing a reasonably thick carpet due to fire damage through the insurance company. We were all set, and I produced the check on 4/2/25 which was cashed on 4/4/25. I placed a call to see how to set up the installation and was told i had to call sales this was on or about 5/1/25,once I called the number provided, I was told I needed to pay an additional $425.00usd as the order was a special order requiring additional funds. As I discussed with the rep, I paid the 33% requirement at the initial appointment to hold my product on will call. after several conversations back and forth I was given an install date of 5/8/25 with no additional fee. On delivery day my techs showed up, started removing the carpet in the house, removed the carpet from the van and started cutting as I looked out the door. The first thing I noticed is this is not the dark gray that I saw on the board display. I instantly got on the phone with customer service. explained this is not the product or the thickness of the product I picked. The product thickness delivered is about half the size of the carpet that is being replaced. It would make no sense to go from a thicker carpet to a thinner carpet that my insurance is paying to replace. this was to no avail as they simply stated well this is what the sales rep put in and he can't help or make changes. As I explained each prior call, I requested to have the sales rep contact me with no communication back from him. After several minutes of getting nowhere with the staff on the phone , I told the installers to just put it in to not delay them or cause them to miss their next job. At this point I am reading the contract and will be following up with the arbitration steps noted in the contract with https://www.adr.org/. Also, I will be filing with the BBB,Md consumer protection division and doing a google and yelp review on my experience overall with this company. This is a warning about National Floors Direct and their practices. On May 12, 2023, I had a sales guy from National Floors Direct, Dave Horning, come to my house and give me an estimate. I had a hallway, a closet and a laundry room that I needed laminate flooring installed in. Mr. Horning was very charismatic, as sales people are trained to be. The price was almost 'designed' for me and I handed him a deposit, with the remainder due on the day of the installation, planned for May 23, 2023. During the visit, I SPECIFICALLY asked about my washer and dryer being removed because I knew that I would not be able to do that. I was told by Mr. Horning that that would not be a problem for his guys. I also asked if they would be able to hook it back and I was told "Yes, why wouldn't they be able to do that?" With that, everything was signed and sealed. (On a side note, Mr. Horning left a document at my house which states that I waived my right to cancel. Not sure if it's still binding or not.) On May 19, 2023 (today), I receive that information about the install. Two things stood out. 1) I cannot give them a personal check. (The deposit was a personal check, though) I was going to have to be inconvenienced to get a money order. Ok. 2) All appliances have to be disconnected prior to installation. Had I known that at the time of the sale, I would have eliminated that room and had it done at another time OR had the flooring installed around it. I called customer service. There's nothing that they can do, they don't know why the sales person told me that, BLAH BLAH BLAH. He told me that because he wanted a SALE! We know why! If I want the laundry room eliminated, that's a change in scope, I won't get any refund because things have changed. They can send me a form to fill in and sign prior to my install. What they also do when they send you documents via email is not put the salesperson's email address. He attaches HIS name and YOUR email so you can't respond directly to the sales person. Ridiculous practices. I'm still going forward, but wanted to make my opinion heard. Tread lightly with this company. I also plan to write Aaron Rosenberg, the President of the company and file a complaint with the BBB, seeking some restitution. I'm making decisions based on faulty sales practices. read more

Had prefinished Wood floors installed in my Living Room, Dining Room and Hallway in September. instainstallation Crew was on time arriving. They worked all day, mostly non-stop. Did an excellent job installing my floors. Also, cleaned up afterwards. Price was reasonable. However, the quality of the material was not high quality. I guess, as the old Saying goes, "you get what you pay for"..... I'm considering using NATIONAL FLOORS DIRECT again later next year to install some type of Flooring in my Kitchen and Laundry Room. read more

I implore you to not use this company. Not only are they untrustworthy, they are a fraud (google lawsuits against National Floors Direct -NFD). Once you write a check to them, you are bound to them. They will not offer refunds and demand installers receive payment (cashier's check, money order) before installation. They also only take checks/cash for down payments. I have counted and documented at least SEVEN lies I have been told by this company from the salesperson all the way to installation/customer service. I was NOT told during the sales presentation that the carpet we wanted was discontinued (1st lie) so one day before the scheduled installation, I received a call from National Floors Direct stating they had been trying to call me for three days (3rd lie)! I checked my call log and the last call was from the customer service rep confirming installation for the original installation date. NFD called me confirming installation four days before (2nd lie) and never told me the carpet was discontinued (part of the 1st lie). I tried to leave a review on their website to no avail (most reviews on their website are 5 star). I have tried emailing my sales rep to no avail. If you have to pay more money elsewhere, it is worth it. I still do not have my carpet installed and plan on contacting my state's consumer affairs division to see how I can proceed. read more

What could they improve? HONESTY. Their sales person did not inform us of pertinent information regarding cancellation and they refuse to return my deposit. We called the company and the "manager" said we only had 5 days to cancel and there was a restocking fee attached. Our installation date was May 22nd. The sales representative Christopher and the installers were great. I didn't like the FO staff as you have to jump through so many obstacles to get carpet installed. First, they dont accept any credit card or bank card purchases. Then, they have you sign a waiver regarding cancelations. The last straw for me was when the installer came, they wanted the final payment BEFORE any work was done. This is ABSURD as you pay for services rendered, not before. I then tried to resolve this small matter with the FO, and the lady (didn't get her name) was truly rude and disrespectful. I am repeating what everyone else has said: DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! I first went to Home Depot, and their price was around $6900. I needed to put flooring in the first floor (including living room, dining room, foyer, kitchen, power room, coat closet, a tiny 2 foot pantry) and stairs leading to the second floor. Their price was around $6900. The person was strictly a person taking measurements, and not a salesperson. He took about 20-30 minutes in my house but only said that they would send me the estimate. Then I had NFD come and give me a consultation. I told the sales person that I didn't want a complete presentation about how great they are - just get to the colors and prices. Although the person had only been with the company for two months, he was personable, professional and answered all of my questions. He took around FOUR hours with me, and I was impressed. He did call his manager about 6-8 times, but it didn't bother me because I wanted answers. I signed the contract for $14,416, absolutely sure that I had found a company I could trust. Okay, now they got their money and I'm screwed - everything went wrong. I was the first job on Saturday morning (they had to pick up materials from the warehouse, so they would arrive at 11am-12pm. When I called to find out why they were late, I was told that the lead installer had a personal emergency and they had to find another lead installer for the crew, but they would be coming shortly. When they arrived at 3:07pm, I found out that they had just come from Baltimore and that there were delays at the warehouse. Not a problem. The installers worked incredibly well, but they did tell me that we needed plywood for the stairs because the "stair nose" sticks out 3/4 of an inch, and the tread (where you stand) would be moving. I sent pictures, called numerous times, left voice mails and also spoke to people who would "get right on it". I don't want to write a book here, but bottom line, after many conversations with Sales, Installations and Customer Service, they wanted $288 for additional plywood. Nope - I had my grandson do it for $50 for plywood. These people will ghost you, promise anything, and if you get a human, they are rude (except for the Sales people - of course!) Forget talking to Installation and Customer Service. When I am ready to do the second floor, I know exactly what to do. I must say that the installers were impeccably clean, friendly and very efficient. They did the ENTIRE job in a day and a half. I am happy with the flooring, but it wasn't worth dealing with the exhorbitant cost and completely unsatisfactory customer service that this company delivered. Between Saturday and Wednesday, I probably called the sales person, sales manager, installation department and customer service about 60 times. PLEASE BE CAREFUL. read more

After a really bad leak from our old refrigerator and a failed attempt to find replacement flooring for our old floating floor. We hired National Floors Direct. They came all the way from Baltimore MD for the initial contract evaluation and again for installing the new flooring in our kitchen and sun room. Our initial evaluation was done by Will. He was very friendly and professional. We deposited about half down with a 12 month no interest payment for the balance. As others have mentioned, we got our preparation emails too. As directed, we had everything ready prior to our installment date. Our installers were Carlos and Sandor. Per contract agreement, they quickly removed our old linoleum flooring and installed the new flooring. They were friendly and professional. Would we hire National Floors Direct again? Yes. read more

NATIONAL FLOORS DIRECT Two weeks ago, two absolutely wonderful young men spent 9 hours installing beautiful berber carpeting on our first floor and stairs. Additionally, the sales manager that came to my house with samples from which to choose was also outstanding and professional! I can not say enough good things about my experience with them. HOWEVER, the coloring of the carpet was wrong. The picture on the left is the color we ordered, which matches perfectly with the wood flooring on the middle floor and all of the cabinetry, granite, and other carpeting in the house. The color on the right (beige) is what was installed on our entire first floor and stairs. I had to pay $1,000 to repaint three of the bedrooms because the new carpeting and paint clashed so badly. I began to call National Flooring Direct once i realized the wrong color was being installed. I continued to call, text, and email National Floors Direct from the date of installation (July 29, 2024) until last night (August 7, 2024). In the beginning, I was advised to contact customer service representatives via texts or phone calls. I did just that every single day. I was repeatedly given false instructions regarding how to come to some sort of a resolution. The final call I made last night to a senior customer service representative consisted of him blaming me for not inspecting the carpet when it arrived. He went on to inform me that I was completely at fault and that National Floors Direct has no culpability. This is where he is mistaken. I've reviewed the lawsuits that people have won against National Floors Direct from like situations. I've decided to pursue one just for the fun of it because companies like National Floors Direct should not be in business. I've tried 3 times to leave an honest review on Google; 3 times I failed due to the National Floors Direct application not connecting to my Google or Facebook account. I wonder why! Bad workmanship, I had carpet installed in my townhome. The next day I noticed hardness in numerous areas. It felt like theres gap's between the padding. I called the company and was told to take pictures and emailed them. Well that's a waste of time because the issues are not visible it's felt as you walk around. We didn't actually use this company. Their sales practices were enough to turn us off. I haven't been subjected to such a hard sell since the last time I bought a car. The first price we were given was about double what other companies quoted us. We were then offered 15% off that price which was still about $3000 more than the others. We told the salesman we had seen enough and we would call him if we decided to go with their company and showed him the door. About 10 minutes later he was back knocking at our door with a "final offer" which he told us was "at cost" that was within a couple hundred dollars of the other bids we got. A horrible experience and a total waste of time. Although the person Mike, who came to give me a quote was very nice, the rules he had to follow were questionable business practices and they do not match pricing unless you have all the competitive offers in hand when they give you a quote. They should tell you this when you set up the appointment and I would have made them the last quote. They were the first carpet provider to give me a estimate and I was getting other quotes and would have all other quotes by Friday morning (today is Monday). They said they could not meet anyone else price because I didn't have any estimates yet in hand. They gave me an ultimatum price saying since I had no estimates yet, this is the price they would offer and unless I signed the offer today the price was no longer available. I will not accept high pressure sales and ultimatums. So I passed. An also questionable practice, they do not accept credit cards or personal checks. They accept CASH or CERTIFIED BANK CHECKS ONLY. HORRIBLE and WAY overpriced! Guy tried the hard sell with me preying on the lack of a 'significant other' there to help with the decision making. Had to ask several times for him to leave and then he came back to the door! Price was double that of two other estimates I received for the same exact floor and service level and he still kept trying to make me buy right then and there. I made arrangements to have them come and give me an estimate. For a rental property. I told them NUMEROUS TIMES I had to drive over an hour to the site . I called at the designated 1-3 allotted time and said I was there requesting an eta. Couldn't give me one but said all was well. I wish I would have checked the reviews prior to ordering my new floors. Because my floor is a little over a year old I have no warranty. I was told a 20 year warranty by the salesman that came to my house and sold me the beautiful floor. Of course they don't explain everything. The installation is only guaranteed for 90 days. So really you have no warranty. When I complained they gave me a courtesy one time but didn't address all of my concerns. I even said I wouldn't mind paying to repair the floor even though they should fix it. I objected to the lack of customer service and the woman on the phone kept repeating herself. So yes I did get upset and may be was a little less than cordial. They wanted to charge me to have someone come look at it. Even though I sent pictures twice. The installers should have made us aware that we might have a problem with the subfloor when the tore out the old one. Poor communication, Very rude customer service representative (Kim, she wouldn't give her last name when asked) My wife and I were remodeling our bathroom and wanted new floors. We contacted national floors direct and a sales rep Brian Simone came out. We already new the squared footage and style of floor we wanted. I also new that the subfloor needed to be replaced and advised that I wanted 3/4 in subfloor installed. I also advised Brian that I wanted the subfloor to be glued and screwed down to prevent any squeaks. Brian was very polite and assured us that all of our requests would be handled without issue. I also did advise Brian that we were a little apprehensive due to a poor prior experience with a competitor. He assured us that all would be handled properly within the time frame we requested. The day prior to the installation we began receiving emails about how to prep the area ( all furniture must ready to be moved ) and the final payment is due prior to any work starting. And additional fees if the installers had to wait or had to come back. And an adult must be at the residence all day during the installation Myself and my wife had the bathroom completely empty and ready for install. She planned to work from home on the day of the installation. The afternoon prior to the scheduled installation we received a call from customer service stating that they had to reschedule due to an unexpected break down. This was of course a inconvenience because of prior arrangements made to work from home and the timeline with other services for the bathroom, however we were understanding and made arrangements for myself to stay home in the AM. On the day of the installation. The installers arrived early and requested payment prior to any work. However the installers were completely oblivious of any subfloor install or removal as the contract indicated. The installer also didn't come with the 3/4 inch subfloor as requested. I then called customer service and spoke to a KIM ( as earlier she would not give her last name). This woman should not be in customer service at any company ever. I attempted to explain my situation and she immediately began talking over me, made uninformed statements then when I requested to please speak to a supervisor or manager she refused and stated " you are dealing with me" I advised her that i wanted to cancel because at this point I had no confidence in things proceeding as expected. She stated "you are going to lose your deposit and will be charged fees " I thought it pointless to bring up the point that empire failed to show up on the scheduled date, didn't come with the correct materials and I am going to be charged fees ?? I found this absolutely absurd. However I did allow the installer to goto the local home depot and pick up the subfloor. he returned with 5/8 subfloor which is not 3/4, didn't glue down as I requested. I have attempted to contact Brian the sales rep via email, no response, called customer service again spoke to a Mark whom was going to have a Geraldine call me, no response as of yet. Stay as far away from this company as you can. You're better off keeping what you have down on your floor than dealing with these people. My wife and I set up a time for this past Friday between 12:00 and 4:00 and when no one showed up we were told they will be out within an hour only to get another call back saying their truck broke down ( so basically lied to ) after numerous calls to customer service trying to either get our money back or a little something back for our aggravation the best they could do is give us a appointment four days later. We should have been the first appointment on Saturday. This company will cash your deposit as soon as they get it. They will not budge on any of their screw ups, and there are plenty. This is honestly the worst company I have ever worked with!! First, the salesperson didn't know what he was doing and sold me flooring that doesn't match my present flooring. The installers never showed me the flooring before ripping out my carpet. I called National Floors Direct to let them know the color recommended by their salesperson did not match and they told me it was my fault. I wanted to see if I can change out the flooring for something that does match. National Floors Direct wanted to charge me a $1700 restocking fee to change the color even though they say they are direct to the warehouse. Seriously? I finally agreed to pay $500 extra, They said they'll send somebody out to install it. The people came about three hours later and told me they don't move electric beds. Now what am I supposed to do as a 63-year-old woman, move my king-size bed myself??? This company sucks. I have no idea how they got so many positive reviews because they can't possibly be true.
