We went to their Easter egg hunt with our grandson. It was awful There were many adults by themselves who came in with no kids all of whom got golden eggs. Families were separating and going down separate aisles instead of going with their kids. It was so disappointing. Our grandson got 2 eggs while I saw these adults with dozens each and most with golden eggs. You could have done better Natural Grocers. read more

Still as fantastic as when they first opened. Always well stocked with the best products and produce. I love the organic produce section, and especially enjoy the bulk dry goods foods selection. A huge selection of every vitamin, mineral, health supplement imaginable. Plus a knowledgeable staff to help guide you through the choices. I also recently bought a nutrition book there that I refer to weekly. And supplies to make homemade lotion. Plus a Himalayan salt lamp. Coooool! read more

I figured I'd give this place a review since I just reviewed the one in Vancouver. This is an awesome store. It's big, it's new and things are always in stock. Produce is fresh and they always seem to have a lot of sales. I'm not sure why so many people complain about it, but maybe it has something to do with the local food co-ops in the area? I know a lot of people were not happy with Natural Grocers coming to Coos bay because it would cause competition within the local health businesses. I think it's great since the local co-ops are so expensive. I do try to shop local, but I aways like to save too. Anyway, this shop is awesome. I miss it and with they would have a big store like this in Vancouver. The only downfall...not enough people at the checkout so the wait can be annoying. read more

Don't ask me why I had to wait and go to one of these in a town far away from where I live when I have one just down the street, but this is my first time in and I'm hooked. I recently started eating a more plant-based diet and so I have been comparison-shopping some to figure out where the best pricing is for organic foods and nut based dairy products. Natural grocers wins hands-down with a great selection and lots of choices and amazing prices. I was thrilled to see it was actually right next-door to the hotel I was staying in and I was able to buy a few things so that if I get into a bind in the next few days while traveling I still will be able to eat. I always appreciate natural grocers, in this case I appreciated them because we are on a road trip and I knew that this was a place that would have a public restroom. I was so excited about that because I really had to go. After that we got some gummies and cookies. I always love the selection at Natural Grocers and I think it's nice being able to support a company that has this business model. I think it's one of the cooler aspects of the modern world. Granted, all health food, organic types of places have high prices, and sometimes the natural candies suck and are a waste of that money. So, buyer beware I guess. read more

This isn't a grocery store, it's a GNC writ large. The minuscule produce section full of completely out-of-season root vegetables and winter squashes aside, all you get here is overpriced homeopathic nonsense, vitamins of all shapes and sizes, and the same organic and GMO free products you can get in almost any other store on the coast - even McKay's Markets has most of the same selection these guys offer in actual food, and they don't charge $7 a gallon for their organic milk or $8 for a tiny block of imported cheese that isn't anymore natural or organic than Tillamook. They can't even keep normal hours. What kind of grocery store doesn't open until 9am on Sunday, and who in the world closes at 8:36pm? read more

What a great place to shop!!! Everyone is super friendly and genuinely kind. They listen and are always helpful. The prices are good too for the high quality products they offer. I also appreciate shopping the bulk foods to be able to lessen my garbage. Definitely our favorite place to shop in Coos Bay. read more

Recently the Manager Michael and his team went out of there way to help in finding a vegan key lime pie for my sons bday!! My new one-stop store! Produce is 100% organic and full of variety. I've never seen kohlrabi or kumquats in Coos Bay till now. Their vitamin department is very expansive and almost overwhelming, but their vitamin manager knows her stuff! Prices are very reasonable for being a mostly organic health food store. Much more affordable than Baileys or the Co-op. The staff is very friendly and super open to catering to my special orders. The only down side are the long check out lines. They need to hire more people! Also the limited parking kinda sucks but I'm willing to walk a little to shop at my new favorite store! read more

I have been a customer since the doors opened. I purchased 3 bottles of organic wine, totaling 75.97 for a dinner party. The first bottle of red tasted like vinegar, cost $37.99. I brought the bottle, sans 1 glass, and my receipt. The woman I talked to was beyond rude to me. "If you get caught driving around with that open bottle it's going to cost you more than 37.99" She would not refund my money. I deposited the full bottle into their trash receptacle and left. Debating whether to ever set foot in this place again! read more

Extremely rude, hostile and abusive staff. Management rude on phone and in person, and when you call them on it, they get more rude and defensive. Surprised they haven't been clocked yet by someone with less restraint than I have. They're lucky I call them on their shit initially, but since they get defensive that automatically warrants communication to headquarters. Found many other places I can go now to get the same items for half the price and a much more decent shopping experience. read more

This Natural Grocers has the widest variety of natural. healthy and organic foods available in Coos Bay. Rather than making a lengthy trip inland, this is perfect. The staff almost without fail are exceptionally friendly & helpful. Knowledgeable. If they don't know something...they tell you, and do their best to help you find it. I wish I could rate the employees separately from the issues I've experienced with the food product's I have purchased. That would have been a five star rating. In the last month's time, however. I've had repeated issues with food quality. I've had two bags of brazil nuts that were moldy, and returned the second, tossed the first. I've tossed a bag of dried fruit, also containing molding pieces. This past week I purchased, as I have numerous times, a bag of Arrowhead Mills puffed rice cereal. After pouring the last bowl, then eating the cereal down to the last few bites...there was a mouse dropping almost the size of a dried pea. My instant reaction was nausea, knowing it had tainted the milk of what portion I had consumed. I put it on a paper towel and reddish brownish fluid was coming off of it. I magnified it...hoping it was something else. There were tiny hairs protruding from it. It had bits of husk in it. It wasn't burnt cereal. I still feel sick. I went into the store with the rounded shaped feces in a plastic bag to show to the main manager, along with the empty bag with the bar code and lot number. I showed the magnified photo with hairs protruding to a clerk. I don't want a refund.. I was trying to prevent other customers from experiencing what I've experienced. The manager wasn't in, and wasn't due till that night. I felt too nauseous to go through yet another explanation, and they wanted me to leave my information for a call back. They offered a department manager, but I did wish to speak with the store manager. I left, as I truly had just eaten the cereal and felt too sick to stand there. They can't control the quality of Arrowhead Mills cleanliness practices, but they can control what foods they carry and promote. Even though a number of products have resulted in a positive experience...the food is too expensive to have to continually drive back to return moldy products or throw them away. The mouse/rat feces in the cereal experience still makes me nauseous. I'm done with the store and trying to disassociate myself from the memory of what I consumed. I won't go back. read more

This was hyped up. Disappointed that the store is not alot more than row after row of vitamins. Overpriced homemade soaps, brands that are mostly unknown. The freezer section is bland and the produce department is, worth a glance. Bringing your own bags/boxes to carry out your purchase is great, for that alone I hope other stores take notice. Otherwise its a nice building, parking lot is a bit more Portlandia than I like, but, it will be interesting to see what the next business in the building will be. I don't see this one staying long. read more
