Notable mentions were the escargot & fried scallops. DEFINITELY request bread because it's so fluffy and good. I went for the grouper special which was honestly the most unimpressive thing at the table and relatively bland. We tried a variety of steak from the New York strip, the dry aged ribeye, and the filet. They were all fine, but nothing superb. The BEST entree at the table was the elk tenderloin. It basically melted in your mouth. The table tried 3 different old fashions and were impressed with all of them. The wine list is EXTENSIVE and I didn't feel as though our server really helped sift through it or make recommendations so we went with the first red we saw and it was decent. Now the desserts may have just been the star of the show. From the pistachio ice cream to the dark chocolate creme brûlée... I'd go back just to sit at the bar for a drink and dessert! Overall the entrees missed expectations but I enjoyed the apps & dessert!

Costa Restaurant in Murrells Inlet delivered an outstanding dining experience from start to finish…read more I ordered the halibut special, and it was absolutely fantastic--perfectly prepared, fresh, flavorful, and easily one of the best seafood dishes I've had in a long time. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in every plate that leaves it. What truly elevated the evening, though, was our server, Molly. She was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable about the menu, and attentive without ever being intrusive. Her recommendations were spot on, and she made sure every detail of our meal was taken care of with genuine hospitality. If you're looking for exceptional food paired with top-notch service, Costa is a must-visit when you're in Murrells Inlet. We'll definitely be back!

Wow what a disappointment! Came here to try after reading…read moresuch rave reviews and received less than satisfactory meals. Dover scallops and risotto - over cooked risotto (almost mush consistency), burnt butter on the scallop sear. I decided to send the dish back because the scallops were not seared well and undercooked in the middle. Server comes back after talking to the kitchen and the response was "if I was sure I wanted the scallops to be remade because they are a high cost menu item" or something to that line. Ended up ordering a sausage pasta with broccoli rabe, and that was equally dissatisfying with the lack of balance with the bitterness of the rabe and pasta sauce. What a disappointment for a restaurant that prides itself on local seafood.

The fish of the day was sea bass in a delicate tarragon buerre blanc over zucchini noodles. Seared Tuna was also enjoyed by several. Flounder on an okra cake was unique and yummy but the flounder was unexpectedly fried. Pork ribeye (I've never seen that before) was huge. Appetizers included she crab soup which was similar to lobster bisque complete with sherry. Crab salad was light and refreshing. Mango gazpacho could have been blended to be more soup like, as served was more of a salsa. Regardless of any little comments, this was our favorite meal of many. Thank you!

My family has been coming to Chive Blossom every year during our beach trips for over a decade. The…read morefood has always been excellent, especially the she crab soup. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently poor the past two years, so we had decided to stop going. At the last minute, my boyfriend and I decided to give it one more chance with just the two of us, thinking the previous issues may have been due to our large family group. Ironically, the service this time was excellent, and the food was delicious. We ordered drinks, she crab soup for both of us, an appetizer, steak, and the crab cake entree. While we were eating, I noticed the table next to us had ordered a single crab cake as an add-on to one of their dishes. Their crab cake looked completely normal. My entree, which came with two crab cakes, looked noticeably different, they weren't fully formed and had an unusual appearance. I noticed it but didn't think much of it at the time. The crab cake tasted fine, but because we had ordered so much food, I ate less than half of one before taking the rest home. A few hours after dinner, I became violently ill and spent the entire night sick. The next morning, my boyfriend and I tried to determine what could have caused it. The only food I had eaten that no one else did was the crab cakes. Every other thing was shared with at least one other person, and many of those same foods were also eaten by the rest of our beach group. No one else became sick. Because I was still feeling so ill, I asked my boyfriend to call the restaurant, not to ask for compensation, but simply to let them know what had happened so they could investigate and hopefully prevent it from happening to someone else. The manager's response was that "there is a GI bug going around." She said she would speak with the kitchen manager and owner and call us back. Four days later, we have yet to receive any follow up. Whether or not the restaurant believes the crab cakes were the cause, dismissing a customer's report by immediately suggesting an unrelated illness, then failing to follow up as promised, is disappointing and unprofessional. We weren't looking for a refund or free meal, we simply wanted to make them aware of a potentially serious issue. Given our previous experiences with declining service and now the way this situation was handled, my family and I will not be returning. The food has always been one of our favorites, which makes this outcome even more disappointing.

The place is lively, and has ac inside to keep you cool in the summer heat. They give you a nice basked of bread when you arrived and large drinks. I ordered the shrimp appetizer for dinner and it was so good. I didn't leave a single bite for leftover. My daughter got a burger and it was pretty big for kids size! It also came with fruit which was appreciated. My husband got the po boy and also enjoyed it. The server was very friendly, helpful, and took time talking to us. We will absolutely return the next time we are in town!

We started with a carafe of blood orange mimosas. The flavor was great! I would've liked a little bit more chilled but nothing a little ice couldn't take care of. I went with the grilled Romaine salad. What an awesome choice. The Romain was grilled to perfection and topped with a lot of crumbled blue cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, pistachios, bacon, and blueberries. The fried oysters we're served to the side of the salad and they were not too heavily battered and made a delicious compliment to this amazing salad. The warm Maple bacon vinaigrette was absolutely delicious. I will not be just passing by this pace anymore - it actually might become one of my regular stops!

Got breaded shrimp which were overly soggy, at least the fries were done well and were not overly salty or saturated with oil. Service was very good, our waitress was nice and friendly offering her opinions of what we might like. She was probably the best part of our visit as the whole place just feels run down, with an unfortunate looking salad bar to boot. I'm all for western themed restaurants but this one just came across as past its prime. Inconsistency is my biggest gripe. Probably won't be coming back unless I can be sure we get the same quality burgers/seafood as our first visit.

I sat there for 32 minutes until somebody finally was flagged down and brought me a menu. I made numerous attempts to catch the waitress and bartender so I could place an order. But all they did was run around the place. The back area was way understaffed. It doesn't help that the bartender and waitress deliver one drink at a time instead of a tray full of items. They definitely need some severe training The room had at least 75 to 100 people in it and there were only two staff. I ordered broiled, seafood, platter, fish Oyster and shrimp. The shrimp were just like salad shrimp the oysters were like dried cardboard that were rehydrated. And the fish was soggy and disgusting. If you're on local, you're going to get waited on way before anybody else! Saturday night is karaoke night as a heads up. Once I got my bill, I had one amount and after giving him my credit card, my bill went up three dollars. It's not a matter of the amount of money but the fact that they charge because you use a credit card. The woman at the front desk states there's a notice on the front door. I took a picture of the front door and there is nothing telling you about surcharges for credit cards. There's also nothing on the menu either. The meal overall was a one out of 10. It was laying in fluid I thought was going to be butter. But I have no idea what it was. It was disgusting! The hush puppies are something, but I don't know what they are. I would highly suggest going somewhere else . As you can see in the photographs, the menu has various items. A very large selection of those items are all listed as market price. So when your waitress finally arrives at your table, you're going to have 30 questions on what pricing is. And they get upset when you ask them those questions.
