We also recently discovered Second Chance, which we thought was awesome. So, we were excited when we found out about this place. The amount of wood that they had was amazing! It was a fantastic assortment of different quality kinds of wood, at very reasonable prices! They have a great selection of items that you might need for your home, whether you are remodeling, or just looking to add a few new pieces to your decor. I did not realize until I looked at their website that they have a $10 per year membership fee. However, for the quality of items you get at such amazing prices, it's definitely worth it to support a great non-profit.

Their "customer service staff" is delightful and outstanding++ as they have been from the beginning! I could spend hours (as one of their staff members has suggested in a video short), but my family would officially think "I had gone missing". (that's a "joke" in case you've lost your sense of humor these days) As an ex-fed, I'm thankful that I'm a member of the very "inexpensive annual $10 donation of product" team. It breaks my heart when I see people tear up old homes on some, but not all TV Reno shows. The next time my contractor is able to work here, I'm going to recommend that they take all of their "unused but still good materials here". Thankfully, TLD (at 2 N. Kresson St., in Baltimore, MD 21224) sells fantastic products from "what was truly back in the day" at Extra Low Prices. Such a small staff, still running fast. I needed old brick to fix up a fireplace chimney in my living room and saw Brick & Board online. I was greeted when I got to their warehouse, and one of the employees helped me match my brick almost perfectly. They loaded it up for me, were helpful & friendly, and prices were fair. They had loads and loads of salvaged wood inside -- look forward to checking that out too.

If you know or care about the difference between an MDF cabinet box with laminate doors and a plywood one with solid maple doors, you will appreciate this place. They have everything you need to finish a home on the interior and exterior. Doors, windows, siding, flooring, cabinets, tubs, on and on. There are some deals, some not. Know your prices headed in. Inventory varies and if their website has it, it may be for order, or only available when they randomly get stock. They are conscientious about what they have or don't if you call ahead, but were a little impatient with a longer list. Their website says "We pride ourselves on providing excellent sales and delivery services to the Cecil County, Harford County, northern Baltimore County, New Castle County, Delaware and Chester County, Pennsylvania areas," but they do not go as far as the PA counties mentioned, at least not for homeowner orders. So be local or be prepare to haul stuff home. Made a trip today but they didn't have what I needed in a price competitive with another liquidator, though they definitely had great deals compared to Depot, Lowe's and my supplier. Had I not known of my other source, I definitely would've still saved 40% on fiberglass entry doors, and about 15% on fiberglass patio doors. They also offer a much better selection than a home improvement box store.

We do a lot of gardening, and while I expected them to be able to calculate the amount of soil we needed based on the measurements of the space we wanted to fill, I did not expect them to ask what we intended to grow so they could bring a blend of soil blended just for that. The deliveries have always been very smooth, and they have made sure to place it exactly where we wanted every time, and the drivers even hang out to consult on other projects when we have questions. I went there looking for a dishwasher and found one. I was fearful that it might not work, since you can't plug it up there and find out, so I asked the guy in charge of that area if I get home and find out it doesn't work then what can I do. He told me that I could bring it back and get a full return if I do it before the end of the week. When I registered, the lady told me that if I have a problem with it and I just don't wait 30-40 days then I can do the same. Those words stuck in my head so it gave me peace. I get home and we're having problems with it and so I call back 2 days later and the guy who picked up the phone said "That's a problem because we don't take returns or exchanges". He passed the phone off to a woman, and I'm mad I didn't ask for both their names because I would just blast both of them versus the whole business, but the attitude was insane.
