Natural Pet was always my go to for pet supplies/food but the last two visits, you could see the vibe changed. Stopped in last week and was saddened to see a large amount of Pedigree bags on the shelves. Seems the store has been sold or something. The brand I normally buy (not available at a lot of the chain stores like Choice Pet/Petsmart/Petco) - there were not as many options/bags as usually. Happy to have found them after Pet Valu closed all locations. This is a nice local store with the added benefit of having 2 self service dog wash stations for $12/wash. Staff has been helpful and friendly and they are located on Fairfield Ave with plenty of off street parking in their lot. I haven't purchased any items however from browsing, the prices appear to be reasonable compared to online like Chewy or Amazon. My only complaint is the stairs leading to the dog wash stations are steep and narrow and not very manageable for my basset hound. read more

Always great service, the workers always answer questions and offer assistance. There's a women with brown hair who i believe might be the owner or manager who is always so sweet, as are all the workers. A few months ago I bought my usual 60-70 dollar back of dog food and within the week a mouse chewed through it, I was so worried as i couldn't really afford a whole new bag and they replaced it for free! After that experience i will always be a customer here! read more

Natural Pet Outlet is a very efficiently-run business and the absolute best I've been to for pet products. I took a friend's rescue Pit Bull to give him a bath and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. The store carries a vast array of healthy pet foods and snacks and reasonably-priced toys, leashes, and pet paraphernalia. The self-serve bath area is functional and clean and they supply everything needed. The employees checked on us regularly and really seemed to love working there. As we were leaving, my dog went to the bathroom on the floor. I offered to clean it up, but someone went and got a mop to clean it up. I apologized only to have my dog poop in the rock garden near the front window. I cleaned it up and in front of the building is a pet waste receptacle and a hand sanitizer dispenser. From the facility to the employees to the services provided and the products they sell, Natural Pet Outlet is first class all the way. We cannot wait to go again. read more

Let's start with the staff....omg they are all simply amazing, helpful, sweet, mindful and everything in between...smiles galore and genuine kindness not forced or obligated. The store is impeccably clean and organized. they offer nail clippings and also a self serve bath area in the back of the store. What an excellent store! I drove by for years but never stopped for whatever reason. I had no idea it'd be stocked full of wonderful high quality brands. They even sell Earth Animal products from Westport - awesome! The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful and I learned about $5 Monday nail clippings. Customer service has declined terribly. Prices are no better than local Choice Pet and if you feel that you are shopping small business and making a difference the owner doesn't care! Check your expiration dates on dry kibble as full priced bags are commonly out of date or expiring in weeks. At least this is my experience and I shopped there for years until a recent customer service fail where the owner told me he realized that I was upset but he basically didn't care. read more

I was just in the store wanting to get my dog's nails trimmed. Yes, he's a great Dane and gets very excited to see people. The nail trimmer personnel, Christine, was not welcoming at all. He approached her, out if excitement, she brushed him off and exclaimed that I have to hold my dog down. I said I will try. So we go in the back and he's laying down but his face was near hers, and she said "you need to get your dog's head away from me" , in a very condescending tone. I felt unwelcomed and she simply didn't want to do the trim. I've been going here for a while and have never had anyone so unprofessional and unwelcoming. It's too bad because this is a great business and I probably won't come here again. read more

Originally, this store looked like a real find. After 12 bags of dog food, you are promised a free one. After years of buying dog food there, I asked about my free bag of dog food, they said, "This is number twelve, Next time is your free one." Then the next time, they said, "Next time." This went on and on. Today I asked to speak to the store owner. He cut me off when I tried to tell him what happened. When I said, "Listen to me," he replied, "You can't tell me I have to listen to you. Get out of my store," and called - or pretended to call - the police. if you are expecting customer loyalty to pay off, beware. The free bag of dog food "next time" is a shell game. An unfortunate name for a store IMHO, but probably the best store with the greatest selection & employees for miles around. The vibe for the affection for what's best for your pet greets you as you enter - too glowing? Also, the monthly vet clinic for vaccinations and other routine issues is run by a charming and very competent group from where, I can't say. The cost is probably half what it would cost at any other veterinarian. Highly recommend this shop! read more

This place is wonderful for any pet owner. Having a new puppy, the staff was super helpful in guiding me to puppy appropriate products. The products are excellent. The prices are good, but the people working are far above the average store employees. I think they would work there even if they didn't get paid. They truly love animals. It's not a put on, they really love them. I have pet stores closer, but it's worth going across town. The Natural Pet Outlet is hands down the best pet store around. I shop here all of the time and have never been disappointed. At first, I decided to try it out just because it is a local pet store and I would rather support them than a place like Petco. I quickly realized that they offered a lot more than the satisfaction of supporting a local business - they are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly, not to mention they actually have the lowest prices around. I always shop here for my German Shepherd. They have a great selection of food, toys, etc., plus they have free nail clipping on Monday nights! Friendly staff always eager to help, prices lower than Petco inmost cases, and a real neighborhood feel. Can't go wrong here. Oh and I lved that they had a police dog demo and small Pet Fair over the summer; It was really wonderful. read more

Highly highly recommend this store. Not only is the staff super friendly and knowledgeable, but you know they are there just because they love animals just as much as you love your own they welcomed our little guy with open arms the first time and every time since we've had him. They helped us with setting up his raw diet ( which they have numerous meats and desired richness for you to choose from) , also helped us pick his dry food, and his raw meat bones and treats! They have everything possible for every animal and I'm so happy to live so close to this establishment. Free nail clippings every Monday and they are so professional. Still my puppy is not scared or even timid to have this done because everything there is done with just such ease and a great temperament. I love this store. The staff are always super helpful and knowledgeable about the food selection. They offer buyer programs as well that allows you to buy 10 get one free! I have already gotten a free bag of both the dry crunchies and freeze dried raw foods I buy for my dogs.
