I am a repeat customer at Natural Sound. This time however, VERY disappointed. They like to sell you high end items, but the install and technical help was non existent. I am disappointed with the TV picture quality and the SONOS Arc was not installed well and I can t get to the back to sync with my music. I received NO call back from the sales person when I asked for advice and help I would not recommend these folks. You can get better prices and as good service from the Geek squad !!! This place gives you the Red Carpet treatment I got there and they all ready for me I was brought into a room with Leather chairs and speaks all set up ready for me to listen to and they listen to what you music style is I told them them recommended the Revels and boy where right I also go to listen to the focal and they where very nice as well but I did go with the Revels and I also got a Rega P2 Record Player yes I love this place I will be back. read more

I have been going to Natural Sound for probably 25 years or so. Recently Mark O. installed a Audio Technica phono cartridge AT-OC9XSL on my REGA Planar 25 turntable. He was very meticulous and did an excellent job. He carefully inspected and fine tuned all parameters of adjustments to the turntable and cartridge to perfection . Not one of the good ones I'm local to Natural Sound, and really wanted to work with them since I have a bit of a "buy local" bent for most anything. I was looking to purchase a vinyl front end for about $3000. I came to their store, and spoke to a Peter, who seemed to be passionate, and knowledgable. I was also conversing with Larry Goldberg by email who is the store manager. Larry and I went back and forth a few times and he was cordial. When I had mentioned an out of state piece of gear I was considering, Larry's tone changed drasticaly. A couple quotes: "..but at this point I need to see your face in the shop." So i wanted to upgrade my turntable cartridge. I don't mind ordering stuff online but sometimes it's nice to just walk into a store and talk to someone about what you're buying. I feel this way about specialty shops, at least. I called ahead to make sure the cart I wanted was available. I went by for the first time that evening to pick it up. First off - this place does not look like much from the outside. It's basically in a house that has been converted into retail space. Honestly, for a place that carries high-end audio equipment, the space was a little rough. With that being said, the guy behind the counter was really nice, full of great info, and made extra sure that I got what I needed at the right price. He encouraged me to check out the showrooms, even though I only came in to buy a $60 phono pickup. I found this exceptionally refreshing; it's my experience that when you go into a high end specialty shop to buy something small or inexpensive, you get second class treatment (this has happened to me most often in camera shops). This was not the case here - I notice and appreciate these things. So if you need some audio gear, check this place out. The equipment is top-notch and thus rather expensive, but I'm guessing if you're going to this place, you probably know what you're looking for. They also carry lots of accessories, which range in price depending on what you're after. If my experience was representative of their overall customer service, I think you will not be let down. read more

The good: cool store. The guys inside are clearly knowledgeable and they have a really awesome selection of super high end equipment. Nice people who are willing to take the time to educate you and work with you to find your ideal setup. The middle: We waited for 45 minutes to be helped. It was a really busy time and I was looking at lower-end equipment. By "lower-end" I mean "pretty nice equipment for normal people". Our sales guy kept doing other stuff for more potentially profitable customers, which I can respect, while promising to attend to us shortly. When he finally did get around to helping us, he apologized politely. The bad: The sales guy quoted me prices that were literally twice the MSRP on a receiver and a pair of speakers. I told the guy in the store - I'd be happy to shop locally and pay a little more, but come on. I'm not going to spend $800 on $400 worth of equipment just for the sake of feeling like I'm hooking someone up. Having a local shop with good service is critical if you're spending several thousand dollars on a home theater setup. If you're shopping for lower end equipment, it was pretty clear that they have no qualms about trying to rip you off. Which is sad, because they ARE nice, and they do have some good policies, such as a 100% credit on electronic components if you double your investment within three years. I'm debating whether I should go back there and make an offer for them to take or leave, or whether I should just shop elsewhere. read more

My dog chewed through the power cable of my no-so-cheap subwoofer. The dog survived, but I wasn't so sure about the woofer. $60 for the diagnostic and $20 for the repair, all in a reasonable time frame and everything is back to working perfectly. read more

Before the chain stores with the silly salespeople, ipods,mini cameras and cell phones contract desks there were specialized stores that knew the art of fine audio/video reproduction. Natural Sound is one the few remaining local stores that you can find quality service and salespeople that really know the difference between the junk and well built home audio and video hardware. Some of their audio and video prices are for the rich but they do have home audio for the average person that has to watch their budget. If you are looking for a good audio system for your home that will last for years then this is the place to start. read more

I just called this store to see if they could repair a Sharp stereo, and they kind of uppity said NO. I asked them if they knew of another shop in the area, they said No. So no help to me. Maybe if you have a more expensive stereo setup. It is too bad we no longer have any tv or stereo repair in our town or anywhere near it? If you no of one, let me know, near Framingham/Natick, MA. The First time I went there the service was good but then going back there for more help is a waste of time. The guys are very knowledgeable but they help you if they feel like it. I went looking for a sub-woofer cable after buying my new Marantz 1403 there, the service guy didn't seem interested in what i was talking about. Thought I'd never say this but I get better service from Best Buy.... I will buy my accessories there instead. If I've already spent and going to spend more money at a place , I would expect better service. read more

I came into this store today to look for a USB cable as I was having some trouble with my headphone (it was buzzing in one earcup). I didn't end up buying anything (because it wasn't the solution to the problem like I was hoping it was), but the guys here were all very friendly and helpful. They let me test out my headphones on a Sony portable amp/dac they had, both with my computer and phone. I didn't end up buying anything, and they weren't rude as a result; sometimes, at audio stores, if you don't buy anything, the people can be rude, but not here. They have a good selection of audio equipment ranging from headphones to cables to speaker equipment, and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended. read more

Quick and Simple: -Very nice, clean shop. Comfortable place to be. -Manager was quick and eager to assist and made sure I had control over all aspects of the demo. -Great selection of products, could spend hours there. -Store managers are not pushy at all, just there to help and very knowledgeable More in Depth: Went in specifically to demo a pair of Sonus Faber speakers that I knew they carried. One of the store managers, Larry, was setting up some electronics in the back room and dropped everything to help me the second I asked. Within a minute or two they had brought said speakers into one of the rooms, hooked them up to an amp closest in quality to what I have at home, and put on a test CD I had brought. After showing me where the controls were, he told me to spend some time listening and that he'd check back in with me in a bit. I really appreciated this, as the salesmen at every other place I'd been so far sat around awkwardly as if they didn't trust me with their setups. This really allowed me to just sit down (in a very comfortable piece of furniture set up in the listening position I may add) and thoroughly listen. After a while, once I had heard enough (the speakers were fantastic by the way), I turned the music off and was promptly greeted once again by Larry asking what I thought. He explained to me a bit more about the speakers and about a pre-owned pair they had for sale before sending me off with his card. The whole experience was fantastic and they made me feel at home. At no point did he try to pull a "car salesman" and upsell anything I wasn't interested in. My only regret is that I didn't get a chance to really look around a whole lot as I was in a bit of a rush with a 3 hour drive ahead of me to get back home. I didn't end up buying the speakers through them as I was able to get a better deal through my own job that I found after the visit, but next time I'm in the market for some new equipment, I certainly know where I'll be going! I went there to audition a few sub-$500 bookshelf speakers and was helped within 5 minutes even though the they were a few customers there prior to me. If you are new to high end audio/video and you only prior experience buying was at big box stores, you may be a bit intimidated. Natural Sound sells equipment that can fetch 10's of thousands of dollars. The whole experience of buying the speakers was pleasant but felt a bit rushed when a customer who was clearly spending a lot more money than me was waiting to use the audition room with his salesman. It's just the way business works, I guess. Needless to say, I will be using their trade-up program and exchanging my speakers in the next 36 months for a better pair. read more

I am a very tech savvy person. I am a systems administrator at a big corporation. My twin who is a computer programmer lives and works here. When we walked in we were impressed with the high end companies they had there like Bowers & Wilkins and Denon head phones which are definitely top of the line products. My twin was considering a purchase on some headphones from them, though unfortunately while we were browsing, I was not paying attention. My girlfriend ended up mistaking what she thought was a power button, instead it was a tweeter on a high quality speaker. In the end the guy forced her to pay while threatening and blocking us from leaving. this was an honest mistake and she feels bad about this, which is why she was more willing to pay for her mistake than we felt she was responsible for. Personally I feel if you are to buy a speaker from someone, you should look elsewhere, at a place that can warranty its purchases in case of every day damage. If they can't cover their own costs how do you think they are able to warranty your purchases. They obviously don't care about there customers much so I would not plan to be treated very well before or after any purchases at this store. This tweeter in the end only costed 57.81 dollars, there was no signage or warnings about these floor models, and even worse it was used so while this typically would be under warranty, it wasn't due to the company taking risk in buying used products and forcing the customer to pay full price as if it was new before damage. What was worse was not the price, but the experience and the threats. Update after looking online: we realized Bower & Wilkins are easily fixed and are not needed be replaced as the damaged portion of this was just the outer cap portion of what is suppose to protect the tweeter. Obviously they like to take advantage of their customers on charging them for damage on what is already used. read more

I've been buying equipment from Natural Sound for well over a decade. I started small with cartridges, turntable repairs, cabling, etc., then moved on to higher end CD players and a phono stage. Presently contemplating tube amps. I've learned a ton just from chatting with Larry, Peter and everyone else there. Always courteous, friendly and knowledgeable, I know their advice will be solid, it will respond to my economic limits and not "push" me into something I can't afford, and be what I am looking for and what I need. I "trust" them and I can't say that about too many businesses these days. High end audio isn't cheap so you need to know who will bring you the greatest bang for your buck and not play games with you. These guys qualify on every level. Very HIGHLY Recommended. read more

Great experience shopping for relatively high end setup for my new home. They really assisted with the entire plan, options and selection. They did a great job installing and stayed late to boot just to get it done. It was a lot of fun selecting the two floor standing speakers there. I auditioned 4 speakers in total (Marc set them up and helped me switch back and forth) and while I walked in thinking I would not be able to pick up the differences, with enough time and patience my ear began to really tell them apart. We've purchased two components there, and were impressed with the knowledge, background, and helpfulness of the staff. This is a thoroughly classy hi-end store, and unlike others, they'll treat you respectfully even if you're not looking to spend a great amount of money. From seventy dollar Grado headsets to ten thousand dollar turntables that look ready for an art museum, they have everything, and unlike at traditional big box store, you can try the gear in controlled settings with your favorite music. For people with more pedestrian tastes, they'll actually do special orders; perfect if you get your heart set on a certain shelf system or something and can't find it locally. They also sell used gear and do repair work. I've never gotten anything worked on there, but I saw the repair room, and it looked very well stocked, with all variety of oscilloscopes, frequency testers, boxes of vintage parts, shop manuals, alighnment tapes, .etc, .etc. If it gives you any clue, there was a Nakamichi Dragon on the bench awaiting a tuneup, though I saw more pedestrian gear, too. I fully reccomend this shop. They're friendly, truly high-end, love audio, know their stuff, and are quite willing to deal with plebes and broke college students looking for seventy buck headphones or forty buck pickups, read more

I'm very thankful a place like this still exists. You will never get this kind of service on high end at a local retail chain, which sadly seems to be the majority. I'm not one of the incredibly well off who can spend several thousands of dollars on audio equipment. I am however a budget audiophile who knows what he wants and CAN reasonably spend. That said, I was very well served by Natural sound. I can't say enough about Peter and his willingness to help me out with some turnatable/preamp compatibility issues. I learned more about my equipment in an hour with him than in the past ten years of avid record collecting. Sure, you may wait to be helped but carve out some time and give them the opportunity to speak to you. They are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. In an age where most customer service is delivered over the phone or by a high school student given a few hours of brief equipment knowledge - this is well worth the wait and the cost. read more

Truly nice guys with many years of experience that genuinely want to help you get the best sound for your money, no matter what your budget is. They really listened to me: what equipment I already had, what kind of music I listen to, what kind of sound I like, and what would work best for me. There are no stock answers, just careful analysis and advice. You can be confident you are getting the best advice, not being pushed to buy a particular product. They were very patient letting me compare two of their CD players using my own CDs. I am very satisfied with the CD player I chose and how it sounds on my system at home. They also have a great service department and did quick and low cost repairs to some of my old equipment that needed some minor repairs and service.
