Dr. McNutt approached my problems pragmatically, listening to my whole story to piece together why I may still be experiencing pain. Another dentist told me that I should get additional root canals and crowns to solve the problem but after listening and looking at my X-rays Dr. McNutt determined that all that was needed was a bite adjustment. As I am typing this my mouth feels back to normal for the first time in months. I am so thankful for his conservative approach and that he was willing to dedicate so much time listening to me rather than just attempting to quickly solve the problem. He saw me as a person and not just a quick paycheck. My family and I will be his new patients for life!

However, my personal experience with the dental hygienist at my very first visit is that she was extremely aggressive. I honestly felt like I was a toilet bowl she was scrubbing the inside of when it came to the tooth polishing process - it was literally comical! I had toothpaste and water all over my face. This is not normal folks! Not to mention how painful the actual cleaning was. She did not use a manual scraping tool but rather an electronic water pick type tool which she was so aggressive with. After I came home my entire mouth was hurting for hours. I brush twice a day and floss every night. I have had nothing but excellent cleanings. But this lady said I had deep pockets that needed to be cleaned. In the past when I have had to have deep cleaning they would anesthetize you...this was not done. She just dug right on in there with her electric cattle prod instrument! So needless to say I will NOT be going back.

He walked me through everything in what was a very tricky route canal. I will add that I also hate going somewhere just to get a quote but I also understand that often x-rays are a necessity because there's so much you can not see. It was actually a different dentist with stellar reviews that did a terrible cavity filling and introduced an infection into the tooth. It was Dr. Stein who fixed it.
