Hello everyone. I went to Nature's House as a big smoothie fan and the experience was horrible. I choose my fruits, coconut water and honey. When I tried with the smoothie is was not flavor, it did not taste yummy or fruity. When I went to the store again to ask the lady if she add all the fruits, she was so rude. I was trying to explain to her that it did not taste like there were fruits on it. Honestly the smothie taste like water with pink powder on. I wasn't sure if I was in the right place when I walked in as it is a health food store packed with vitamins, tea and more, but upon entering I quickly found the juice stand on my left. The juice bar is a very simple set-up, but it definitely works. I was quickly greeted with a genuine smile, and was offered a ton of different options for my afternoon smoothie. You can pretty much make any smoothie you want with an array of juices. But all of the ingredients are FRESH. All of the whole fruits are right there in front of you. I ended up with some strawberry banana and other fruit blend and it was delicious. It's one of those places where you know anything they make you is going to be good. And the best part? The price. I haven't had a juice I didn't like yet but my fav is definitely the digestive juice. Whether or not it really helps my digestion is questionable, but I'm sure it doesn't hurt. Truthfully, I get juices from here when I need a detox after eating out a bit too much in a week or because I'm bribing myself to be productive when working from home. Most are $5 which I think is a decent price considering the portion and location. There are lots of other teas, healthy snacks, vitamins, powders, natural lotions, organic odds and ends, etc. in the small but packed store. Nature's House is a small unassuming storefront that if you didn't know they had awesome, healthy, freshly pressed juices and shakes, you wouldn't know. At first glance it just looks like a quicky store, you know the kind of place you run in real quick grab a tea or coffee and run back out. But it isn't. It's a low key, health food store, with much more than just juices and shakes. As I was waiting for my juice to be pressed, I took a little mosey around to poke my nose into all of the offerings, and what I found was a rather large selection of all kinds of healthy options from organics to (until recently) hard to find grains and gluten-free options, as well as teas, honeys, oils, ready juices, and even a frozen food section. The proprietor is an enthusiastic, accommodating and friendly face who was happy to see a new customer and eagerly welcomed me back. And the juice was delicious! None of that pseudo stuff either, this is not a McDonald's smoothie! If you are looking for the real deal, a green shake that isn't just green in color but in nutrients and ingredients, this is the right place and maybe at this point the only place in Jersey City where you will find it. There are only two downsides: 1. If you are like me and you drive, it is very difficult to find parking on Newark Avenue (always) but especially now that most of that end of the block has been cut off to vehicle traffic. 2. If you look around the area, downtown JC is really being regentrified, which makes it very easy on the eyes, but not all of the shops have remodeled and upscaled (which is fabulous! It means the little people can still afford some things downtown), but if that's what you are looking for, this shop is not that. It is tucked away and unassuming, totally authentic in its history because this place has apparently been there for years and it makes no bones about it.
