I saw Dr. Cross today. He's super nice and patient and seems to really care. The office staff were all very professional. The only complaint I have with this optometry 'mega-chain' is their prices. Their prices are off the charts compared to what you can get online. And honestly, the quality is just as good if not better from the online shops. With my insurance I'm only able to get one pair of very cheap eyeglasses per year. I was not even able to get any uv or blue light coatings on my glasses. Only the cheapest possible plastic lenses with no coatings. So I did place an order for one pair of glasses to have as a back up, but the real glasses that I will purchase to use on a regular basis will have to come from an online store and I'll have to pay out-of-pocket. Those will only cost $35 though compared to the $250 that Nationwide Vision wanted to charge. I really do appreciate that the exam was covered and the doctor was super nice. read more

We made an appointment by going into the location on swan and speedway in Tucson, AZ. We asked does my sons insurance covered the appointment and glasses. The receptionist said yes. So we made an appointment for two weeks later. We were there for two hours!!!! Then we were told it was a $50 copay for the exam and it didn't include the glasses. Then when my son went to pick out some frames, the employee didn't even show him which wall were men's. She was NOT helpful at all. She didn't tell us about any specials. When asked about special, which she wasn't forthcoming about in the first place, she just pointed to the wall. Very rude, long wait, and not forthcoming with information. read more

Waited 25 minutes past my appointment time before I asked when i would be seen. Rude people. Walked out. Heard them talking about a customer when I first walked in. Would never consider any nationwide again as several years ago they acted like i should spend $800 on my glasses. read more

If you buy glasses from Nationwide remember this is a budget chain and you get what you pay for. Many of the glasses are cheaply made and the staff really doesn't really care when you have an issue. They don't support their products and they don't do any repairs on site. They have to return them to where ever they came from and they'll charge you for that. They tell you they will have the manager call you and they never follow through. Seems like a lot of staff turnover too. Every time I was there there was never the same employees in the store. read more

Dr Cross is a good doctor, however, the staff not so good. I have Americas for eye insurance coverage & Nationwide is listed as one of the designated provider. My insurance is combined with my dental insurance, staff needs to call Americas select Dental to get my eye insurance information. I had to explain this to them 3 different times. All they do is check their system to see if I have eye care insurance. I had an appointment on 4/15/24 but because staff wouldn't talk to Americas to talk with Customer Service representative, I ended canceling my appointment. I went home and called Americas to get confirmation of my coverage they confirmed Nationwide staff needs to call them directly, not check system. I went back to Nationwide the next day 4/16/24 to inform them about what Americas told me. The girl covering the front desk at that time actually took the time to follow up with Americas, wrote down information on my eye coverage of $100. she told me she documented it so I don't have a problem again. I was rescheduled for today 4/22/24 but again I had the same problem. The girl wouldn't even call Americas for my coverage. I'm 67 years old and need whatever help to cover my eye cost. Unfortunately, staff at this office doesn't care. read more

I have been seeing Jennifer Wilson, at Nationwide Vision since moving to the Tucson area. She has moved around locations, and I always follow her to her current office. She is professional,but in a relaxed and friendly way. I am glad that I have her to keep my eyes healthy. read more

Tina Delgado is an amazing employee, definetly an asset to the nationwide vision team her on Oracle Rd. We were scheduled for contact trial appt for my daughter and some of the folks were unable to help due to understaffing 4/29/23, and they told me I would need to reschedule my daughters appt, butttttttttttttttttttttt Tina stepped in and saved the day, and with her help we had a successful appt, and my daughter has the knowledge and understanding of her contacts. high five Tina Delgado, we need more employees like you a thank you read more

(ZERO STAR) I'm not sure how this place is still open. I wear a -2 in each eye. No issues with vision at this prescription. The doctor tried prescribing me -2.5 in one eye, and -2.25 in the other. Then argued with me when I expressed my concern. Lol Then you got the office ladies. This admin is the most unorganized, unprofessional admin I've ever seen. They don't verify anything with insurances and then charge additional fees on services that weren't provided and never took place. Thanks to them nickel & diming me, I lost half of the coverage I'm benefited for contact purchases. Then when I call to clear up the issue, the lady I spoke with proceeds to yell over me when I'm explaining the issue and what my insurance JUST told me before speaking with her. Don't go here for yourself and especially don't take kids here. They'll be a -8 by the time they're 18 with these guys. read more

I have been a client of Nationwide Vision for approximately 6 years. The doctor on staff is highly qualified and one of the best eye care specialist I have ever had the opportunity to be examined by. The staff is kind, courteous, and patient. I'd like to give a special shout out, to Melissa. She is the Tech who I can always depend upon to help me to choose (just) the right pair of eye glass frames that are right for me. Left to my own devices, I would otherwise, walk out of there with a pair of glasses that I would ultimately find myself to be dissatisfied with. Do not go here. Terrible service. After two hours in the place they would not give us the prescription, said they had to order lenses before they could fit them on my daughter, and the lenses will take days to come in. Then she has to get them fitted and then come back a week later. Ridiculous. Never go here, they are rude and they simply want you to order lenses that are twice the price you can get online. read more

AWFUL! Do not come here. The staff schedules appointments and then you sit and wait 45+ minutes, and watch them help walk ins right in front of you. Very unprofessional when they do help you. Contact lens training should not be 5 feet from the front door and in front of the entire store. They are disorganized, ordered the wrong type of lenses, and then called twice to re-schedule our appt. We showed up during the time slot THEY said they would someone to help us. And it still didn't happen. Also, the main doctor there is not very professional. He rambles wayyyyy off topic. There is no reason a child's eye exam should take an hour once you are with the doctor, as you listen to him complain about his personal life ad nauseum. I shopped around to put thin lenses in my own frames. I was quoted a price with my insurance, and then several months later was billed for the amount that they said my insurance would pay. I thought they had checked with the insurance in the first place, and did not have this problem at other places, like Sears. The lenses didn't even last a year. It was like having cataracts, even thought the lenses were not scratched, they got opaque, crystal-looking white spots. I brought them back and was told that I didn't buy the warranty, so I was SOL even thought they didn't last. I will never go back. read more

I was blown away by how poorly they treated my eleven year old son. They acted very inexperienced in dealing with children during the diagnostic tests and then the doctor told me my child's vision was fine and he was lying about needing glasses. Don't take your kids here ever. read more

Terrible! I have had multiple problems with this business/ location. Unfortunately they did my LASIK so I have no other option. I came today for an appointment for glasses because my LASIK was unsuccessful (and an awful experience). I had a 1:10 appointment. I put it on my calendar and had the phone on speaker phone so my husband can verify the appointment time. I checked in at 1:05 giving my name and appointment time. I filled out the paperwork and waited 30 minutes before finally questioning the receptionists because i took time off of work for this appointment. One of them typed something into the computer and said that my appointment was at 2:10, the doctor is at lunch, and i am really early. Actually i don't know if I even buy the story. That would have been useful information when i checked in. When i asked about the LASIK follow up they just said they don't know anything about it and the person who does that is not here. After asking more questions she said they don't know and i have to call the LASIK people.... to which i finally replied.... "well... can i have the phone number to call them?". Terrible service. 3... now 4 staff sitting here doing nothing while the doctor is at lunch. Frustrating!! And 2:30.... still waiting. read more

They just want your money. I purchased their warranty but happen to call a week after it expired because my one of lenses cracked. I then asked if I could order a new pair of lenses and they told me I would have to go in for an appointment. So now I'm basically stuck without glasses. They don't care about their customers.
