I stopped in with my daughter to buy hair dye. We already had a brand in mind and were pretty much ready to pay, so we were only planning to be there for a few minutes. Isabel casually asked if the dye was for my daughter and what she was hoping to do with her hair. You could immediately tell she wasn't just trying to make a sale--she was genuinely interested in helping her get the best result while also protecting her hair. My daughter wanted to go red, and Isabel took the time to recommend a product/company she really trusted that would give her the color she wanted while causing minimal damage and also explained the benefits of the leave-in product. She was so knowledgeable, caring, and positive without ever being pushy. I left the decision up to my daughter, and she decided to take Isabel's advice. We are SO glad she did because she absolutely loves how her hair turned out! More than anything, I appreciated the genuine conversation and the time Isabel took with us. I reached Mirako Spa in Brea for my facial appointment exactly 3 mins late. A lady who told me that…read moremy appointment was at 2:30pm. (I have attached text messages that my appointment was at 2:45pm). Upon showing the text message, she agreed that I was late by 3 mins. (+ 5 mins grace period). I was informed right away that I need to reschedule as I was late or cut down my facial time from 60mins to 40 mins. I should have arrived 15 mins before the appointment time. Therefore, my showing up delayed by 3 mins would delay the next client by 15 mins as they needed time to prepare for the next client! Math doesn't add up any way we look at it unless they had informed in advance to show up 15 mins before the appointment time, which they hadn't. 1. There was absolutely no notification or instruction provided to me about arriving 15 mins early before the appointment time at the time of making my appointment or text reminder. Therefore if one is late by less than. 10 mins, they lose their facial time by 20mins and are lashed out if clients try to reason out. I was told me to depart as I was 3 mins late or reduce my facial time by 20 mins. 2. Jenny, who came over from inside took over the conversation, was very unprofessional and rude. She argued with me for 15 mins non-stop when I tried to reason out that if I was late by 3 mins, if they wanted to be a stickler of time without informing me to arrive 15 mins early, they should take away 3 mins of my time not, 20 mins. She yelled at me saying "I don't want you to come here ever, I never want to give you service!". I don't understand how Mirako Spa even employs such people who are clueless about how to treat clients with courtesy, let alone working in a service industry. Here is the twist: when I checked in, another lady besides Jenny told me that my appointment was at 2:30pm, which their mistake to begin with as my appointment was at 2:45pm. It appears that they messed up with their own scheduling but because I was 3 mins late for my 2:45 appt, I bore the brunt of Jenny's unprofessional behavior as she couldn't admit that they had accidentally messed up scheduling my appointment. I searched everywhere and didn't see nail clippers. I walked up the front and asked the employee for help. She said she hadn't seen nail clippers at their store. She offered some advice of going to an actually Sephora store. She was very nice and friendly. I looked up some Sephora stores nearby. I also thought to look online. I figured, if they have it, wouldn't it be sol online? Online doesn't show that Sephora sells nail clippers. I don't really want to drive around to several stores if they don't even sell it. I'm guessing this is something they used to sell, but don't anymore? Or maybe they only sell this item around the holidays. I'm not too sure at this point. We stopped in to return something actually from Kohl's and since I haven't had a chance to go to the mall to see if my tinted moisturizer is available I decided to stop here at the Sephora at Kohl's. So happy I did, I checked to see if they have my Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, they unfortunately discontinued the one I have been using for 20 years now so sad, don't you hate when they do that? Lol! But I was hopeful I saw they have reformulated the formula and decided to see if I could find my shade. Surprisingly I found my shade quite easily yay. I wasn't sure how I would like it but I love it matched my skin perfectly. Tinted moisturizer is not for everyone but i really like it since it's light and looks natural and also has spf in it to protect your skin. The girl that helped me at the counter was so friendly and helpful. I didn't need anything else so that's all I got. They have a good selection here which I appreciate since it doesn't smell of perfume like the Sephora at the mall lol, I really appreciate that. There are a variety of shops to choose from, the main ones being a 99 Cents Only, Sherwin-Williams, and CVS. Other shops include a dry cleaner, a dog groomer, a pool supply, and a smoke shop. If you're hungry, there is also a Subway and a Little Cesar's Pizza. My overall impression is that the whole shopping center (shops and parking lot) could use cosmetic improvements to make it more modern and appealing.
