This place is amazing!! I've been to several Natural Grocers across multiple states due to living in different cities over the years. This is one of the best locations I've seen. There's such a great selection of items that it's turned into my top grocery store here in town. They have just about everything I need every time I visit. Their staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, and if I have questions or need help they are always ready to jump in. They have regular sales on so many items that there's almost always something that's on my list that they are offering a discount for on any given week. They also have a small area with prepared foods for if you want something right away, including sandwiches, salads, and pasta dishes. I love that this is so near my home and I'm grateful that I can visit on a regular basis. read more

Natural Grover's is part of my grocery store routine for many reasons. The first thing I do is check out their sale section which is a great place to pick up some meal gems for just a couple dollars. Next I grab a live kombucha soda from the drink cooler, then peruse the health and body section to sample some essential oils and face products. Often I bring my water jug for refill and pick up some snacks or staples. The grocery departments have all the essentials at fair prices, and the bulk sections is an excellent way to save money on essential herbs, spices, and baking ingredients. The freezers have everything I would want and there is a separate sale section for meats. The produce is the weakest department but that's probably because they focus more on quality than quantity. The supplement section more than makes up for any weakness with its extensive array of productions. Check out the kitchen in the back for classes! I love the little details that make this store special, such as oil diffusers at each cash register and the bag-free environment. Using a recycled box from products in the store just makes sense, or you can bring your own reusable bag. read more

The primary reason for this is your nutritional health coaches and classes, especially Jessica Kaskey at the Broadway at Country Club location. I have also attended many of her presentations, which have all been very informative and well done. I am quite grateful for these opportunities to learn and grow. How unfortunate of this lady to work at a nice place yet she's unhappy. Well whatever it is she's ruined a lot of the regular shoppers experience here at this store. I've been a NG devotee for about 2 years. I get offers and went in today to get the 50% off soup that was emailed out. The manager couldn't do a thing as their offer wasn't redeemable because it wouldn't connect to their register. It was very unfortunate as I live 25 Mins from one location on another state and went 15 mins out of the way today. This isn't the first time the offer emailed was basically impossible to redeem. This manager on duty walked away w/o an apology or a fix. I think I'll just stick w Sprouts now. It's not worth the driving in traffic to support NG anymore. read more

What a pleasant experience this is, so serene in here, and they have what I need at great prices. Never have I been told such a bunch of BS. Pulled in, parking lot was empty. First sign. Started to go in and five employees walked up from the Taco Bell. Told they were not serving customers as they always complain and are rude. Wow. What did I do except want to shop. Found out the power was out. I make everything myself, I work as a chef and love to get my hands on quality unprocessed ingredients. I'm not the biggest fan of the produce selection but the quality is amazing, they really focus on organic and local(ish) produce. The bulk and supplement sections are unrivaled by any other health food or grocery store. The vibe is cool and I always enjoy chatting with the employees. The selection of healthy products is good, however the customer service is poor. The company should just put in self check outs. It is pointless to have an unfriendly employee scan items after the customer places everything on the belt and then has to self self bag too. I plan to just stick to Trader Joe's where the staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Context: Over 600,000 new COVID-19 cases on average each day now in the U.S., and Arizona cases at their highest level ever, and hospitals overwhelmed. This natural grocers has a big sign on the door as you go in, stating (correctly) that masks are required by government mandate, and further stating that people not wearing a mask will not be permitted in the store. Of the 3 dozen people I saw shopping, at least a third were not masked. I expressed my concern to the cashier, who said, "we are leaving it up to the customer." So if you are immune compromised, or care for someone who it is, or for any other reason are concerned about getting sick, be forewarned. On the other hand, if you don't care about getting COVID-19, and laugh at people worrying about it, just remember that the high numbers hurt everybody, because it means health care isn't available to the extent we've come to depend on it. read more

This is primarily about the Broadway and Kolb location but I like the Broadway and Country Club location too. The more I go here, the more I want to come back. The store manager here is absolutely great. So is the staff, including the super friendly cashiers. Help is easy to find. I especially love the bulk section, since I like baking with interesting grains such as spelt or rye. The prices on the organic herbs and spices are very nice and I like the clean ingredients in all their products. Prices are pretty good - not as inflated as some health food stores and the store alternatives are pretty well priced. Quality is GREAT. Have I mentioned tasty blue potatoes, heirloom tomatoes, and a very nice essential oils section? They also have all the best chocolate. I'm going to keep coming back. I got to experience this quirky little market today, after driving by it for months. My go to grocery stores are Trader Joe's and Sprouts but both a fairly far for me. When I walked up it almost felt like a little secret. I entered through the back with no visible entrance sign. It's tucked under the historic little patio that quite frankly is very cute. I know this particular grocery store had to adhere to strict historic guidelines as the plaza is older. Once inside I was greeted by light piano music which created a mellow vibe. For being 6 PM the store was filled with a few single people like myself and the market had this intimate vibe. I ambled about thru isles of vegan products, exotic names and go to basics. It was quit lovely. The one and only employee (beyond the cashier) was stocking items and asked if I needed any help. He was very nice. I found a couple basic items that I needed, the produce section is not huge but my palate is not very adventurous so it was OK. I found some favorites that I get at Trader Joe's and Sprouts. I felt lucky to escape with a $15 bill because some items were quite expensive and other items were quite tempting! When it was time to check out after looking at all the various fridges and freezers and isles and home care, I found a lone cashier. She was extraordinarily friendly. She told me the store closes at 9:04 because the owner wanted to give people getting off work a little more time to shop. I was intrigued to see that if you didn't have reusable bags they offered cardboard boxes for your groceries. The reusable bags were only $.99 and the boxes were free. I left the store feeling very relaxed and not completely frazzled by the hustle and bustle of normal grocery stores. The cashier told me it gets busy in waves and I feel grateful that I missed one of those waves. Sadly it will not replace my other two favorite stores but I will be revisiting when I need a couple items to hold me through until the weekend shop. read more

Location, location, location! The first Natural Grocers location was just too far of a drive, but now it's a little under ten minutes away and I am so grateful! Bring your own bags and shop away on all the fresh, organic and natural product. For my shopping needs they've pretty much got all the product I look for weekly and quite frankly, the quality is fresher than Whole Foods. No before you go: you really do need to being your own bags. If you forget, don't fret! They will help you out and pack your groceries in a cardboard box. I love stocking up on flavored Apple Cider vinegar drinks and their supplement department is great too. A great addition to the midtown area. read more

This store recently opened close to me and I am digging it. All the produce is organic and very well-priced. Cheaper than Whole Foods. The bulk food section is different than most. They don't have self-serve open bins. Everything is pre-packaged for you which defeats the purpose of bulk somewhat. One of the employees was trying to sell me on the "this is cleaner" angle. I prefer the open bulk bins, as I get to control the quantity of what I buy. But no biggie. Everything is reasonably priced. Again, most (if not all) is organic. I have been getting some of my grocery staples here (Ezequiel bread, freshly-ground almond butters) for a great price so I will be frequenting this store often. Also, they carry a LOT of supplements. Their rewards program called {N} Power is worth signing up online for. You can load coupons to your account so you don't have to bring (or forget) paper coupons. I saved $5 last time when I bought $25 worth of stuff. I also got a free (big) bag of almonds. They don't do bags here so if you forget your own you can use a cardboard box from a pile at the front of the store (from their shipments and whatnot). Just something worth noting. A great little store with friendly employees. What's not to love? read more

I love this store. They don't carry your normal grocery store items or brands but that makes it fun to look for new stuff to try. I stop in and get items ready to heat from the chilled section. I especially love the little meat/cheese/olive trays to snack on. They are located in the beautiful Broadway Village shopping center. read more

I've shopped here twice and the first time they sold me a "Try Me" item.... I asked the lady in the beauty section if the item came with a safety seal because it looked like once upon a time it had another piece attached to the label. This was the very last muscle rub stick they had so I had nothing else to compare it to... anyways, the store associate said, "No. Most of our beauty products do come with them, but not all of them do." It didn't look used when I looked at it but it didn't look new. Anyways I happened to find myself at the store on River the very next day for some dolmas and while I was there I paid the muscle rub a visit and sure as shit they have a plethora of them and each and every one was fully equipped with a safety seal. On my third visit to NG (back at the Broadway location to return the flipping muscle rub) I end up grabbing two essential oils that I'd been wanting, a kombucha, and an aromatherapy inhaler. I make the return before I purchased the new items, and the cashier looks at me like I'm a piece of shit for returning something. Even after I explained what happened. And on a separate transaction scans my new items, which I pay for and leave. I get back to work and look the receipt over and low and behold she's charged me twice for one of the essential oils. So basically this is where I am. The oils online, directly from the local Tucsonan lady who makes them are $3 cheaper than what they're charging...so now cause I'm petty I'm returning them... the muscle rub is something I can find at Sprouts...so I'm returning that too...and well the kombucha is long gone, but if it wasn't I'd return that shit too. I'm not supporting a business no matter how much I prefer to shop local that doesn't have their ish together. I don't live near the store so it's a total pain in the ass to have to make my way back over there to get treated like a savage for daring to make a return. read more

I can't help it, but when I'm offered a juicy Granny Smith apple by a smiling Produsta (a barrista for produce in my world) I will bite in. I'd been waiting with bated breath for Natural Grocers to open in my neighborhood, and it actually exceeds expectations with sparkling, dewy produce, the "grab and go" cooler case bursting with generous bags of trail mix and healthy snacks perfect to stick in one's backpack for a mountain hike or an urban walk, and local and focused selections of ethnic foods (including four flavors of sauerkraut!). I feel like I'm "sticking it to the man" and thumbing my nose at the big, overpriced healthy chains like Whole Foods, Sprouts and Trader Joe's as the price points are within most budgets and the selection is superior for me. I'm not interested in a sprawling deli as I can cut my own meat and assemble my own sandwiches. Registering online puts you on their mailing list for freebies and generous coupons. Finally, a local market with progressive ideas. No plastic or paper bags! read more

And if a store is going to go without bags (a concept I support), why not make bulk available for customers to fill their own containers? There is fresh peanut butter but in only plastic containers.
