    Aloo Gobi take-out
    Tamara P.

My husband and I like to pick up take out of our favorite dishes here. I personally love their aloo gobi and garlic naan. It's good comfort food for me just like Thai food. Yes their prices have gone up as with everything else, but we continue to get our Indian food fix here.

2 item combination with garlic naan $14 including tax

2 item combination with garlic naan ~$14 Choice of One chicken entree + One vegetable entree I chose the spicy chicken curry and saag paneer. The flavors were okay. I liked the texture of the saag. Wish they both spicier. They can also put some curry sauce on the basmati rice. Garlic naan was delicious!! Absolutely loved it! Overall, ok good but the prices are a bit expensive. Order the garlic naan though!

2-item combo: chicken tikka masala and lauki sabzi. Combo also comes w/ naan

Met with some fam at the Food Festival Food Court for a lunchtime gathering. Several options to choose from at this food court and I decided on this place. I got a 2-item combo with chicken tikka masala and lauki sabzi (the lauki sabzi was recommended by the friendly gentleman at the counter after I asked him what's particularly really good here). The meal also included naan. Although the chicken tikka masala looked appetizing with its vibrant orange color, it was very bland. I initially have never had nor heard of lauki sabzi, but it's a vegetarian entree made with bottle gourd, a vegetable that I wasn't familiar with either (but after having it, it's very reminiscent of radish in terms of taste and texture). Like the chicken tikka masala, the lauki sabzi didn't have much flavor (aside from the bottle gourd's radish-y taste). The basmati rice was a bit mushy even in the parts that weren't drenched in tikka masala sauce. The only thing that I liked was the garlic naan. Had a satisfying chew to it and it was nice seeing actual chopped garlic embedded onto it. Is it worth getting a whole combo just for the naan though? Not really. Maybe the other entrees here are much better, but I wasn't greatly impressed with the ones that I had.

The best service ever. Came here with my boyfriends for a date night and the staff was super loving. We got to try a few flavors as we were nervous about what to choose and it was OUTSTANDING. We order a little of everything and it was amazing

Best tiki masala and garlic naan that I've ever had. This is the place I have compared all other Indian food too. Highly recommend.

The ambience was nice with many wall, booths and tables and a TV playing some Bollywood music. I enjoyed the atmosphere. I stopped by on a Wednesday for a lunch buffet, and I was very pleased with the large variety of items, including chicken tikka masala, tandoori chicken, chicken or lamb curry (did not try it) and chili chicken. The butter chicken sauce was very tasty. The tandoori chicken also had a pretty good marinade and it was not overcooked. On the vegetarian side offerings , they had dal, some kind of dry potato (aloo) curry, Saag Paneer, Navaratan korma, Bengan Barta, and also miniature Samosa and egg rolls. All the dishes were tasty and hot. The buffet was so good I bought one to go for my wife. I will definitely come back. The owner was very polite and also the waiter (Durzo sp?) was very polite, accommodating, and gracious. Royal India gets five stars on the variety of offerings considering buffets can be limited, five stars in value, and the food gets 4 1/2 stars. I will be back thank you very much.

I recently placed an order through Uber Eats during a "Buy One, Get One Free" promotion and chose to pick it up myself. When I arrived there, I realized that only one item had been included in my order. I immediately brought this to the staff's attention, but instead of trying to help, I was told that the promotion "didn't apply correctly" in the system. The problem is that I had already paid for the order, and the restaurant had received the payment. Even if there was an issue with Uber Eats, it would have taken very little effort and goodwill to honor the promotion and provide the second item that I reasonably expected to receive. Unfortunately, there was no attempt to resolve the situation, and no concern for a customer who has supported this business for many years. I left with an incomplete order. It's sad to end a relationship with a restaurant I've enjoyed for so long, but customer service matters, and this experience showed me that customer loyalty does not.

The burritos individually wrapped and were the right size for the parents, though even at mild, the butter chicken was a little spicy to me. I asked about allergens, and the lady let me know that they were going nut free in a week and everything would no longer have nuts. The butter chicken does contain dairy in the form of queso. We also ordered a tray of the corn bhel (this was AMAZING) and mixed salad (in hindsight, probably not the best order for a bunch of four and five year olds). Both are dairy-free and nut-free. The food was delivered promptly to the venue exactly on time. I paid for the order via Zelle when I placed the order.

What did I just eat?…read more I'm genuinely confused after eating at Maast Indian in Irvine, because I don't know how something can look so promising on the outside and taste so disappointing on the inside. I was skeptical walking in, not gonna lie. The place wasn't exactly packed -- maybe three tables had people and there was one person waiting on an order -- but I figured hey, every new spot deserves a fair shot. The interior actually looks really nice. Clean, modern, good layout, good lighting... it feels like a place that should be delivering quality food. Then I ordered the Tandoori Chicken "Panini Sandwich". First of all... $15 for a sandwich like that is wild. And if you're going to charge $15, the food better be memorable in a good way. This was memorable in the worst way. The flavor was just off. The chicken didn't taste like tandoori should. It didn't have that smoky, spiced kick you expect -- it tasted bland and kind of weird, like the seasoning didn't know what it wanted to be. The whole sandwich felt thrown together, and the "panini" part didn't add anything except disappointment. And what really got me was the value. No fries. No chips. Nothing on the side. Just a sandwich. For $15. During lunch hours. That's crazy. For that same price, I can go to Curry Hut, Curry Time, or other grab-and-go Indian spots and get a full combo plate that actually fills you up and tastes like Indian food is supposed to taste. This wasn't even in the same league. This wasn't a "maybe I ordered the wrong thing" situation. This was a "how did this make it onto the menu" situation. I hate leaving negative reviews because I understand how hard it is to run a small business, and I'm not here to tear anyone down. But the food needs a serious reality check. The presentation and the space are great -- but the kitchen needs to match that same standard. If the owner sees this, I'd honestly love to talk. Feel free to reach out. And for anyone reading this: you know I don't throw out 1-star reviews like that. The only reason this isn't a 1 is because I genuinely don't want to hurt a small business. But this experience was not good.

The place is spotlessly clean, the service is exceptionally great, and the menu is so exhaustive you might need a bookmark. We went all-in on the dinner service. The Naan was fresh, pillowy, and tasty enough to eat on its own. The Chicken 65 was prepared with the exact right amount of spice--perfectly balanced and making me wonder what happened to chickens 1 through 64. The Dahl was fantastic, but the absolute showstopper was the Biryani. Take it from someone who has spent time working in Hyderabad: this is the real deal, highly reminiscent of the city's absolute finest. We finished things off with the Shahi Tukda, which was so incredibly rich and tasty it probably needs its own tax bracket. Beyond the food, the logistics are a breeze. It's right off El Toro Road with ample parking (a true Southern California miracle). They also offer catering if you want to be the hero of your next event.
