About five years ago I found someone local who was able to work with my full brows. She had a one-style-fits-all approach for brows that happened to work for my brows. But then I started noticing that depending on her mood, she would take too much hair off or overarch my eyebrows. Then our schedules were hard for me to schedule appointments. So eight months ago I was on the search for another brow artist. I found one through Yelp in NYC close to my job and stuck with her for 5 months hoping that she would be able to one day get the shape right. After 5 months of money down the drain, I searched for another local brow artist on Yelp and found Cynthia. I was praying to the brow gods to help me out. After months of inconsistent eyebrows and not feeling my best (I already mentioned I'm an eyebrow feign), in one session I felt like a brand new woman. I'm so happy I found Cynthia and a bonus is she's super close to my house. I've never written a review for either of my past two eyebrow ladies because I felt that although I liked my brows, something wasn't right about them. They were either too arched or too thin. The waxing process took less than 15 minutes which was impressive! They stay in the room with you when you undress which I thought would make me uncomfortable, but it was fine. They offer products for you to use at home but they don't pressure you to buy anything. This location is in a strip mall with plenty of parking so no worries about that. The only qualm I have is that afterwards, I had some redness above my eyebrow that I thought was just the normal redness. On a closer look, it was a small abrasion from the threading. She also gave me a nice aftercare kit. Ashlee really takes her time which is a great thing, but pay attention to the time she tells you and be prepared to be there a while [my lash set and brows took a little over 3 hours]. Also, extra stars for the most AMAZING playlist going throughout my service -- Luther Vandross, Aaliyah, Usher, Mariah Carey, Lloyd.. whew! I went to the salon to get the nails removed and was told "it's usually $20 but because we think it's our fault you would pay $10" Considering I have been a loyal customer for 2 years, have never had a fungus in my life, and was blatantly told it was their fault, I'm not sure why I would be required to pay anything? No suggestions for healing were provided, was just told to let it grow out. Resulting in additional payments for anti fungal treatment. I returned my fully filled out customer card with the intentions of never coming back.
